This guitar is my second 7 string . i previously owned a k7 the korn signature ibanez and i thought it was the best thing in the world. This ESP easily gives compettition to the k7 with awesome active pickups and a neck thru design. i strongly recommend rhis guitar to anyone who wants the 7 string sound.
This guitar was everything I expected and more. The neck contour is very thin and comfortable, similar to Ibanez. The hardware is solid. The finish is gorgeous. The pickups I think are some of the best 7 string pickups on the market. The pickup placement is also a nice change too, giving the tones a little difference from a normal setup. Very nice job ESP.
This guitar is amazing! the finish is incredible(2-tone burst)the pictures do it no justice. the pickups are awesome, this is my first time with emgs and i love them. great guitar all around
Best model available, if I could afford a custom guitar it would be the same but with a hardtail.
This guitar is awesome. I had playing a six string schecter and it was hassle to tune it down to a or b and the tune it it back to standard tuning. I had wanted a seven string for this reason. When I got this guitar I was really impressed by it's features and the sound. Now I dont even us my schecter.
I ordered this guitar 2 weeks ago, got it in and immediately fell in love with it. It is the first 7 string i have actually enjoyed playing on. Great action on the frets, and the Emg active pickups are very nice. This guitar is a good buy for someone who wants a great range of tone.
Carvins are overrated and sound muddy. I have owned one and Ibanez as well, and this is by far the best. The punch and clarity of the low notes, as well as the ability of the low B string to stay fully in tune under rigorous playing conditions is unparalelled. The clean tone is amazing, the front pickup is positioned closer to the middle which makes it absolutely shimmer when used clean.
This guitar has pickups in an awesome position that gives it great sounding tone in all 3 selector positions. The neck is wide but that allows the strings to be as far apart as a regular 6 string and it is an all over beautiful instrument.
I have had this guitar for about half a year now and am mas o menos on it. The thing I liked about it is that it is very easy to get used to and the strings and the dimensions, etc are perfect. The crunch on this guitar is definetily distinct and sounds great. I did not like the clean tones on the guitar at all but hey what can you expect out of an ESP with EMGs. I kind of kicked myself in the butt when I found out if I payed about 100 dollars more I could have gotten a Carvin USA 7 string customized to my specification from the factory with way better woods and sounds than this guitar. Thats the main reason why I wasnt pleased with the guitar fully. All in all it is a good guitar but I believe it is too expensive.
I am a 7-string player, and really only play Schecters, but I decided I'd take a shot in the dark and try out an ESP 7-string and see just how it would handle, and I am greatly satisfied. The crisp sound, sexy appearance, and the workable action all give this instrument an incredible degree of quality, even in the "not-so-popular" 7-string category. I am very glad I bought this guitar.
I own several 7-string guitas and this one is by far the best. Both guitarists from "Lacuna Coil" use this exact guitar and they sound so heavy and awesome. The different location of the pickups is great for picking fast.
This guitar is amazing. It's the first 7-string I've ever touched. I love the EMG actives, the neck thru design; it's all amazing. I put .70 gauge strings on it, tuned down 1 1/2 steps to G#. I play Deftones new record and my own tunes, it's perfect. If you're looking for a solid 7-String, look no further.
I love ESP guitars and this seven string is a very bad #$! axe, not to mention it's one one of my favorite guitarist signature models. If you love playing down tones, this bud's for you!!
Allright, I own the sunburst model and I gotta say I was disapointed because the finish is not as clear and bright as on pictures. Appart from that, it is made in Korea wich is not cleary good but the craftmanship is allright. The sound... The emg are just great especially the bridge position with distortion or overdrive, wow dinamic, articulated, clear and punchy. As far as the sustain everything is allright thanks to the string thru body construction (in fact string to neck so to say since the neck goes all the way thru the body). I had problem with the neck/middle pick up, it got in my picking space since it is 1 cm far from the string it is not ideal for heavy palm muting or tremolo picking. The neck is great, fast rosewood neck gives you control over 7 string. As far as the sonic range I would say it is pretty limited, I liked a lot the bridge pickup as I said earlier and I find that the neck/middle pickup sounds thin and irritating, but that's my opinion and I am comparing this guitar to my 3500$ worth ibanez prestige. So anyways bottom line is great guitar if you really like the color and the neck/middle pickup (wich I cannot stand, both for sound or playing) I use it mostly for death metal so if I knew I would had bought the jackson signature 7 string wich is cheaper and is of same quality but black and bridge pickup only.Anyways Cool guitar but maybe not for me.
