OVERVIEW

An upgraded top and all the features that make the series easy to play.

The PRO-1 Plus comes with a Solid Spruce top for superior sound with beautiful 5-layer Ivory and Black binding just like Epiphone's vintage classics and features all of the PRO Collection's breakthrough innovations. Epiphone, one of the world's oldest and most respected guitar makers, has just made playing and learning guitar easy for everyone.

Designed by Professionals to be easy to play
Creating a truly easy-to-play guitar wasn't easy. Epiphone takes making a great guitar seriously, no matter what the player's level. So Epiphone rethought the guitar from top to bottom to make an instrument that anyone can play right away. The result is a truly "PRO" guitar that's easy-to-play, easy-to-own, and most importantly, delivers the full, vibrant sound that Epiphone is known for. The PRO-1 Plus acoustic guitar is the result of exhaustive analysis, numerous technological innovations, and suggestions from a "who's who" of professional players.

Less fatigue
Wrap your hand around the PRO-1 Plus neck and you'll immediately feel how comfortable it is. The new EZ-Profile neck is designed so your hand can easily form chords without feeling fatigued.

Effortless Fretting
Epiphone JumboPRO frets make fretting notes and chords seem effortless. JumboPRO frets are taller and wider than smaller frets. So, when you push down a string, it's easier to make string contact with the fret with less hand fatigue and finger friction.

Shorter is Easier
Scale length is the distance from the saddle to the nut. The shorter the scale length, the "looser" the strings feel. Because the PRO-1's scale length is almost 1" shorter than most acoustic guitars, the strings are under less tension so you don't have to press hard to get good tone. And - since the frets are closer together-- making chords is easier!

Make friction fiction
String and fingerboard friction not only slows your playing but also can hurt. The PRO-Ease string and fingerboard coating provides sleek, smooth action with reduced string noise.

No pain, no gain?
Nonsense-Epiphone believes in "no pain." Lighter gauge strings are easier to play so every PRO-1 is set-up and equipped with Epiphone Ultra-Light strings.

Easy action
With Epiphone's Dual-Action truss rod, you can adjust the neck in both directions, which not only stabilizes the neck but also makes set-up easier and more precise.

Comments about Epiphone PRO-1 PLUS Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this because the hype was that it was easy to play, Less fatigue, Effortless Fretting, The PRO-Ease string and fingerboard coating provides sleek, smooth action with reduced string noise, and designed for the novice. Well, I didn't find any of that to be true. It's not a bad guitar and for what I paid (it was on sale), it will be an ok second guitar but it did not meet my expectations at all.

Comments about Epiphone PRO-1 PLUS Acoustic Guitar:

I bought this guitar as an open-box return, so I got an even better deal than the already low price. This might be a beginner's price point, but there's no reason this guitar won't last a lifetime and grow with your playing skills. The shorter scale and fat frets are comfortable to play right out of the box, and after a setup to your liking at your local luthier, you won't want to put it down. Some of the color options seem a little gimmicky, but you can't go wrong with natural or sunburst. I swapped out the stock pickguard with a Tor-Tis from LMI to 'make it mine'. The slick pinless bridge makes string replacement a breeze.

A Solid top, 18:1 tuners, neck and body binding with great fit & finish, cool vintage headstock styling, great sound, fun to play... all for under two bills? NO BRAINER! I rarely write reviews, but this guitar is an exceptional value. It probably doesn't keep up with a Taylor Big Baby, but it comes real close for half the money.

Comments about Epiphone PRO-1 PLUS Acoustic Guitar:

I needed an acoustic guitar fast since a guitar group was forming January 4, 2016 at the local YMCA. I did some quick research on acoustic guitars and settled for the Epiphone Pro- I Plus since I never played an acoustic guitar before. I ordered it on December 18 and received it 4 days later on December 22. Shipping was so fast and the guitar arrived in perfect condition even though it was the busiest shipping day of the year. The Epiphone was Ebony edition and simply shined when unwrapped. I did a quick tuning and checked the intonation and string height and found them to be perfectly adjusted from the factory. I also ordered a soft case for acoustic guitars and it fit perfectly. I am totally happy with me purchase from Musician"s Friend!

I have not touched a guitar in 30+ years so I consider myself a beginner again. For the money, this guitar looks beautiful, plays and sounds great. I would highly recommend this guitar to anyone looking for a starter guitar.

Comments about Epiphone PRO-1 PLUS Acoustic Guitar:

I was going to buy a less expensive guitar for traveling. I lugged this one all over Thailand. Even through the hot weather and humidity, it stayed stable. I have enjoyed this guitar since the day I received it. Maybe it's not for everyone, but for me it's like a good friend.
