I have a high opinion since I've had mine for a long time. I got it while they still game with black hardware, but there is little difference. If you are into shred and don't want a floyd rose, this is pretty good. If you just want to play rhythm its good too. Sounds mean distorted and gorgeous clean. It handles down-tunings and hevy gauge strings well, and you can play almost anyway. ESP delivers even on the small brand and cheap front.
Its basic. Tone, Volume, Pick-Up selector. I've custom modded mine with a killswitch and I wish I had another volume switch, but it gets the job done. Pickups are find, but are worth replacing too. Adjusting the truss rod can be a pain same with intonation.
This was second guitar and has served me well for 4 years now. No serious problems. It has flown, been dropped, scratched a little, and survived bad climate. Still plays the same as when I first got it.
Still kind of steep for a beginner. Though, you can justify putting some money into it to make it a awesome guitar.

i've had this guitar for 8 months or so, and i have to tell you, i've really bonded to this guitar after all the work i've put into it. when it first arrived after 4 months of waiting (ESP had to catch up last xmas, must've gotten lots of orders for this one) the guitar had tremendous (basically unplayable) fret buzz, and also needed truss rod adjustment (i'm not a beginner musician, this was just the first GUITAR i bought). after a month or two, both of my knobs had just FALLEN off, no damage or hitting it against anything, they just FELL off. the guitar has really high action, and i can't lower the bridge to where i want it without getting fret buzz around the 9th through 15th frets. now the input is messing up on me, it wasn't giving any output before i went in and fixed it. but it still jiggles between output and little to no output. although i've had all these problems with the guitar, i would never sell it, it's become a part of me. it could've used a lot better craftmanship though, but this is by far the best value guitar you can get for the price, just took some adjusting. i plan to replace the pickups with some EMGs, but i've had this guitar for a while, and the factory pickups are quite good actually. i would highly recommend this as a first guitar, i'm sure my guitar just got messed up in shipment, i doubt it's with every model. if you have more money, try and go up a level or two on the F series, it's a shame they don't have the cherry red on the higher F series because it truly is beautiful. this guitar has been my best friend, i'll never sell it after i get my next guitar.

Comments about ESP F-50 Electric Guitar:

One of my old guitar teachers had a PRS Custom 22. I fell in love with that thing all over again every time I played it. The only problem was that 3,000 was way out of my price range. I spent long hours online searching for guitars that might be comparable to that amazing guitar. I came across this particular esp while looking at my options for any guitar in my price range. The first thing that captivated me was the looks. Anyone looking at this has got to admit that this guitar is absolutely unique in its appearance. so i looked into this guitar extensively on many different websites and forums. I had trouble finding very much negative in regards to this guitar. Well it just so happened that on vacation a few months later, I entered a music shop with this guitar hanging on the wall. As you can assume, this was the first thing I picked up, and I kid you not, I spent 3 hours playing this guitar in that music shop. I could hardly tell a difference between this guitar and my teacher's PRS!! I was so excited when I left the store!! Being 14 years old at the time, I had to talk to my dad about it, who told me he wasn't going to buy it. So I waited. for 4 years I waited for this guitar. Finally, I got it!! I have been playing it for over a year now and am extremely happy with it!! I am an active musician playing between 3 and 6 shows a week, and this guitar is has never let me down!! No major problems with it, but the few problems I have had are things like the jack coming loose, which is something that almost every guitar will encounter. Overall, This is an amazing guitar for people of all skill levels!! The fret board is super fast, the thin neck is great for shredding lead solos and the pick ups are deep enough to get some great chucks out of even an overdrive pedal!! No need for distortion with this ax, I promise that!! The clean tones are super warm and smooth through my fender superchamp tube amp. This guitar is so good that even my old teacher with the PRS was amazed at how smooth it was when he compared it to his guitar!! I say if you're looking for a new guitar for metal, for church, or anything in between, look no further, you've met your destination!!

I feel like i robbed the ESP guitar company with this for 300..

Comments about ESP F-50 Electric Guitar:

Im not gunna be an idiot like some others and say'this is better than gibson,or higher end guitars'because you get what you pay for,and no this cant stand up to a higher quality guitar, but for 300,icant get better than this.
          I give this a 8,only because the stock pickups aren't the best(muddy at times),i plan on changing.I wish I had a coil split,but for only 300, I wouldn't expect it to.
Iv had this for 3.5 years now,and its just as good-looking as the day ibought(Iv dropped few times, only one scrath on the back.)Its built better than my ibanez rg4ex1.
This thing is a breeze to play. Its got a wide fretboard with ex frets, making it superbly easy to play. Its got a great low end punch, thus great for heavier styles.I keep it in drop C because of its great low end.

          Great guitar

Comments about ESP F-50 Electric Guitar:

Ive had this guitar for over 4 years. For the price is a very good guitar as it is. I really like the playability of the guitar. The worst part of this guitar is the pick ups. They are decent pickups but if you change them it will really bring the guitar to life. I keep the guitar stock for a while but after changing the pickups it sounds as good as my ESP LTD EC-1000 Deluxe. I have a Seymour Duncan SH-1 '59 on the neck, and a EMG-HZ ,which is basically the passive version of the EMG 81, on the bridge.

The Best Guitar I've Ever Bought

Comments about ESP F-50 Electric Guitar:

I just Bought this from my local guitar store. I paid a hundred dollars for mine. I got it in black. I also traded in my Squire By Fender Stratocaster and my Epiphone Junior Les Paul. This is by far the best guitar I've ever owned. When I brought it home I had a hell of a time trying to put it down. I even nick named it the demon. I highly reccommed this guitar to anybody.

          Great guitar

          By heavy1

          from NY

Comments about ESP F-50 Electric Guitar:

Pros: -Looks cool. I like the body design and the high-gloss black finish. It is also very comfortable to wear.-The neck width and its extra-jumbo frets make it extremely comfortable to play.-Deep tone with lots of lows. I like to play it in drop c tuning to capitalize on this feature.Cons:-The pickups aren't very powerful. This is easily remedied by installing some new pickups. I put a Seymour Duncan Dimebucker into the bridge position and it took this guitar to a whole new level.-The jack is in an awkward place. If you play sitting down, the jack keeps knocking into the chair and your leg. Over time, the jack plate gets knocked loose, the sound dies out, and I have to fix it by re-tightening the jack plate and the jack ring.

          from Undisclosed

Comments about ESP F-50 Electric Guitar:

I bought this used, in brand new condition with no mods. It's a darn good guitar, with some great features. 24 Xtra Jumbo frets, which I love, fairly light body, a nice thin neck and awesome looks. The only things I don't like about this guitar are that the stock neck pickup can be muddy on the lower frets when distorted, especially with chords. Also, I wish it had separate volume controls for each pickup. All in all, it's a well-built instrument with VERY good looks and playability. It's a little pricey for a budget guitar, but then again it's not a $3000 fender. Good value for the money, and definitely not my last ESP guitar.
