Having played with Bigsby trems before, the first thing I did was replace the bridge with a Schaller Roller bridge. My Wildkat stays in tune even with alot of tremolo use. I found that to be the norm for Bigsby fitted guitars. Also the spring tension has to be adjusted by someone familiar with Bigsby trems. I have played Gibsons with the same problem.

Changed bridge to a Schaller roller bridge. Installed humbucking pick ups and all new electronics. Tightened loose screws, a bit of fret work and set up. Now I love it. The bones of the guitar are very good. It is a beutifull guitar. (mine is 2011 natural finish). I am considering buying a wine red now. Likely will need the same mods.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

I bought this guitar from MF about 5 years ago. So now that I've had ample time to live with it I can say that this is one of the best guitars I've ever owned in my 50 plus years of playing. The build is flawless, and the set up out of the box was spot on. I tweaked a few adjustments for my gauge, (10-49). The natural finish is awesome and brings out the real beauty of the wood. The frets, bindings and inlays are all done well, and all that chrome gives it that retro look.

The P-90's are just super, and I'll be the first to admit that you have to have a love of these pickups and not expect anything else from them. It does have some aspects of the weight and sustain of a Les Paul, and the looks of a Gretsch. This instrument is great for Rockabilly, and Blues, with an earthy driven sound that these Pups are known for. It wails out of my Fender Blues Jr, and just gives the sweetest tones out of my Ampeg Gemini II. All pots and the switch work great with no noise and the master volume is placed for easy access.

The Bigsby works as the Bigsby should. Sorry kids, this is NOT a whammy bar. It's old school Vibrato. The neck is just right for my hands. Solid and not too chunky. Grover tuners keep it on the money. The price is almost unbelievable for a guitar of this quality. The hard case is also built very solid and durable. This will be in my modest collection for years to come. Dig!

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

The guitar was pretty, except it was a little dirty and neck dogear had some corrosion on it. The sound was weak and flat. Had no distinct tone or power to it. Bad feedback when cranked up. Just poor quality. Low price and you get what you pay for. I returned mine.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

I purchased this for my son at Christmas. The first one shipped had one fret and the binding in the neck corroded. Apparently a worker had something on their hand during packaging. Musicians friend sent a return label immediately and 5 days later I received another. This guitar looked fine, I polished it up and did a good set up. During the cleaning I realized that the finish is paper thin and unless you use an actual polishing cloth it will scratch at the drop of a hat. Once I gave it to my son it was 10 minutes of playing and the pickup selector switch just broke off from the base inside the guitar. I said screw it and replaced it myself. Musicians friend as always gave fantastic service, they didn't make it just distributed the guitar. I have over 50 guitars and the last 4 years every Gibson and Epiphone I purchased has had issues. No more for me ever.

Like other guitars with this tail piece placed so close to the bridge, from the factory this does not stay in tune nor function as it should. There is a fix, you will have to search using the name of the tail piece, bigsby and add fix... you 'll find a you tube video.

Once this fix was installed along with a roller bridge, then she played well and stayed in tune.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

This guitar is wonderful for practicing, especially for the blues type of music that I play most frequently. While the Bigsby does affect the duration of its tuning, it does not seem to be much of a pain. It doesn't lend itself to string bends but since the Bigsby is there you can get similar effects anyway. I have the red finish and it is beautiful.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

I wish that level 1,2 and 3 damaged items would have a detailed list of what is damaged. My purchase was in need of the pick up casing to be soldered. I had to open the front of the guitar to find what needed fixing. The guitar otherwise would have a constant clicking noise when played.

Comments about Epiphone Wildkat Hollowbody Electric Guitar with Bigsby:

This guitar was something I was trying out to see if I could get away with not buying a gretsch, unfortunately it just doesn't measure up. It looks the part, is small, comfortable, it should have been a perfect match. But it just isn't, the electronics are so visible through the F holes that it was sad, guy behind me was returning his at GC because it just didn't have the depth and growl of a gretsch. Itd be great to hang on a wall, but that's it, the frets were junk, all at different heights and popping out unevenly. Pickups are weak at best. Dont be cheap, spend the extra cash on a gretsch and youll get the tone youd want out of this, and wont have the excess problems this one had.

Beautiful guitar but hated p90 sound. Not my taste. Some love em, I dont. Too dark and hot. Installed GFS fat mini's. Required new ring. That's hard part to find. Found what I needed at tvjones.com. Put on graph tech nut. Now she sounds sweet.
