Overall, this is a very versatile guitar. Pinch harmonics, sweeping, alternate picking, ANYTHING. This thing does em all extremely well and holds up great. Not to mention the price, it was worth EVERY penny, after swapping the pickups that is. I dont think you can get a 7-string as good as this for the price. So stop missing out and go buy one!!! You won't regret it, I guarantee!!
So let me start by talking about the guitar itself. First off, this guitar has a very sleek neck, and feels really good. Its a little thicker than Ibanezs wizard II. If youre going from 6 to 7-string, it wont feel too different, it isnt as wide as most 7s, which is very nice. The fretboard is great too, I could solo all day on it, it just feels right! Having a middle pickup is also really cool; you can get some pretty neat tones. Theres really no problem with the guitar not having a neck pup, you can still get some good bass tones out of it. The body feels REALLY good. This thing isnt heavy at all, its surprisingly light. Its easy to carry around, hold, etc. Besides all this, the guitar just LOOKS sweet! Great design, no fret markers (theyre on the side of the neck so you dont get lost), just a great looking 7-string!
Like I said, this thing feels good. Plays just as well. Only one problem. The pickups are ehhhhh average, but thats kind of expected with stock pickups. Sound a lil muddy; if you swapped them out for some EMGs or Blackouts, youd have a real gem! I put EMGs in (custom, pearl white. I know, beautiful huh??), and baby does this thing scream! Its amazing, really. I would NOT recommend keeping the current pickups in the thing for long, unless you're a beginner, because you can't really unlock this thing's true potential and sound unless you do. Other than that, nothing else is wrong, it's a really well built guitar! I play in 2 bands, and I play 7-string as a rhythm guitarist in one of them. Ive actually already gotten to field test this thing at a small gig. It held up VERY well, I had no complaints! Sounded great through my Marshall MG half stack, the show went really great. With the EMGs, the tone really stuck out (in a good way), and it felt so good!
I dont think you can get a 7-string as good as this for the price honestly. It came to me already set up fairly well, but since it's more of a habit I had to have it set up professionally. Before and after (though the pro set up DID make a difference), it still felt and sounded fantastic. TOTALLY worth the money spent, every penny of it.

    Wow!

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

This phenomenal guitar by ESP is everything I wanted, and I am certainly glad I bought it!
The guitar itself is gorgeous, The deep black color really stands out and shines -- giving the guitar this overall appeal that drew me in right when I opened it up to play for the first time! The neck as well is another feature that I like the most. Great quality neck indeed!
This guitar is made well. Though not the highest quality in terms of pick ups, neck, etc. I simply have no complaints. It doesn't feel like a cheap guitar -- instead it feels incredibly expensive and plays like it too.
    It's worth MORE than that!

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

I first bought this guitar because i am a huge fan of Stephen Carpenter and Deftones in general, but i had no idea how great it would actually be. First off, its beautiful. Lackered glossy-black finish immediately catches your eye. Second, it play's so great that it outranks my Ibanez ARX 500 to me, and that one is close to $1000 when it was still being made. Worth the money for sure! Buy it! you wont regret it ever!

    Great 7 for any level

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

I have played a lot of guitars, and when i walked in my local guitar store i wasn't shopping for a 7, just an ESP. But then i played this monster and i was hooked. I found it extremely easy to play and the sound was decent, although i think most are correct in saying you will want the EMGs added in the future. Although its not a set neck it is painted and bound that gives it a set neck feel. It really is a quality instrument, and i cant say enough good things about it. My sound is forever altered!

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

I was looking at seven strings because i was looking at diversifying how and what i play. that was before i had even listened to Deftones. since i heard them i became a major fan and decided to take a look at Steph's seven strings. this one is perfect, the only thing i really have to say i'm disappointed about is that its not a neck through, but other than that, this guitar is easily upgradeable and deffinetly worth more than the asking price. if you read this, buy one! you wont be disappointed!

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

i honestly love this guitar. its amazing and i love the 24 extra jumbo frets on it. i also like how the pickups are placed on the body. some people have a problem with hitting them but i dont. but i honestly would have liked some actives in it, like some emg's. and another thing i did not like was that it was bolt on and not a neck through. but for the money this guitar is amazing. even for the price. but i would haveliked it to have an ebony fret board.

    My own seven string.

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

At first, when looking at Stephen Carpenter's badass equipment, i figured a seven string was for me, and this was the best option open to me. it has always been good to me right from the start, although i would have suggested EMG's for it, the sound is still great overall and goes good with my Marshall 250DFX. i could not have asked for anything better in my opinion, ESP hit it right on the head. if your looking to start using a seven string, look no further.

good guitar with junk pick ups

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

ok! let me say the guitar finish is flawless, I prefer personal more arched frets that this guitar doesn't have ( it doesn't mean the frets are bad!). the tuners feels ok. the nut keeps the strings in place. the strap button is big so it help the strap doesn't fall of. the only big complain about this guitar is the pick ups!! and I really mean it this pick ups sucks in a way you can imagine! I already order a EMG 60-7 and EMG 81-7. I did my research about what pick ups are the best for this guitar and some people say the seymour duncan blackouts phase II are good but it isn't they distorted when you play clean, believe me I have experience with this pick ups "the seymour duncan". so I hope this review help you and if you buy this guitar keep extra money to buy some decent pick ups like EMG's ( I going to write another review when replace the pick ups for the EMG'S )

    Extremely well-rounded and upgradable.

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar about 6 months ago and I'm very satisfied with the purchase. This is my first 7-string. First off the neck is very workable, not huge like you would think for a 7-string. Made it very easy to switch from 6 to 7 string. It's also a moderately light guitar. Now before even giving it a serious play I swapped the pickups out for some EMG 81-7's and put in a set of Sperzel 6-in-line locking tuners (very complicated process). And now with a set of Earnie Ball 7 string power slinkys this guitar KILLS. I'm not just saying saying that either, if you want a guitar that handles lots of lows and lots of distortion, for this price, this guitar is the way to go. Granted it will take a few more dollars to upgrade it to its full potential. Email if you have anything you'd like to know about it.

Comments about ESP LTD SC-207 Stephen Carpenter Signature Series 7-String Electric Guitar:

I picked up this guitar (with the other ESP pickups) and for a first 7 string it is amazing. I am going to upgrade it by Putting EMGs and Sperzels on it then it should be the perfect 7 string. Its also cheap so you dont have to worry about banging it or putting stickers on it (I will).I say get this now.
