I ordered this guitar in February and didn't receive it until April.  I kept getting told of new ship dates and was getting quite frustrated.  I know it wasn't Musician's Friend's fault and they were always pleasant when I called to ask about it.

However, once it finally arrived, I was happier with this guitar than I expected.  The guitar has great action out of the box, a magnificent sound, and easy playability.  The natural finish was better than the picture shows (the actual guitar is not white on the sides).  I am still amazed at the quality of this guitar for the price.

The amp that is included has a great sound as well and includes two inputs (one microphone style plug and a standard 1/4" plug) as well as a chorus (reverb) button.  The only thing I didn't like was the strap and gig bag.  I am not a gig bag person so I pretty much just left that in its package (I prefer the hard cases).  The strap is just not comfortable or easy to put on or take off of the guitar.  I would buy a seperate strap with this set.

I could not be happier

Features:

You get a lot of bang for your buck with this package. I received this yesterday, and it felt like a Christmas present with how many things you get... Gig bag, strap, picks, ELECTRIC TUNER (not the tuner shown in the pic), amplifier AND a bunch of other goodies. You literally get everything that you need to accompany a guitar with this pack.

Quality:

I personally love Epiphone guitars, the quality of the other Epiphones I have, and this guitar is no exception. Quality instrument, amp and accessories. \m/

Value:

For what you pay, it almost seems like you're robbing Epiphone with all the good stuff that comes with this package. Unbeatable. Way to go Epiphone.

Overall:

I'm a pretty hard grader, and this pack gets perfect grades from me across the board. I am a musician on a budget, and this is a great package for musicians of ANY experience level... and if you are a beginner, there is even a disc in the kit that you could pop in to a DVD player to teach you the basics! Look... if you need a great guitar and you don't want to spend a ton of money getting it or additional accessories for said guitar, BUY THIS PACK. You will not go wrong with it.

Comfortable to play, but don't expect a full-size sound.

Features:

This Epiphone is a very comfortable guitar to play.  Having used it repeatedly for open-mic nights as well as weekly church services, this lightweight guitar is a treat, both to carry and to play.  The 3-band eq is nicely balanced and accurate.  I would have preferred a strap nut on the body of the guitar (on the left as you're holding it), rather than having to tie the strap at the head, but maybe that's just me.

The included 15W amp packs a lot of wollop for its size, though I found the built-in chorus fairly cheesy-sounding.  Okay for that specific effect, I suppose, though I would have preferred a simple and more universally applicable reverb.

Quality:

The guitar is constructed soundly, as you'd expect from any Epiphone product.  I do have a frustrating problem, however, on the low E-string.  No matter what I try, I have to tune it slightly flat in order to maintain accurate pitch when pressed.  Plus, at least on mine, that same string plays just slightly "muddier" than the others.  I'm sure no one notices but me (at least I hope that's the case).  The instrument has a nice, warm sound, though I was a bit surprised at the folksy smallness of the sound.  I'm sure it's just that I'd never played a smaller guitar before, and the sound works well for more earthy music.  But for dinner music at a restaurant, you're better to stay with a fuller-sounding full-size.

And while solidly constructed, my amp developed a little "crackle" in the volume control long before I thought appropriate.

Value:

A very good guitar for the money.  A killer deal?  No, and I think a little more effort on Epiphone's part would have yielded a slightly less "buggy" instrument for the same money.  Still, for 200 bucks, it does what it's supposed to do: sound good.

Overall:

This is certainly a package I'd recommend to someone with not a lot of money to spend.  The amp is powerful enough for a small coffee-house, and as I said, the guitar is a treat to play.  The included gig bag is what you'd expect in a package of this price, though you'll probably want to upgrade to one with more padding when you can.

Features:

The accessory package that came with the guitar is good for a beginner and very complete. I use the amplifier around the house, no complaints from the neighbors.

Quality:

I've owned quite a few Epiphone guitars over the years and have had very good experiences with them. While the electronics are not necessarily top of the line they are more than acceptable and the build quality and finish of their instruments have always been very good.

Value:

You can't beat Epiphone for value and this value pack, at the price, is a great value.

Overall:

I was looking for a small, inexpensive acoustic electric to use around the house and found a this package. The package that I bought was used. I was a little worried at first but Epiphone usually builds a decent guitar and I figured at the price the accessory package was worth what I paid. When it arrived, in the original Epihone packaging, it had a small hole between the bridge and the sound hole that looked like someone stuck a screw driver through the front. All of the bracing inside was intact and all strings except the low E tuned perfectly and their intonation was spot on. The low E string was flat and tuning it did nothing. I put on a set of light weight Martin strings that I had for another guitar and everything was fine. It tunes and plays well now and is just what I was looking for. As for the hole, I repaired that recently and you can't tell it was ever there. Maybe a deal that is not for everyone but I am very pleased, nice guitar, great price.

I've owned this pack for a year now,and I have to say that it was much more than expected. After a few years of not playing and getting rid of old gear, when the time came that I wanted to play again I really just didn't have a whole lot of money to spend. After quite a bit of research and talking with some friends, I bought this pack, thinking that it will last until I could buy something of better quality. Noe however, I know I'm never getting rid of this baby! Right out of the box the guitar was in perfect tuning, although the strings were crap no problem considering there was a set of new ones in the box. The gig bag was great for caring it around and the tuner was extremely helpfull as I've never been a fan of pitchpipes. And while others have complained of the amp, mine has definatey held up and I'vedone several coffee house gigs where I ran a mic and guitar through it. (Wasn't perfect but it worked decently enough) Oh and if anyone wants to get a case for the guitar make sure to get the Epiphone PR-6E case, it fits perfectly. Great job Epi!!
