A professionally upgraded Les Paul Custom in a limited edition Silverburst.

The king of solid body guitars, the Les Paul Custom made its debut in 1954 after the initial success of the Les Paul Goldtop. Les Paul himself originally suggested black as a great color for a new Les Paul because it looked "classy" and went well with a tuxedo on stage. Now, you can own this Les Paul Custom in a limited edition Silverburst finish. And with its chrome appointments, fully bound body, neck and headstock and mother-of-pearl inlays, we think you'll still agree that the Limited Edition Epiphone Les Paul Custom is "dressed to kill." Now featuring ProBucker 2 and ProBucker 3 humbucking pickups, chrome hardware, multi-binding on body (top and back), neck and headstock as well as split-diamond mother-of-pearl headstock and block fretboard inlays, it’s as gorgeous as it is deadly. Case sold separately.

Went to the music store for a tuner and saw this on the wall. Always wanted a Gibson LP Custom Silverburst but the cost was a bit much. I really looked this one over for any flaws or faults as it is made in China and I couldn't find any. I was impressed with the binding, tuners, finish, coil tap,and weight. I have quite a few guitars and two of my favorites are my '99 Gibson LP Studio Plus w/ebony fretboard, and my '82 Electra Workingman X280, so as you can see this Epi had some high standards to meet. I bought it on my way to our practice session and intended on bringing it right back if it turned out to be a flop. Plugged it into my Line 6 Flextone II with a M13 effects board for flavor and I was very impressed with the action, tone, high end, crunch factor, and weight. Our band leader was impressed as well and remarked on the sounds that came from this beautifully constructed axe. There is no thought of returning it and I would say that it ranks up there with my favorite players. The coil tap function is a nice addition for flexibility and I like the sound of the pups. Nicely done Epiphone, nicely done!

This is about instrument #11101511696. I have always been intrigued by Epiphone, and bought a G-400 that I gave away. I saw this instrument and decided to go for it because my Gibson Les Paul is getting old and I wanted to use a practice instrument in its place. Upon receiving this Epi, The finish and double multi-ply binding was fabulous. But I strummed it and acoustically it didn't sound right. I plugged it in and it sounded worse. I really looked it over and found a number of problems. The Grover tuners are good, but 14:1 tuners just don't cut it for accuracy unless the intrument has a locking Floyd Rose. So I changed them out for 18:1 Grover locking Rotomatics. I replaced the cheap plastic nut with a GraphTech TUSQ. The mounting stud on the low E end was exposed about 1/8" so you could see the splines, and required several careful but aggressive taps with a body hammer to reseat it(had to remove bridge). This was the reason the instrument sounded poorly and actually was causing a slight twist in the neck. I readjusted the truss rod and reintoned it- later. The electronics were not up to industry standard and disposed; The switch cover and the control plate cover were installed inside out. I replaced the pickups and pots with an EMG 81X/85 setup and a SD onboard preamp; installed an Orange Drop cap for master tone; changed the stopbar to a TonePros aluminum stopbar, and Schaller style strap locks. The worst two issues remained; The fretboard was so dry from being overheated during curing that it required several applications of fretboard conditioner. The fretwork was the worst on any instrument I have ever owned. The frets made a grinding sound when the strings were stretched, so I had to recrown and polish the frets. So that's it. I wanted to return it, but out of love of the Les Paul style body, I kept it. Similar to Fender, the Epiphone line needs to be upgraded. In the meantime, shop around. In hindsight I would have saved myself a lot of money and bother by buying an ESP LTD EC401 FM for not much more money. And Charvel is back on the map with its new Desolation line. BC Rich is also making some great new mainstream style instruments now. The "Quality Checked In USA" tag on the Epiphone, well, needs some careful review by Gibson management, in my opinion.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

This was my first les paul and I do not regret buying it. I performed with it live once in front of a couple hundred and it was great. It has a decent clean sound and an amazing distorted sound!
Though there are two main issues in the guitar:
        1. The truss rod feels loose and give a buzzing sound. But it doesn't shown when the guitar is amped up.
        2. When switching from rhythm to treble the switch may not happen sometimes in certain situations. I caught it happening 2 to 4 times in the past 3 months that i had it. It happens when the pick up volume/tone are at extremely different values.

Though, these problems can be fixed easily and for not a lot of money. And if the pickups are changed it would make for an amazing live guitar.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

This a great deal. I bought an alpine white Epi custom in 2002. I bought it instead the Gibby version because I was at the Gibson Gallery at the mall on the old grounds of Opryland and compared the two side by side. There was absolutely no difference in the feel or playability of the two. Only difference was the pickups and electronics. Back then there was quite a difference in the Epi pickups, they just didn't have the power or tone of the Gibsons. \I paid five and a half bills for the guitar and hardshell case. It had to be special ordered as alpine white was not very common but was still offered. It took six months to get it, then that was after a lot of pressure by my local dealer. The guitar actually ended up being built in the Nashville factory but still had the Epi logo and electronics. One year later I purchased Burstbucker 2 pickups, Gibson switches and pots and had them installed by my Lead guitarist who is also our tech as he is very talented in that area. So for eight and a half bills total investment, compared to over three G's,I have the perfect guitar with climax inducing tone and feel/playability. But the current Epi "PRO" pickups are excellent and virtually identical to the Gibby's in tone. I have the "Alnico Classics" in my Epi white pearl Dot Royale that I just got out of layaway two weeks ago. Sounds like a Gibson to me, with great lows, sparkling bell like highs and midrange bark to fool the best blues players when you want it. Paid four and a quarter compared to 3000 + for a custom shop limited editon guitar. Love My Epis

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

Epiphone hits the nail on the head again! Hands-down; they produce some of the finest guitars that I have ever owned and played. The fit, form, and finish on this guitar is flawless. Out of the box- the set-up is near-perfect. The ProBucker PUPs sound excellent coming through either my new Blackstar ID-260 or my Line 6 Flextone amps. Fretwork is clean and comfortable. Tuners are top-shelf. The Silverburst color coupled with the immaculate binding from Headstock to Fretboard and around the body is simply beautiful. The output jack is tight and feels very durable. Overall weight- neck to body ratio feels good and comfortable to play whether sitting or strapped on. The black volume and tone dials look great against the Silverburst color and again feel very durable. For the price- this is a fine instrument. I already own 2 other Epi's as well a couple Gibson LP's. Glad that I made the choice to add this guitar to my arsenal! Keep up the good work Epiphone!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

After my previous Epi LP met with an unfortunate accident, I was in the market for a replacement. I didn't want to shell out thousands, so a Gibson was out of the question. I walked into my local music store, and this guitar caught my eye immediately. She was the first guitar of about 8 or 9 that I took for a test run, and after playing around with the other candidates, I new that she was perfect. It required very little setup, the tone was near-Gibson quality, and the weight, style, look and feel was exactly what I wanted in a mid-range priced guitar. I played it for the first time at band practice last night, and only had to make minor tuning adjustments 2 or 3 times in a 5 hour period, instead of after every 2 or 3 songs as with my other LP. I would definitely recommend this to an experienced player on a budget. Can't wait to take her to the stage!

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

Had two different guitars shipped due to finish issues. The clearcoat used caused the guitar to be a translucent washed out green. The guitar wasn't a brilliant silver like the images, just a dirty, old, blah green color. I sent it back and received assurance that the replacement would be the correct color. Unfortunately, that was not the case, and it was ultimately returned and I gave up. I don't know if its a bad batch from one of the factory or what happened, but unfortunately it didn't work out. On the plus side, customer service was accommodating and handled the matter well. The guitar is otherwise amazing. I wish it would have worked out.

Have a Epiphone custom,a gold top and now this custom pro....as nice as the gold top is it will go before my custom pro. Just feels better to me especially the very slightly thinner neck,to me just easier to play and cord on. Very much like
the pickups, nice sounding-I seem to keep it mostly split to single coil, sounds sweet and just a tad less brighter than my Fender Strats on my old school Fender Princeton amp. Be sure to give this very comfortable playing guitar serious consideration.PS- she is so pretty too.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar:

This was my first electric, and I am extremely satisfied with it. It is a beautiful looking, and just a guitar in general, and it sounds amazing with a Fender Mustang amp if you get the sound right. It feels very comfortable when sitting, and standing.

My only complaint is the fret buzz when you're playing on distortion, and when I got it, there was residue on the pickups, a small dent in the back, and the pickgaurd seems scratched.

So if you want a unique Les Paul, buy it. If you want the worlds best guitar, look at some others.
But I would probably go into a store and buy it, to make sure there is no shipping damage.
