Get all the string-sizzling style of Testament's lead guitarist at an affordable price.
As lead guitarist for legendary thrash metal band Testament, Alex Skolnick has high standards for his instruments. So, it's no surprise that the result of his collaboration with ESP has produced some incredible instruments that are equal parts shred-happy, great-sounding, easy to play and durable.
The AS-1 is the stripped-down, entry-level model of Skolnick's signature models, but it's still an instrument capable of greatness. It offers a mahogany body with a maple top finished in silverburst, set mahogany neck, 24.75" scale and 22 extra-jumbo frets on a rosewood fingerboard on a U-shaped neck. And a pair of Seymour Duncan SH-4 (B) & SH-1 (N) pickups pushes killer tone down your signal path. A TonePros tune-o-matic bridge and tailpiece anchor the strings to the body while Gotoh tuners keep everything cinched down and in-tune through heavy crunches and string-stretching leads.

Comments about ESP LTD AS-1 Alex Skolnick Electric Guitar:
I own LOTS of guitars, Several Gibson LPs, I would put this axe up against ANY LP I own or have played.
The craftsmanship of this guitar is excellent, The intonation and action was perfect out of the box!
Super precision all the way! The neck and overall feel of this beauty will blow you away! I got the silver burst and let me tell you, The pictures simply do not do it justice! The WOW factor is off the charts!
This guitar plays and sounds as good as a 3k guitar easily. Lastly, I am not a big fan of "Signature models" But being endorsed by Alex Skolnick does not bother me in the least as any experienced guitarist into JAZZ, Metal, Or rock knows the extreme skill and genius of Alex! Great job ESP!
