    Highest output Gibson pickups.

The SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar from Epiphone is based on the original SG design. But this Prophecy GX has 2 Dirty Fingers humbucker pickups. Other lavish, Prophecy features on this guitar include a highly figured quilt maple top, pearl knobs, strap locks, graphite nut, Grover tuners, a bound ebony fingerboard, unique blade inlay, and a deep, rich black finish. The hard maple set neck and 24-fret ebony fingerboard provide a playground two full octaves in length. The LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece add more sustain and make string changing easier.

The SG Prophecy guitar's Gibson pickups are extreme-output units designed for more of everything. Much more clarity and volume than a traditional humbucker and an incredible, aggressive, wide response. The Gibson Dirty Fingers pickup comes with a 4-conductor lead and is wax-potted to eliminate unwanted microphonic feedback. Coil-splitting options on both pickups mean you'll never run out of tone options.

    Great Guitar

    By thisguy22

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

I bought this guitar about two years ago, and it has not let me down at all. I have played a lot of guitars, and this plays better than most. Personally I think it plays better than a standard Gibson SG. If you are looking for a great SG, and still trying to save some money, look no further.

    Sg Prophecy

    By SGLUVR-LfKKi

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

I decided to wait to review this guitar until I had had it for a while, and now it's been about eight months so I figured I'd write it now. This guitar has some of the best features for the money I've seen, and I did a lot of research. That, coupled with the fact it is an SG, finally motivated me to buy it. The pickups are great, good distortion, very clear but also dark sounding, great for me. The coil tap gives very nice cleans, as do the pickups normally, just depends on your preference. The action was a bit high, and it needs to be set up to be able to lower it and avoid fret buzz, but most guitars need set up anyway so that's not too much of an issue. The neck is awesome, very thin and fast, makes moving up and down and shredding a breeze. The guitar itself is very lightweight, but as with all SGs is neck heavy. The tuners are very nice. The gold hardware really complements the color of the guitar. The finish HAS to be seen in person to truly appreciate it; the pictures do it no justice. One thing about the inlays is, everyone thinks they're lightning bolts and that's a tad annoying. Overall, though, I think this guitar is great for intermediate players looking to upgrade all the way to experts. Highly recommend buying.

    A must have!

    By TakeMeToTheSolo

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

This was my second guitar after owning an epiphone sg g400. The satin finish and slim profile on the neck make this guitar one of the fastest playing guitars i've ever held. It is slightly neck heavy, but thats expected with any sg. The coil tapping feature is incredibly useful, and the volume and tone pots are of high quality. Everything about this guitars hardware is top notch. Perfect for any style of music. I've played everything from blues, to country, to heavy rock on this with no problem whatsoever. Do yourself a favor and buy this guitar.

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

This guitar is absolutely astonishing... the sounds it can produce are phenomenal... it ca scream for metal and sound soulful enough for blues. The coil tap is awesome as well and the best thing about this guitar has gotta be the neck. Its smooth as it gets and has 24 frets (2 whole octaves) of awesomeness. This guitar is amazing, im saving up and getting it! Its not only amazing to look at, but amazing to hear and play as well!

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

I got this for Christmas last year and it has been in the same condition for almost a year now. I recomend buying this. It is pretty much a Gibson. The only bad part is that it is top heavy. Other than that, I recomend this guitar.

whole my life i have been playing on an Epiphone G400.. and this guitar is just awesome ! But i needed a second guitar for gig's.. so i bought this one, and what can i say .. I'll take my g400 as backup guitar and this prophecy as main ;) The EMG pickups are great ! and it just plays as good as the g400 .. Only here are 24 frets, EMG pickups, KILLER look, better fretboard etc etc . ;) just great

    The best guitar I own

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

I own 7 guitars and this is the one that I like the best. The other guitars that I own are a gibson SG custom, a Hammer Monaco III Custom, an American Fender Strat Deluxe etc... And You know what? this Epiphone SG is far better than the other expensive guitars that I own. Soundwise, the Dirty fingers pickups are totally versatile and give the right sound each time from single coil option to screaming distortion for ever. The neck is fast, setup to perfection. now, the finish of the guitar is gorgeous, no problem what so ever, beautiful wood tones. At the fraction of the price you can own a superb guitar that can rival any custom American axes. Epiphone did really well on the one.

    Just WOW!

    By Crazymountain

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

I have not figured out why this is not a $2500 Gibson. This guitar is a work of art, puts my Gibson Les Paul to shame. I have collected and played many guitars and this one is special. The finish, neck and the Tennessee set up were spectacular. The Dirty Fingers pickups with the coil tap allows for both the hot and heavy Humbucker sound and the Strat is right there also. It is my favorite and, although I just work in my studio these days, this is a guitar that I use on multiple tracks on my blues and rock. Spectacular guitar at ANY price.

    Sweet guitar.

    By Mr Pete

    from Virginia

Comments about Epiphone SG Prophecy Custom GX Electric Guitar with Dirty Fingers Pickups:

This guitar is sweet looking from the beautiful finish to the mother of pearl inlays. The action was to high, so I adjusted it down, and replaced the strings. No big deal, guitar sounds awesome.
