Comments about ESP LTD H-1007 7-String with Tremolo Electric Guitar:
I have been playing guitar for 30 years. I own USA-made Jackson and Gibson electric guitars, among others, and I used to work in the guitar department of a music store. What I'm saying is that I've put my hands on a LOT of guitars in the past three decades. In all my experience I have never played a nicer guitar than my new ESP LTD H1007FR!!! When I first pulled it out of the box it was still in perfect tune and after looking it over and playing it for several hours, it has become my all-time favorite guitar. I should add this, too: it takes a lot to impress me, but ESP has done it!
I am a pro guitarist and play through a Marshall TSL100/1960A or a Krank Rev+/1960A depending on the situation. The H1007 sounds stellar through both rigs and has the heavy, chunky, fat tone you'd expect from a high quality electric guitar and sounds lush and sweet on the TSL100 clean channel.
Overall, if you love quality craftsmanship, tone, and guitars and you're looking for a rock solid guitar with a great price tag, this is the one to go for. It kicks butt!!!!
The ESP LTD H1007FR has everything a metal guitarist would want for brutal low-end crunch to soaring leads. It sounds heavy through distortion and clean as a summer day when played on a clean channel. The Floyd Rose stays in tune and is smooth as butter. The EMG pickups are great and the 7 strings are awesome.
The guitar is heavy and solid as a rock, every bit as thick and solid as my Jackson KE2 or RR1. The quality of construction, from the flame maple top, to the set-thru neck, the binding, clear coat, inlays, finish work and setup is top notch. Korean guitar makers are every bit as good as USA builders and I don't think anyone could argue that. And for this being a production guitar, that says a LOT in my opinion. There is nothing whatsoever about the H1007FR that feels cheap or wrong or in need of fixing, though I should mention that I needed to take some sandpaper to the EMG 81-7 bridge pickup to smooth out a molding ridge on it that I found annoying when soloing. On a scale of 1-10 for quality, this one rates a 10+. I'm blown away!
The Floyd Rose is one of the less expensive versions, but feels every bit as solid as the Original Floyd Rose trems on my other guitars. Though it will be interesting to see how sweat and whatnot affect it in comparison. Sweat corrosion and grime seem to be the nemesis of all my trems.
The ESP tuners are sweet, solid, and work great. I will be replacing the strap buttons with Schaller Strap Locks though.
Value, wow! Yes! I spent a lot on a new Jackson KE2 several years ago and though it has been my favorite guitar until now, the H1007FR has taken its place. I mention the KE2 because the cost of it is more than twice the cost of the H1007FR yet the quality of the ESP is every bit as good as the Jackson, if not better. I think that if this ESP were made in the USA instead of Korea, the price would probably be bumped up to the higher range. And if this were a "USA Made" Jackson, they'd probably charge more for it.
The quality IS amazing. It's a crime to deny that other countries can build guitars of the same caliber and quality as the USA. In fact, there is a spot on my KE2 where the fretboard binding meets the body (near the neck pickup) that was not completely finished, or was improperly finished. The finish is rough where it ought to be a smooth transition from the fretboard binding to the body. The ESP is flawless in the same area... in fact, the ESP is flawless all over.

over all i have been completly satisfied with this guitar. that is it. PERIOD!!!!!
set neck
3- way switch
floyd rose 100 locking tremolo system
emg 81/7 in the bridge
emg 707 in the neck
i have played two seperate ibanez rg 7 string models wich are not a bad starter 7. and recently perchased the ltd h-1007 7string. i absolutley love the sound of the pickups for low end tuning sach as drop a which i play it gives power and crunch in one. looks like a guitar that should be played brutaly. and has a great feel to it. the neck is a nice smoth profile easy for runs. sweeps. or nasty chug riffs. if time is spent with the tremolo. and no want to switch tuning the floyd rose is the way to go. over all it is well worth the money and anyone playing metal will love the sound quality of it its brutal as hell.
absolute great value for everything that comes with the guitar. from the pick ups to the tremmolo to the body and the neck. its truly the total package and a must for any 7 string player
