This may sound unreal, maybe I got majorly lucky but I'm not sending this one back. The feel is solid and heavy, but not too heavy. I went over this baby like a freak, not a single flaw or scratch, beautiful quilt and binding and color. The EMG pups are outstanding, everything from acoustic-like clean, to bell, to epic crunch tones. This Midnight Ebony is sick, my friends are like dude. I was sad to let a 60's Gib-LP go and this EPI-LP is everything that it was and so more. When I got it the setup and intonation was spot on. I can't think of a single thing I would change. Almost got one last year, glad I waited. The 2-vol, 2-tone version is way. If you get one like this one you will rant too.

Would like to rate higher but unsure if an acceptable product can originate from China plant. The tonal capabilities and playability are addictive. First guitar: push pull knob popped out. Second guitar: slight neck dents and slight ?cosmetic? crack way far down on the fretboard. Third guitar: we'll see. Return process was easy--something tells me they do this often.

Comments about Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX/GX Electric Guitar:
well conceived, but typical hit or miss quality control.needed way too much adjusting for my liking . slim neck is good idea, and neck joint at 18th fret a great idea. but materials made it a very weak neck.easily bendable. finish was nice, one very minor finish flaw. split coils very usable. for what I wanted as a les paul its sound as a whole was too bright for me, but if this was being used as a sole guitar, it was middle of the road in the right way. fret job was reasonable. case was nice ,but lid did not close properly, making one of the clasps, way too loose and it did not stay closed. this was not one of the better ones, but I would still say try one,if your lucky you will get one thats right on. A great guitar in concept but lack of quality materials and quality control undermind its potential

Comments about Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX/GX Electric Guitar:
I anticipated this guitar would be decent, AND IT IS!!!!! It needed a set up when I got it, no big deal. Minor truss rod adjustment, bridge height adjustment and pickup adjustment, intonation was SPOT ON!!! After the minor and quick tweaks, I can't put this beast down.. My friend has a Gibson Les Paul Traditional, and this thing stomps it, haha.. The EMGs smoke too. Perfect compliment to the guitar.. Great playability, action and feel.. I would not hesitate to purchase if you're looking for a solid axe.. LOOK NO FURTHER.

Comments about Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX/GX Electric Guitar:
I'm not usually a fan of Epiphone and even Gibson products have begun to let me down. This guitar has actually shown me a light. Amazing quality. Looks can also be deceiving. This guitar actually looks way better in person. It's a much lighter blue. Looks almost turquoise. The neck is noticeably longer and makes playing the higher frets an absolute breeze which is just great for players who want to shred while maintaining elegance. I highly recommend buying this guitar for any style of music.

Incredible setup. Didn't have to do much. Versatel sounds and fast neck. Sounds as good and plays better than some of my custom expensive guitars.
Really did an outstanding job on this one.

Comments about Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX/GX Electric Guitar:
Before I start I should say I have GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome). I get guitars of all makes and models and love them for a shorty time. I generally like the feel of more expensive models and American made stuff. This Epiphone has an expensive feel. The pickups have a lot punch when cranked up and they clean up well with a turn of the volume knob. The coil split is nice but I generally stay in humbucker mode. I bought this guitar used from MF in condition 2. I must say how impressed I was to see this guitar. It's heavy but I like that. The small pick scratches were hard to find and everything else was great. The set up was right on as I don't like a super low action. If you do it's a simple adjustment. I would buy this guitar again in a minute. Don't let used or Epiphone scare you off. I generally play classic rock, blues and some riff based metal.

Comments about Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX/GX Electric Guitar:
As with any guitar Ive ever bought ,it needs a little tweeking to set it to the way I liked it,but it plays great now and sounds awesome with the gibson humbuckers in it.There was some fret buzz at first, nothing a little adjustment couldnt fix.The finish was flawless, beautiful guitar. The coil taps give you plenty of sound and tone options. The included case is a nice plus and a neccesity because the 24 fret neck dont fit in a standard les paul case. However the lid on the case could have fit a little better, its tight on one corner, but still closes. All in All Im happy I bought the guitar and am enjoying it.
Pros
- Fun To Play
- Good Feel
- Good Tone
- Very fast action
Cons
- Had a few scratces on it

Comments about Epiphone Prophecy Les Paul Custom Plus EX/GX Electric Guitar:
One of the best sounding and playing guitars I own (24).It is new and only the second time I played it (last night)it absolutely blew me away. This is right out of the box a super fast neck screaming monster of a guitar. This blows the Gibson les paul studio that I sent back right out of the water -- it was a clunker!?
