I own this guitar, and it is my favorite guitar ever. It's just as good as the Gibson SG, and it's very stylish. I love how it's lightweight, and sounds great. My friend has this amp, and it is beautiful, even though I prefer my Line 6. It is great for beginners and experts, and it has my recommendation.
I just got this guitar with the pack, and I must say that the Cherry finish is simply beautiful. I would recommend restringing the guitar also. I also like that his has 4 volume controls, very convenient. I dont like how it is hard to get down into the 19-22 frets, but who needs them?Overall, very good guitar, beats a Special II any day.
okey here is the deali've got this guitar with my birthday about 3 years ago.I learned how to play with it and has been trough everything with meok the tuners arent the best but hey for a first electric guitar this isn't bad :)now 3 years has past and the only thing i had to do is change strings (lot's of time's ;) ) and euh that's about it you can't go wrong with this guitar .the only downside is that the pickups aren't the best and this is not a guitar for extreme downtunings :)greets
the is an awesome guitar.this pack comes with everything you need.it also has great quality.
wy just get the 310 by it self when you can get this great deal i mean an amp, strap, stand, gig bag,amp cord, and picks i mean why not buy it
If you're looking for a value pack to get started, don't pass up this deal. You'll never get a starter set with this level of quality in the equipment. When I say "especially the quality of the amp" I'm not trying to knock the guitar. The guitar is great! The amp is better! The other gear is okay too. No other "value pack" has an amp this good.
Epiphone SG-310 Hi-Performance Electric Guitar Pack with Valve Junior Amp:Purchased 2 of these packages - one for the family (kids to learn on without touching my gear) and one intended to give to a nephew. This package exceeded all my expectations. The amplifier included is the V.3 (with the Eminence speaker and many popular mods incorporated) although the picture on the site shows the V.2 - it performs wonderfully and is worth the cost of this package alone. The guitar is comfortable with nice action out of the box. The strings are garbage. I will have a set-up professionally done on them to ensure they are adjusted perfectly for the Elixer Nano-Web Light strings I ordered when I ordered the package(s). Set-up is probably not necessary - it plays nicely out of the box - but when I order online I always have my local Luthier inspect and set-up the guitar within the first couple weeks so I can send it back before the 45 day deadline in case of any nasty surprises (hasn't been neccessary yet from musiciansfriend). The guitar has 2 pickups (neck and bridge - or treble and rhythm) with a separate volume and tone control for each and a 3 position selector switch to select one pickup, the other or both.I found the stand stable, the tuner adequate, and the strap is leather - not the style I prefer and lacking most features but will be fine for the kids. This package is so good I am seriously leaning towards keeping the one I bought for the nephew for myself and getting ordering him another one.You control this amps tone/sound by adjusting the amp volume and the guitar volume - ie. turn the guitar volume down and amp volume up to achieve more distortion - amp volume down and guitar volume up for clean. The amp volume is loud enough - equivalant to a 35 or 40 watt solid state amp at it's maximum. There is no headphone jack or individual EQ controls (see volume knob above). It has wonderful tones. The instrument cable is cheap but functional to start out with - replace with a quality cable as finances allow.I have not seen a better all-in one package at this price point. This package will carry the beginner through all levels without more than incidental investment on the way. For the experienced player ... this is a fun inexpensive package.
I just bought this guitar pack for my son. When I got it tuned and plugged in,WOW! Who would've thought that a 5 watt amp would sound so good?! And it's a tube amp!!!
First I bought the SG Special package. It was okay, the guitar itself, but the amplifier sucked. Then I saw this package and I thought, I've got money to waste, I'll give it a try. I got it and the guitar was double the talent of the Special, and the amps cannot be compared, you need this package.
I hadn't played an Epiphone for a long time and saw this pack with the valve jr., which is an amp I have wanted to try as for some time. I can honestly say that I got a great deal! I play all kinds of music from soft sweet to raw metal and I have to say that I haven't played through my tube amp in a long time because it is just too loud if I put the volume where it sounds good. This little valve jr. is great(a little dark sounding on it's own) especially if you have a floor usnit or some pedals to use in front of it to brighten it up a little. The guitar is great too. I could not expect more for the money I paid. I forgot how tube amps just naturally follow what ever you do. If you pick hard, you get attack. If you pick soft, it stays sweet. If you wiggle your finger, it wiggles back. I hope this helps anyone out who is thinking of buying a value package, look at these packs first, you will be happy you did. My GNX3000 is alive with response now as before through other amps I couldn't get the reaction to the way I was playing so I just didn't play....now I am and loving it!!!
