My favorite guitar at the moment

By big_drill_car

from Minneapolis

I had G.A.S. for an ESP Horizon NT2, but like most people, the local dealers rarely carry ESP standard models. Anyways, they had this guitar in stock. I played it for about 5 minutes and was sold. I prefer the color of this to the ESP standard & I also prefer the EMGs over the duncans. This is an extremely comfortable guitar.

Ok, I have had this guitar for about a year, well, I am a gigging musician who knows everything about everything music. I have played literally hundreds of guitars, and this takes the cake. I have had several esp's, not ltd's, esp's, and this played better than my custom eclipse, and my horizon. I also have had a few ltd's, and I like this the most. The action is flawless, the pickups are versatile, the quality is just incredible. I have played prs, ibanez, jackson, fenders, nothing ever held a candle to this guitar. It does have alot to do with personal preference as well, if you don't plan on playing hard and fast, get a gibson or fender. I like this guitar so much that I plan on getting another with the floyd, and heck maybe another without.

Best I ever owned

It's simple. Light weight, killer neck, bad a** pickups, beautifull, and you can shread on it all day. I have to say this piece of wood is better than any jackson or any metal guitar out there now. Like I said, it's that simple.

If there is anyone out there who is confused over which guitar is right for metal...BUY THIS GUITAR. leads sound faster and the clarity is excellent. Feedback is ELIMINATED. By far the best metal guitar in the price range.

I love this axe. The emg's make this thing screem. Kind of noisy if you are'nt an active pickup guy, but the sound more than makes up for it. Get a noise suppressor if it really bothers you. Very light in weight which is nice during long practice/studio sessions or live gigs. Very easy to play and very fast neck. I actually re arranged the pickups around so that the 85 is in the bridge and the 81 is in the neck. It gives a little fuller sound and I love it. A little pricy for a non standard model but Esp's ltd 400 line is darn near a standard. I was very happy when they came out with this non trem model, the trem isnt very useful for the style/role of music I play. Get one if you can...

5 stars all around. Excellent quality and value. This guitar should cost twice as much. The neck is smooth as better and the emg's roar. If you play metal and beyond get this bad boy. It will not disappoint.

My lord I have found the answer!

After searching for months for a new guitar (and repeatedly changing my mind) I finally found the guitar for me. With it's EMG 81/85 (newer versions come with this setup) it is a heavy metal "power house". But when you switch to the 85 on clean you get the most beatuiful clean you have ever heard, only even comparable to a SD Jazz. This guitar is EXTREMELY affordable, even Gibsons or Fenders that cost three or four times the amount of money do not come with the as good features as esp's ltd series. So all in all i recomend this guitar for anyone looking for an awesome guitar at a price that wont kill your bank account.P.S. The main picture placed on this site for this guitar is not the correct one, look at the zoomable picture, that is the one that is right. P.P.S ESP's LTD line has a variety of guitars in it's "400" section that are as good axes as this one. ESP ROCKS!

Incredible guitar

I've owned this guitar for almost a year now and it has never disappointed me. It's extremely light and slightly smaller than most guitars, so you can really throw this thing around on stage. The playability of this thing is like silk. Completely comfortable access all the way up to the 24th fret (I can sweep up on 20 with no problem), amazingly fast, thin neck (not too thin like a Jackson), and great solid construction. The tuners are great. The craftsmanship is top notch, and that brings me to how this guitar looks. BEAUTIFUL. The picture of this thing is pure crap and I have no idea why it's still up on here. The guitar is extremely dark grey (pretty much black), not the disgustingly bland red that's shown in the picture, and the quilting is gorgeous. This guitar also has wonderful tone, distorted (of course. ESP+EMG=distortion), AND clean. The EMGs are actually extremely versatile and really can give a very warm, beautiful clean tone if you know how to EQ your amp right. So basically, if you don't have a million dollars for a guitar, and you hate tremelos and and Floyd Rose bridges, and you love playing metal, but also a bit of indie/ambient stuff from time to time (this is all me), BUY THIS GUITAR. I love it to death.
