Huge tone, a comfortable carved body, and EMG 808 active pickups.

The ESP LTD SC-608B Stephen Carpenter Signature Series model is an 8-string baritone electric guitar that features a sleek, carved top solid alder body and maple neck-thru construction. Neck-thru construction ensures incredible strength and sustain from this throaty-voiced baritone monster. In addition to the sustain-rich mahogany and bright maple tonewoods, this ESP baritone guitar is packing two hot EMG-808 active pickups, the 8-string version of the EMG-85.

A super solid Hipshot fixed bridge keeps everything aligned and makes the most of your string vibration for great sustain. The SC-608B neck features a fast U-shaped profile and an rosewood fingerboard with 24 extra jumbo frets, perfect for high-speed shredding. ESP locking tuners keep you spot-on tune, and black hardware completes the sinister look.

Lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter and the Deftones have been turning the metal world on its ear since the late 80s, and they're still going strong.

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

This is my 3rd esp owned. I'm satisfied with how well it can hold a tuning. I like the tuners a lot. Very simple and fast and good quality. That has always been an issue for me with bad tuners but these are the best I've had. The neck plays well and is not huge. Good construction. I'm not dissapointed with the emg 808 pups but I'm also not impressed either. I may seek out replacement pickups in the future, for some reason these pickups just don't totally do it for me. Also, you're going to want to buy some strings to test out on the guitar cause the stock gauges on the 6,7,8 strings are too light..I have a7w onfor my 8 string and its still too light and doesnt hold enough tension soim going for about an 80 gauge believe it or not.other than that I do like this guitar and would recommend it above some other 8 strings I've played. Fair price point.

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I was a bit concerned I would not like an 8 string, but since Stephen Carpenter is one of my favorite guitarists I had to try it. It took me one year to wait and review this guitar since I wanted to experience it all before writing this. Let me just say, BUY THIS GUITAR. The harmonics is amazing and you can play almost any style of music with the pickups he has on here. ONE HELL OF A GUITAR!!!! Play one and you will see what I am telling you.

sound as good as my ESP KH2!

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I have an ESP Kirk KH2, a fender strat two Ibanez S prestige's but this guitar is my fav! I don't share the complaint about the pickups being in the way because I don't use this for soloing, I solo on the others. Con's- if you do solo the 27" scale will though you off sometimes until you get used to it. Pros this guitar stayes in tune well and because of the larger scale the string are still tight so the response if more favorable in my opinion. beauty to look at, and I can't put this thing down when I play it. The emg's sound awesome, as good as my ESP KH2! And here is my favorite plus, Sustain!! oh yeah, this thing just resonates so well with the though body neck. If your considering one of these buy it.

amazing, except...

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I found two problems with it right off the bat. The F# string on the nut is pulled at such a hard angle therefrom that it doesnt take much to actually knock the string off of the nut. Also, the middle placed pickup, though sounding absolutly amazing, is in the way of picking to an extent. otherwise a great guitar.

AMAZING PIECE!

By Blaine.M

from Floresville, TX

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

This guitar is insane. I bought this guitar still in its original box from a music store. It has great output and has an excellent sound for heavy music with the EMG pickups on it. Its a little difficult to use at first because of the large neck, but after a week or two I got used to it. The guitar is very light and easy to hit high notes with the cut ins on the wings.

amazing, except one feature.

By Lesher Murcada

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

This guitar is almost perfect. I love everything about it except for the placing of the pickups. They are too close to each other so there is not much of a sound difference between them, also if you use a lot of sweep picking, it gets in the way of the picking hand. But everything else is perfect about it: the neck is thin, but not too thin, the paint job is great as well. I pesonally think it would look better in a matte finish though, so I might have it refinished. Last thing: if you are thinking about not getting it because you cant find where to get strings, all you need is a pack of standard 7 strings and get a set of GHS heavyweight .11s and your set.

8 Strin Maddness

By Jimbo-7P06k

from Forked River, NJ

Comments about ESP LTD SC-608B Baritone Stephen Carpenter Signature Series Electric Guitar:

I looked for the perfect 7 string for a while and settled on a Carvin. I just purchased the ESP SC608B. 8 string Korean guitar. Well over a grand. I can't find anything wrong with this ax, nothing. I play it thru a series of different sounds and effects. Ths 8th string if F#. I've even played it thru my GK 750W bass amp. More notes then a grand piano. One Insane Guitar. I wouldn't change a thing. It fits in a standard ESP case for that body style. I'm the only guitar player with this sound so please don't purchase this guitar so I can continue to be unique.
