This guitar sounds as good as some of the higher priced Martin's or Taylors. Records beautifully. Not to mention it is a great looking guitar as well. You can't go wrong with this one!
Good solid wood guitar will only improve with age.Body has great resonance can feel the guitar vibrate when you play, sweet.
I bought this almost by accident-I only wanted to see and play one.I wound up buying it,and I am glad I did. It plays very well (fingerstyle). The guy I bought it from had his guitar stolen, and bought this one on impulse. It sat in a closet from January of this year until a couple of weeks ago. I lowered the action a tiny bit and am loving it. It is sweet and loud-depending on how I play it. I had been looking at BlueRidge guitars with my son (he bought one) I feel that I got the better deal!
This guitar seem to offer the most bang for the buck. You get a rosewood box, beautiful inlays and bindings, which usually drive the cost in a guitar way up. But I was most impressed with how its sweet sound maintains itself throughout the fretboard. It was the only guitar in that price range that could really be compared to the more expensive (+1000) Taylors, Martins, and Gibson guitars. I highly recommend this one.
Purchased this unit 2 weeks ago, plays very well right out of the box. Has a much bigger and nicer sound than I expected, mellow full lows and nice accurate highs. Fit and finish were very nice - but I don't care much for the tuners. Wish this guitar had the baggs pick up available. I own a Taylor, Gibson and 2 Yamahas and have been playing for over 30 years. I like this Epiphone and am glad I bought it.
For the past 3 months or so I?ve been looking for a solid body guitar that wouldn?t break the bank. I played lower end Martins, Taylors, Gibsons, etc?I picked up the Epiphone Masterbuilt EF-500R and it blew them all out the water! Hands down, this is the best lower priced solid body guitars on the market. It comes with a great case for travel and storage. This makes my 8th Epiphone (3rd Acoustic) and it?s by far the best of them all. GO GET IT and DO IT NOW!!! You want be disappointed. The commercials don?t lie, it?s worth every penny.
I played 7 guitars side by side in this price range. I picked this over a Taylor, Ovation, and Takamine models. The sound is rich, full, and loud. Every note sounds full up and down the fret bord. It has a darker bassy tone which I prefer. For the money this is a fantastic acoustic. The added plus is the plush soft/hard case that comes with it. I am an epiphone electric junkie and I went in to the store not expecting to buy and epiphone but I did and am very happy that I did.
