Comments about Music Man Albert Lee MM90 Electric Guitar with Piezo Pickup:

I have had my Albert Lee MM90 w/piezo pickups for over two years now. So you can say that I've had alot of time to develop my impressions and put this guitar through its paces. Let me start with my favorite feature which is the blendable piezo pickups. By blendable I mean that you can isolate them to get a good acoustic guitar sound or you can blend them with the magnetic pickups. What this does is aloows you to add more bite to the magnetic pickups that lets you approximate a great (hot) single coil sound all the way to humbucker sound. In other words, you're not stuck with mid-rangey P90 sound. You can actually get an infinite blend between fat single coil to respectable humbucker sounds. This feature has made this my main guitar I take to jam sessions.

I won't go over the other features that I covered above, but will say that the super solid construction of this guitar combined with the ash body and maple neck, make it incredibly resonant even unplugged. This resonance transfers through the pickups for great tone and sustain. The locking tuners keep it in tune. If I could make one suggestion to Music Man, that would be to offer this guitar with a tremolo.

As you can tell, I've been super happy with my Albert Lee MM90. A long time collector of guitars, this instrument stacks up against my other guitars at twice the price. I think you'll be delighted with an Albert Lee MM90. I highly recommend this guitar!
The P90's on the Albert Lee are super quiet - no 60 cycle hum at all due to the silencing circuit and body cavity shielding. The piezo pickups reproduce a good acoustic sound. While control of the piezo tone output is fairly limited, if you play with the settings (rear mount) you can achieve a pleasing sound. This guitar has a stereo output, but you can also blend or individually control both the piezo and magnetic pickups for some great sounds. Slim and fast bird's eye maple neck with Ash body. Locking tuners.
Superb build quality. Top notch materials and electronics. Thorough attention to detail from the cavity shielding to the finish. This guitar feels and looks solid.
You're basically getting a boutique quality guitar for the price of a mass production instrument from the major guitar manufacturers.

Incredible Pro Instrument

Comments about Music Man Albert Lee MM90 Electric Guitar with Piezo Pickup:

This is a STUNNING work of art. I have played many different guitars over the years, usually picking a telecaster, but now, this Albert Lee guitar has become my favorite of all time. You can get MANY sound combinations from the three single coils and the piezo. You can easily get an electric/acoustic sound out of this guitar and with the two outputs you can accomplish this without ever changing a cord or guitar. The tone is off the hook, sounding better than fender or gibson guitars IMO. The Maple Neck is flawless; it is silky smooth and fast, and does not mire your fingers like new fender maple necks that have to have the varnish worn down. The guitar is not as light as I had anticipated, but is by no means heavy. In fact I think its the perfect weight; it feels like a substantial instrument so it feels more natural than a Parker, but its light enough to not break your back like a Les Paul. It came with a perfect setup. The action is incredible and the intonation was spot on. This is the first time I will not have to tweak with a guitar I've just bought to get appropriate action and intonation. The volume for the piezo pickup has more resistance than the soapbar knobs. Another nice touch for the overall feel of this guitar. Its perfectly balanced on a strap, It looks cool, the finish is amazing... I'm blown away.. If you're thinking about getting this guitar, then do it! After a lifetime of being a fender man, I'll never go back.

Comments about Music Man Albert Lee MM90 Electric Guitar with Piezo Pickup:

This review is about the Music Man Albert Lee with MM90 pups. I can't believe how many American Strats I have bought over the years that just don't cut it. Mine is Vintage Sunburst with a pearloid pickguard, white pickguard and black knobs. The only options are the color and thevibrato. I've been a Blues Rocker for 35 yearsand usually played humbuckers. Since most of the players I listen to are Strat players, I neededone in my home studio. It is said a lot, but this is truly the guitar I have been looking for! The MM90's really cut through any mix with plenty ofpower and clarity and brightness. The one volume, one tone setup really gives you great control. I could never understand the Strat setup. The neckradius of 10 is makes the MM90 so comfortable to play. I did change the 10 gauge strings to D'Addario 9.5's as I do a lot of whole note bends and have an arthritic left elbow, without and adjustments. All 5 pup positions are very usable. It really gives me that SRV sound in 4 & 5. The only Strats I have left are 2 Mexicans, one customized and signed by Buddy Guy and a Jimmy Vaughan, which I like but don't need anymore. There are only 2 things I would like to see: a Rosewood FB and a floating Trem. 3 weeks and it's #1 in my stable. BUY IT!!!!
