Let me just start off by saying I HATE LES PAULS! I first tried this out at a music store with a negative attitude towards it. It looked like just another crappy les paul copy, but it's not! This guitar is incredible! The notes are clear through just about every amp I've used. Neck-thru was a must for me. the only thing that would make me give this a ten is if it where an archtop. other than that, this guitar is killer. another great ESP!
this guitar plays as smooth as butta and is extremely comfortable. it is also perfectly weighted and isn't neck-heavy. the floyd rose is also very nice and never gets the guitar outta tune. you will tune this guitar about as much as you tuna fish...this is definitely a must buy.
it's the best looking and most comfortable guitars i have ever held. the sound is incredible.
This guitar has the perfect combination of features for my needs. It is 24 3/4 inch scale, so my stubby little digits have an easier time navigating the fretboard than a 25.5 inch scale. It has a real Floyd Rose, which is higher quality than the low-end "licensed" Floyds. The guitar refuses to go out of tune! The fit and finish are excellent, except for a small space on either side of the nut that looks like it shouldn't be there, but I am being picky. The EMGs provide incredibe metal punch, sustain, and definition. It is well balanced, but perhaps a little heavy for some players. It is neck-through construction, whereas the more expensive custom-shop version is a bolt-on, which I don't understand. I have had it for over two years, and have had no problems. The only things I would change: The battery compartment would have a latching door instead of a plate held by screws, and the volume knob closest to the bridge pickup would control that pickup. The guitar is well balanced, and the spider/skull inlays are nicely done and look cool! I play metal/punk/garage (not terribly well) through a Boss GT-8 pedal board and a vintage 1971 Marshall Super Lead 100 half-stack. At first I felt it was a lot of money for a Korean guitar, but I have decided it doesn't matter where it comes from. Overall, a very satisfying instrument.
This is a great instrument for a decent guitarist to a serious guitarist. It is very lightweight and a extremely versatile guitar. I can pick it up and play MetallicA or Megadeth and then make a quick tunning change and play some Zeppelin or some B.B. King. Good price, good features, overall a good guitar.
I absolutely love this guitar. I had the opportunity to go to the San Francisco Grammy Awards to meet Metallica, Carlos Santana and Micky Hart among other great artists. This guitar was sold at the auction to raise money for a music school for children. This guitar came signed by the band and barely won the high bid (thank god for tax writeoffs) and I wanted it with the full intention that I would play the H*** out of it.It has been more than I have hoped for. Having 15 or more guitars hanging around it has become my most played. Combined with my Zakk Wylde signature series Marshall amp...the sound, sustain, and quick action has made it a joy to play and has made me a better guitarist.Any of the Kirk Hammett signature series would be a plus for your collection. I will buy another.
