Comments about Epiphone Performer ME Venetian Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

hard to beat at this price. Mine came with gold Grover tuners, which was unexpected. The guitar is sensitive to changes in barometric/atmospheric pressure, other than that, it has been solid for several years. The dual output from the Shadow and the xducer system gives some really interesting options.
Looks great under the right lighting in a small venue where the woodgrain shows through, and the inlay is eye-catching...looks great, sounds good...a winner.

Not really a 'Jumbo', but still a good guitar

Comments about Epiphone Performer ME Venetian Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Look, this guitar will not replace my Guild or my Martin, but for gigging A/E, this works fine and I'm not worried if it gets a ding or two.
I've had mine for over a year now, and so the blush of new ownership has gone. First, this is not a 'Jumbo' in the sense of the EJ style...the shape is jumbo style, if you will. The guitar is very lightweight, a plus for me, and the electronics are working perfectly. I am not crazy about the location of the electronic control unit; I would have liked it further up on the peak of upper bout, but many other manufacturers do the same thing...oh well.
The dual output is a blessing and a curse...most acoustic guitar amps only have ONE input for the guitar. I use a small mixer to combine the two channels into one input, and then use the on-board 'blend' slider to get the balance where I want it. Both outputs have distinctly different qualities, so this is a nice feature to have, if you can utilize it. But this means carrying three guitar cables and the mini-mixer and an amp to gigs (or worse, two cables and two amps), rather than one cable and an amp...not that big a deal, but something to consider. Epiphone might want to rethink the two outputs and have the blend control work to one jack.
Acoustically, this guitar is just passable (compared to my 'high-end' stuff), but plugged in, you could mistake it for a number of more expensive instruments; and visually, in the right light, it is an eyecatcher. I'm still not sure about the gold tuners, I thought they were supposed to be chrome (the pics at MF showed that), and they almost look out of place on this guitar. But they work fine.
Epiphone's various factories in Asia have turned out some very intersting instruments over the years, this one from Indonesia included. The inlay work is just gorgeous! The tiger stripe maple under the trans-black finish is striking in the right light! The guitar seems ot be holding up well to gigging, rehearsals, etc.
Considering the onboard electronics, the quality of the tuners, the inlay work...definitely worth the price. If you are gigging, this guitar may work well for you, it has good depth, and is great to look at, and easy to play.

Overall it's a good guitar. The problem I had was the massive size.
