Comments about ESP LTD MP-200 Michael Padget Signature Electric Guitar:
For a mid level guitar, I find this to be an excellent choice. It's got a flawless design and features (other than the confusing knobs), excellent sound, and looks that could kill. My only complaint about the shape of the guitar is it is horribly akward to play without a strap, and is difficult to get used to playing when sitting down. This guitar is well worth the price tag, and you won't regret buying it.
This guitar has two volume knobs, a tone knob, and a selector switch with 3 settings; the bridge pickup, the neck pickup, and both of them together. The guitar has thin, plastic like covers on the pickups if bought new. The graphic on the guitar is beautiful, and the neck and body are all a glossy black color. It's nice to have 24 frets, considering i switched to playing this instead of an Ibanez GRX-20, which only has 22. The 12th fret inlay is a crystal-like rectangle that has the MP-200 title in the center of. The side of the neck is white (although the back of the neck is glossy black) and the guitar has a white pinstripe along the head. The only reason i didn't rate a 10 of 10 for features is the volume and tone knobs can be confusing at first, as they're not labeled and are easily confused with each other. Also since this is my first flying v guitar, it was hard to get used to the shape, as it's akward to play while sitting down, especially without a strap.
This guitar is fantastic. It's actually much better quality than what the picture shows. The body is solid, the neck is also solid, there's no feedback or humming noises, the stock strings are decent, the tuning gear is nice and sturdy (the tuners aren't loose and they don't wobble), the knobs and selector switch all feel great and sturdy...basically there's nothing wrong with the guitar. I love the pickups, but that may be just cause the grx-20's are kinda suckish.
I have no regret whatsoever in buying this guitar. It's worth every penny spent, and everything on it is simply beautiful. Just to clarify, it is a lot better of quality than what the picture shows from this website. It's just gorgeous, and the pickups are amazing. Like i said, there's no humming, nothing came defective after it was shipped, the tuning gear is a dark metallic grey (which i prefer a thousand times over chrome), and everything is sturdy on it. I also like the bridge, I prefer it a lot than the other bridges with tremelos on guitars. I'd highly reccomend this guitar for anyone who wants a good guitar for a lower price.
