Very Happy with the Guitar- A 10 means, for this price range that this is a great guitar for the value---
If I was reviewing a Gibson or Martin - the numbers for review would be set for the price range of the guitar and what is in the same class of guitars. Well worth all of the pennies I saved.
Nice looks- light weight- I am a Acoustic Man- decided if I got an electric - it could not weigh a ton -like most soild bodies do. Yet still it is soild built. something if it fell I would not expect any damage.
everything perfect - no flaws - everything working well - no complaints
I have played high end Electrics - that do not compare to the looks and sound of this guitar.

I got this as my first guitar, and getting into guitar i couldn't have been happier. Two years later though, now that i know how to play and have played more guitars I am not as impressed with this guitar.First of all the finish is not what the picture implies, what it looks like is a wooden guitar, that has been dipped in resin, it feels like baked on suran wrap. Although it looks decent new, its shows all finger prints and scratches. Then if you bump it into the wall the finish is like a brittle shell and cracks. Also the wood is soft and dings very easily. It sounds ok, right now i have it running through a Peavy Rage 15 Watt amp, which is also crappy, but I have a Rocktron v50d amp on its way and I will follow up when I test it on that amp. Despite what previous review say, these pickups are wired very hot, they have a high output, which can be good and bad.The tuners are decent, I have to tune it ever couple of days. The volume and tone knobs are the cheapest they could get away with, and the shaft on my volume know keeps coming loose, causing problems, and when I apply pressure to the top of the know, I loose all out put from the guitar. And the neck is one thing that i failed to recongnise when i purchased this, first the neck is set to far into the body making the last 3 or so frets virtualy unacessable. Second the back of the neck has the same baked on suran wrap texture which is not to smooth and your had knid of drags on it which can slow you down.Lastley the bridge is poor quality, well its decennt but i have a lot of trouble because the saddle for my third string is defective and it rattle non stop.

Comments about Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar:
Great guitar for the price. Unbeatable price to performance ratio (especially if you can find them used).
thesunnspot.blogspot.com review on the Epiphone Special is exactly how I feel about these guitars.

Comments about Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar:
My first impression on opening the packaging was, "What a beautiful guitar!" The finish is perfect, the color is brilliant, and it just plain feels good to play. It feels like an SG without the cost of an SG. I am amazed and VERY pleased at the quality of the instrument for the price. I purchased with the Fender Mustang I and it makes a great starter set for a retired rock and roll drummer who always wanted to play guitar!!

Comments about Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar:
Okay, I've been playing guitar for two years, and do not consider myself an expert. This is my first electric guitar, and I love it. The picture looked great, in real life it is even more awesome. Great color, great finish, looks really solid and well made. Plug it into the amp I bought, a Peavey Vypyr 15, and in my humble opinion, it sounds great, too. I think I got a great deal for a great outfit, and couldn't be more happy with it.

Best pick up for the money and beats local prices where I'm at. My friend had the same model so after playing his I picked mine up and it plays like something worth four times or more the amount.

Comments about Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar:
I wanted the Gibson SG but is pricey so I decided to give EPI SG a chance. I played both the Gibson and Epiphone SG Special through a Marshall MG50CFX to compare both. The only thing the EPI-SG is missing is a clearer tone and punch that the Gibson SG has but the EPI still has great pick-ups. For the price, you can't beat the EPI-SG Secial as an entry level and/or practicing guitar. Excellent quality, straight easy to play neck, no fret buzz or burrs and get this... STAYS IN TUNE, even after 2 hours of heavy playing!
As with any guitar, always play and inspect it before you buy one. This is the best guitar I have ever purchased at this price!

Comments about Epiphone SG-Special Electric Guitar:
I bought mine used. The neck had been removed and someone had stripped the upper two screws from holding the neck in place. It was simple to fix.
I used some glue and two wooden match sticks.
Now I have the SG Special for about fifty bucks less than the new price. You can't beat that.
I've bought a few guitars and basses from MF in used condition. There has never been anything wrong with them that I couldn't fix. Now I have a cool SG that is set up for playing slide guitar. Nice big fat tone and I'm happy.
