This was my first guitar purchase. My other guitar was a Squier Strat I got for christmas. A must needed upgrade =)First of all, I was very impressed with the speed of delivery. I chose free shipping but I had a processing center one state away. Came in less than 24 hours! Nice Job MF!Now for the guitar. The guitar was very nicely setup out of the box, I have done nothing to it yet. The action was perfect. Nice and low the way i liked it, perfect for playing metal and other technical styles. There is a little more frett buzzing than i like, but you dont hear it when it plugged into an amp so its all good. The reviews where people say its a heavy guitar must not know what they are talking about. Its more or less medium weight.the neck is about medium too. Great feel, great tone. the clean tone surprised me it sounds really good. I plugged it into my friends Line 6 spider IV half stack and it sounded really good. Stays in tune very nicely. the tremolo is badass, i can do some sick divebombs and slayer solos.I will have to take it somewhere to get it setup probably since I plan to put heavier gauge strings in it. I use ernie ball power slinkys...gives it an extra "crunch". Ill do that when these factory strings start to get old.I researched alot into a guitar that had a strat body with a good tremolo and didnt cost alot. If you play metal...This guitar is for you. Good thrash/groove sound. I play alot of slayer, exhorder, metallica type stuff. Now i just need a good combo amp and ill be in business!

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar used but still in great condition. I love the Floyd Rose nut, stays in tune great but is a project when trying to replace strings.

This is also an incredibly versatile guitar with its 5 channels. The guitar is great for everything I play; jazz, rock, and metal.

The action is great, low without any buzzing. It really feels good to play.

    Great Guitar

    By James Henderson

    from Florida

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

I had been palying the same Kraemer guitar for over 20 years. After handing it down to my son, I went looking for a new guitar. The MH-53 was a great price and I was interested in the maple neck. I have had it a few months now and I am impressed. The neck is fast and smooth. I like the jumbo frets and going up to 24 is fun. I wasn't real impressed with the humbucker pickup at first, but I then turned the tone all the way up and it is sounding good. The best part is the tremelo. I dive bomb a lot and it will not go out of tune.

I tried out a lot of guitars at many price points. The MH-53 is a fantastic value. I highly recommend the guitar.

    darn it!

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

overall i like it... it looks super mean and glossy... the finish is quite nice.. but if you get a chance id say play it first to see if you fit wit it... seems like a kindof odd guitar really since that mid pickup is where it is... im thinking about just removing the dern thing
i love this guitar... fast jumbo frets... light, easy to play, sounds fine... the single coils are consideably quieter than the duel coil... but eh.. whatevs... the ONE complaint that i have, other than the sorta cheap feel to the floyd rose trem (which stays in tune mind you!) is that when im picking this thing i keep hitting the blasted middle single coil with the pick... gets on my freaking nervs...
decent quality... mid range... it doesnt feel super solid... but it doesnt feel super cheapy either...
pretty darn good bang for your buck... still tho buying something better but used would be a smarter buy... you could pay the same for a used ibanez or like something else ESP makes for the same price that is of a bit higher quality, but just used... i got this cause i got a deal

for the price - this is exceptional

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

Former professional musician. Used to own some nice floyd-rose equipped guitars in the 90s, wanted to get back into that style again now after many years of more commercial pop oriented music.Got this basically for free, used, in trade for some rack gear from my studio that I had zero use for any longer.Needed a setup VERY BADLY - this was obviously made on an off day in the factory in china :-). Frets were bad, a couple were so high that a couple of notes weren't playable, lots of buzzing, action was all over the place, high e string kept breaking at tuner (no, I wasn't tightening it with the lock engaged... just a rough edge in the tuner).NOW after doing a setup on this guitar (myself), filing the high frets, lowering the bridge to where it should be, leveling the bridge, throwing a dimarzio EVO pickup in the bridge space (although stock pickup is a pretty good imitation of an EVO sound it turns out...), adjusting pickup heights, replacing strings (a few times)... this thing is now a KILLER guitar.Total cost to me? $40 for a used evo pickup... which isn't even that necessary unless you want a bit more bite and dynamics in your heavy lead playing. After getting this, wondering if I should bother working on it in the unplayable condition it was in, I tried the same model (well setup) at a music store and the much more expensive ($750) model in the same LTD MH line. There were subtle improvements only in teh much more expensive guitar. bigger FR sustain block, neck through, emg pickups, fancier finish and inlays. all but the looks/neck through are just upgrades to this same guitar really, so I put the work in to it and it's paid off.FAR better guitar than it deserves to be. I'd have to pay $600+ in the new market to get something slightly better, $1000+ to get something noticeably better. So why bother? This is a very very good guitar. I'm blown away!

    Pretty nice!

    By Jon H.

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays quite nice. Has a "soft C" neck, not too flat, kind of like a Strat. Works well for rhythm guitar like I play and still leaves room for shredding if that's what you do. Fit and finish are good for this price range. Trem stays in tune. Stock PUs are good, although I put a Tone Zone in all my guitars and will put one in here as well because I love those pickups. The single coils I'll leave stock. Made in China, unfortunately but that's the way of the world today, my Crate is too. Still a nice axe, looks and plays great, I'll keep this one a while! Like all new guitars, put a good set of strings on before you set it up.

    I Love My Guitar

    By Allen Elgin

    from Carbonado, WA

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

I purchased one of these ESP LTD MH-53 guitars about 3 months ago. This is the first guitar I've ever purchased. My old Les Paul copy's frets were completely worn down and I needed something inexpensive and nice to play. First of all, I was extremely impressed with the packaging this came in. I think I had to open 3 boxes just to get to the guitar.Because of all the adjustments on this guitar, I was expecting to have to do a lot of setup work to get this to play enough for me to initially try it out, but I was most pleasantly surprised to find it was not only already set up, but it was already almost perfectly in tune as well.Since then I have put on a much heavier set of strings. The guitar came with an extra spring for the vibrato that was easy to install and worked perfectly with the heavier strings.Because I'm a little strange, and I don't like locking nuts, I took them off. It took me a few hours of playing after putting new strings on it to keep it in tune, but once I did, I found I can grab the vibrato and wiggle it all over the place, going way, way down and even upwards, stretching the strings quite a bit, and it stays in perfect tune. The specifications of the neck are almost exactly like my old Les Paul copy, besides the 2 extra frets, so it felt comfortable and didn't take me long at all to get used to - besides the two extra frets throw me off a little, but at the same time add some extra wonderment to the experience of playing this guitar.I think I'll eventually replace the pickups with something a little hotter, but the pickups it comes with are very nice, especially for the price of this guitar. And because of the pickup configuration, along with the 5-way selector switch, I can make this thing sound like a Strat, a Les Paul, and anything and everything in between.Overall, I could not be any happier with my purchase. This guitar puts a huge smile on my face every time I pick it up and play it. I have to be careful because time flies a little too quickly when I play it. I think I've fallen in love with this guitar. What more can I say?

    More than worthy...

Comments about ESP LTD MH-53 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about six months ago at a local Guitar Shop after an uncle of mine bought his own. Upon buying this guitar I already realized that it was well worth the money I was paying. Even after all this time of CONSTANTLY playing all different types of music from Heavy Metal and Death all the to Blues and Accoustice the guitar has still held it's shap and sound. AMAZINGLY great price for AMAZING sound, I recomend you buy it.
