A sturdy rocker in a cool finish with a set neck and coil-tapping.

The ESP LTD EC-256 Electric Guitar is a classic-looking rocker perfect for gigging on a budget. It's a stage-worthy performer with its set-neck construction and maple top over an all-mahogany body. The rosewood fingerboard has 22 XJ frets accross a 24.75" scale length and is designed for speed and comfort. The EC-256 sports two powerful ESP humbucking pickups with a 3-way toggle switch, independant volume controls for each pickup and one master tone control with push-puill coil tap. ESP die-cast tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge add to the reliability of this affordable workhorse.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-256 Electric Guitar:

I recently picked up this guitar from the used wall at my local Guitar Center. I now own the LTD EC-256 MGO (which stands for Goldtop.) The color is the only feature of my guitar that is different from the guitar seen on this website. When I first picked up the guitar, I noticed that the tone knob and push/pull pot on my guitar were ineffective. No big deal for me, as it's a pretty simple fix. And GC was nice enough to knock off 10% of the price because of it! The fact that the tone knob didn't work indicated that the wiring maybe isn't the best, but the guitar is pretty dinged up, so I don't know what it may have been through in the past. I love this guitar. being the versatile instrument that it is, I play this thing in a hardcore band (think Code Orange Kids, Full of Hell, etc.) and I also play it in an indie pop band. In my own spare time, I like playing experimental jazz. It delivers great clean tones as well as gnarly heavy ones. Plays very very well. Intonation is spot on. There is very minor fret buzz on the third fret of the low E string, but one cannot hear it through an amplifier, so it's really no issue. This thing is built like a tank. At shows, specifically hardcore shows, things tend to get thrown around some. This guitar holds up great! The ONLY things that I'm not a huge fan of are the pickups. They're just a tad bit lacking in the tone department, but like I said, they still sound pretty decent. For this price range, the guitar as a whole is definitely a steal. I may be replacing pickups soon, but that is the only thing I desire to change.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-256 Electric Guitar:

Don't let the lower price-point turn you away from checking out this guitar. It is a "player" in every sense. Comfortable neck, excellent fretwork, great intonation along the entire neck. Lightweight, easy on the shoulder but the best surprise is the coil-tap feature. I played this through a Fender Twin at the store and not only does it provide beefy humbucker tones but the tap ability gives up a sweet Strat-like quack. This is a SOLID gig-worthy working tool. You won't be disappointed.

Comments about ESP LTD EC-256 Electric Guitar:

There are not too many reviews out on this guitar so I thought I would throw a quick one in.
You will not be disappointed if you are looking for an LP style guitar for a bargain price.
In my opinion and after owning some of the other lower end guitars this one is way above the pack.
It does not come across as cheap in any way. It feels good, sounds great even with these stock pickups. The push/Pull feature really expands your tones on the fly.
I can't speak of longevity yet, but if this guitar doesn't start falling apart it will be one of my best gear purchases ever.
If this is an indication of the entire LTD line, I think I just found an affordable line of guitars to start collecting!

Comments about ESP LTD EC-256 Electric Guitar:

I've played this guitar a couple dozen times at my local GuitarCenter and absolutely love it.It is a massively versatile guitar doing excellent ranging all the way from Kenny Wayne Shepard and Lynyrd Skynyrd to stuff as heavy as Metallica, Godsmack, and Lamb Of God with surprising ease.It has great balance and in my oppinion is much more comfortable than a Les Paul and only a fraction of the price. My only complaint is that the top hat style knobs make it a bit awkward when splitting the coils but this is a very simple fix. Still I cannot wait until I have the extra cash to pick one up for myself.
