OVERVIEW

A double-cutaway with EMG pickups.

The ESP LTD HH-401NT electric guitar features a sleek double-cutaway mahogany body. The maple through-body neck has a thin U-shaped contour with a satin finish and 24 extra jumbo frets resulting in a perfect combination of ultra-comfortable feel and fast playability with the added benefit of extended upper register reach.

Equipped with active EMG pickups, this guitar takes full advantage of pairing the high-end cut and fluid sustain of an EMG-81 in the bridge position with the muscular growl and smooth lead tones of an EMG-85 in the neck position. Case sold separately.

Comments about ESP LTD MH-401 Electric Guitar:

LTD has always been a solid brand for providing cheaper guitars that make the grade when it comes to metal enthusiasts. This guitar is no exception. The overall build quality is excellent. It plays metal and other rock at any level of gain, and the EMG pickups do an excellent job of creating that wicked-hot satanic sound you're looking for. I hear no fret buzz, have no problems keeping the guitar in tune, and it's one of the easiest guitars to change strings on as well. It shreds like a champion, and I would recommend this guitar for anybody looking to max out their performance with a budget maximum of 700 wing-wangs. Good luck finding anything better to play metal on at this price.

There are virtually no cons with this guitar at this price range. Would I like an Ebony fretboard? Yes. Would I like slightly better internal electronics to match the tone quality of a $4000 ESP? Yes. Can I get them in a guitar for under 700? No way. So I get (more than) what I pay for by buying this axe instead, and I don't regret it at all.

Shreds solos and riffs like a beast, looks sexy, and is a decent price. Can't really ask for more.
