Let me start by saying I got this guitar for about 100 really. I had about 120 in backstage pass points and I bought it as an open box item which saved me about another 100 . There was supposed to be a minor scratch on the top and back of the guitar, but I'm not sure what they'r talking about because I have yet to find a scratch.

This was my first floyd rose, so I did not know what i was getting into. It took me about two days to get the bridge flush with the body of the guitar and the strings tuned. After I finally did, I plugged it in and it sounded awful. Unpleasent tone, dull and muddy all around terrible sound. I shouldve just changed the strings to start with but i was anxious to play. But a string broke on the second day so i changed the strings, so i had to do the whole process over again (I changed gauge strings so bridge was no longer flat w body). once the strings settled it sounded much better then originally, but i still wasnt happy with the sound. The intonation was also off so the low e sounded out of tune on the higher frets.

About a month later I had a Dimarzio Super distortion pickup installed in the bridge and a Paf Pro in the neck, and had the guitar set up by the local luthier. Now it has lived up to all my hopes and dreams, Its my baby. I play rock, blues, ska, and anything really and it sounds great for every genre ive used it for.

So it has the potential to be a great guitar, but you have to be willing to put money in it. I payed about 100 for the guitar, about 85 for each pickup, 50 to have the pickups installed and another 100 to have the guitar set up (he charged more because of the floyd rose). So overall I payed about 420 (ha) to get the guitar to my liking. I am very happy with my purchase, but if i had payed full price for the guitar (i think its 329 rn) I would not be nearly as happy. (it would have costed me 650 for everything then).

my advice: CHANGE THE STRINGS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SETTING UP FLOYD ROSE AND TUNING

I got mine roughly six years ago, so the build may have improved since then, but here is my experience.Floyd Rose "Licensed" certainly does not equal Floyd Rose. The tremolo is unusable. Even if I bend a note too far, it goes out of tune. That may largely be attributed to the soft wood. The posts flex in the wood and make returning to a zero point pretty much impossible. My neck had a slight twist to it. That most likely won't be a common problem and I could have remedied it had I discovered the problem before the warranty ran out. I've had it set up 4 different times and cannot get the action I like. Fretting out and buzzing abound unless I have the strings really high. The pickups are average. Not bad for the price. I put SD Distortions in it and it sounds pretty good when it's in tune.It looks great and the neck feels very nice and plays fast. If it weren't for the twist, it would be a very good neck.Mine may have been an isolated experience, especially with the neck, but these are the risks you run with a cheaper guitar. It's a decent guitar for the money, but make sure you check the neck when you get it as well as the tremolo.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar for the price. The only things I had an issue with was setting the zero point on the tremolo and the springs on the tremolo made noise. If I did a dive bomb when it returned to zero point the springs would make a clunk sound. Very annoying but I think it has gone away after some use. I would think the factory would setup the tremolo but how can that be done when the strings are not stretched either? Anyway no big deal if you know how to do a setup. You can't beat this guitar anywhere for the price. I'm pretty happy with it. I've had Jackson Dinky guitars and Ibanez RG and JS guitars and other then maybe new pickups sometime I'm happy with this guitar. I would buy another one of these in a second.

My Review of the ESP LTD M-100FM

By Ibanez JR.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

Overall it's a decent guitar.
This guitar is just an okay guitar for someone like myself. I like to play a lot of different tunings.
The build of the guitar has great quality compared to a lot of other guitars that I have played and owned before. It feels right. It's not to heavy, not to light. Doesn't make your back sore after playing for hours on end. Which is always a plus. The neck is pretty smooth but not the smoothest. That's just my opinion. The headstock is sleek and makes tunning seem a little more simplier than a standard tune key like on a Gibson or something such as that. The Trem it's self works flawlessly. My guitar never come outta tune no matter how many dive bombs I throw into one run or song. Which as we all know is a plus.
If you are strapped for cash and don't mind the lock tuning, than go for this guitar. Somewhere down the line you might want to replace the Pickups. But that depends on what your set up is. I've heard people complain that the pickups suck but they sound great through my set. Which is listed above if you are curious.

Amazing guitar for the money.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar and I would recremend it to any hardcore guitar player.
The neck is extremely comfortable and perfect for shrailing on. It has a slick feel to it and is good for fast playing. The thing I dont like about it is the lock tuning. I like to putmy guitar in different tuning and that is really annoying to have to deal with but its all personal preference.
The pickups are perfect for metal. My old guitar is a Fender Squire strat, a really cheap one too. So I wasn't expecting how good the guitar sounded. I loooove it. The clean isnt bad at all either.
I think its amazing for the price.

I needed a backup guitar but didn't want to spendmuch money. This guitar was perfect. After a setup it plays like my $800 Epi! Pickups are not great but given some drive they have a nice mellow lead sound so whatever. Buy Now!

i have owned this guitar for about 6 to 7 years now. i love the fretboard on this thing. i can play all bodom solos with ease /m/. its never given me any problems and the hardware is pretty durable. the pick ups do sound muddy through a high gain amp, but if you have the money to put better pick ups then do it! this is a great guitar for any starter and advances players

Great Guitar

By Sickman-eJf3U

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This is about the best guitar you can get for $300. A few people said that the Floyd Rose goes out of tune and either I have an older model with a different set-up or they don't know what they are doing. The Floyd Rose on mine is great and it never goes out of tune. It takes awhile to get used to changing strings and adjusting the bridge to your tastes (if you don't know what I am talking about DO NOT get a Floyd Rose guitar because you will spend a ton of money on labor at your local guitar shop).Anyway, for the money this is a great guitar. I use mine over my Epi most of the time and I paid twice the money for that one. I like it too but I can drop this one and not really worry about it.

I bought this guitar almost 3 months ago. it holds up extremey well. I had changed the pick ups to HZ series EMG, and that basicly makes the guitar the same as the M-200FM. I strongly recommend this guitar for people who want to play harder rock and lead.

I got this guitar roughly 2 years ago.....and i still love it. The this flat neck is PEREFCT for me. The Floyd Rose keeps me in-tune nicely. I honestly only tune about once a month or when i'm recording. The action is very very low which is great for shreading.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I've already written a review for this guitar, but I've had it over a year and it's time for the long term review. First off I rated this guitar pretty poorly the first go round, but since have had a change of heart. I had all my problems fixed by ESP through the warranty(ESP customer service rocks!) This guitar was modded by me with Rockfield Fatass in the bridge, and Mafia in the neck positions. Totally changed the tone of this to a raging beast. Next I blocked up the Floyd and sustain went up 100%. I can only dive bomb now, but you can't have everything. The action on this guitar is FAST and SWEET! My set up gets a LITTLE buzz from the strings past the 12th fret, but I can't even hear it, unless I'm not playing through an amp. I also own an LTD EC500, and Jackson KV10. I still pick this guitar up first. The unfinished(oiled) neck just feels nice. The action and tone can't be beat(with the above mentioned mods), and for the price I paid, I'm going to buy the see through black cherry finih, and sell the Jackson. ESP guitars are WAY better than any Jackson. If you buy this guitar, and set it up properly(the owners manual is pretty thorough as to how to do this, but I suggest taking it to a reputable luthier), you will not be disappointed, except maybe by the pups. They just didn't have enough balls for me and my style of music. But they don't sound "bad", just not my cup of tea. Try this guitar before buying something else, I promise you won't regret it.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

This guitar looks very similar to the Kirk Hammett KH-2. The only difference is the pickups and the skull inlays. Kirk's also has a second tone knob. If you dont want to pay the extra money for the KH-2, buy this guitar and just upgrade the pickups to some EMG actives.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar roughly 5 days ago and returned it after I saw what a pain it was to tune, and set a Floyd Rose. The neck is great, very thin and flat, the 24 jumbo frets are perfect for solos, and the pickups were a great deal for people who can't afford to pay almost the price of the guitar for EMGs or Seymour Duncans. The stock ESP tuners were surprisingly great, they were nice and tight and hit the mark well. My only complaint is not even a flaw in the guitar, it's the fact that I have to detune quite a bit, didn't have 80 bucks to throw into a D Tuna, and can't afford to change strings every 2 weeks cuz the floyd abuse... this is a great guitar for the metal enthusiast with the patience to own a floyd rose.. I highly recomend this guitar.

Comments about ESP LTD M-100FM Electric Guitar:

I had played this guitar before I thought I was going to buy it. It has a super fast neck and can stay in tune. But, the humbuckers are poor quality. You can't really hold a squeal without the strings buzzing out. I decided to buy the m-200fm with EMG's. Hopefully this is a better decision. Make good decisions when buying this guitar.

I bought this guitar for an inexpensive second guitar. But, this guitar plays and sounds so nice that I will be using it for much of my primary work. This guitar feels so solid that you would easily think you were playing a guitar that cost 3X the price. Highly recommended as a back-up guitar, inexpensive first guitar, or even a main guitar.
