I just got this 2 days ago and I am amazed at the quality of this instrument, to say the least. First of all, the transparent Black finsh is indeed stunning to look at IMO. Now, the neck on this, is very reminiscient of Gibson's faded series SG's but, faster and minus the fret edges that stick out on some of them. This stays in perfect tune for what seems like forever, no matter how many notes I bend, etc. The stock ESP LH-150 Humbuckers sound abslutely great providing you take the time to adjust them properly. I have mine nice and low to the point where they are at the top of the pup rings, where I get a nice, clear tone with no muddiness at all but still get that sustain when I go into Gain mode. The weight of this guitar does indeed have a lot to do with the sustain that comes out of the stock pickups IMO, which is a good thing. Now I'm 53 years old and have been playing for 40 years and this blows away alot of today's product that Gibson puts out. ESP should be proud to have their name on this guitar. Even though it's made in [*], that doesn't matter to me at all. What's important is the fact that when you get a product with the ESP name on it, you're getting something that is a outstanding product which will last a lifetime.

This is good guitar for some one starting to play. It's great for almost any kind of style (though I'm more of a single-coil blues playin' kinda guy) but it's primarily perfect for metal like almost everything that comes from ESP should be. But it does have a few drawbacks:*It's top heavy. I needed to drill the strap lock on the tip of the horn of the guitar to try and balance it out (which helped it a little).*Personally, the fretboard seems a bit small. Defiantly not for those with long fingers.*Its pretty heavy. So if you're a metal head with small hands who doesn't mind a heavy/unbalanced guitar, this is for you!

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-100FM Electric Guitar:

I have owned this guitar for 2 years now, bought it on Musician's Friend. I have owned many guitars in the past (Including an ESP LTD EC-1000) and no other guitar has the same sound and feel. I have spent much time recording with this beauty and She never fails to sing. I replaced the pickups with some Seymour Duncan Dimebuckers but the stock pickups sound great too! Great for any kind of metal/rock/clean/jazz. If you're looking for a good guitar without losing an arm and a leg, take it from me, buy this guitar.

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-100FM Electric Guitar:

I really enjoy this guitar so far, but I like a well-balanced guitar and this Viper is definitely top-heavy. Good tone, sleek neck -- though the frets were a little dirty.

This guitar came in with a neice set up. This is my first experience with ESP/LTD instruments, being I am basically a Fender kind of guy. I was impressed with the sound , feel, and heft of the Viper. This instrument actually excites me!!!

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-100FM Electric Guitar:

First off, I have to say that it is quite difficult to find another guitar of this quality for a lower price. It has decent pickups for basically anything you want to play. My only complaints are: 1.The tone knob is a bit sensitive. On mine it goes from bright to extremely muffled sounding with no in-between.
            2. The higher frets are a bit small. If you have small hands, it is not a problem. However, if you have large hands, it is difficult to play up past the 15th fret. Overall, this is a great guitar for beginners or anyone on a budget.

              incredible!!!!!! Viper-100fm

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-100FM Electric Guitar:

I dont know how they are selling this guitar for such a small price. Even with it being made in China. Forget the traditons of the past and go your own way. You will be happy you did!!!
I have been a Gibson/Fender USA guitar snob for twenty years. I can not believe the quality of this guitar for such a small price. This guitar stomps anything Gibson makes under a thousand dollars. The next guitar ill pay more than a grand for will be an ESP.
The fit and finish is flawless. Great hardware! Beautiful finish. Its a subtle see through. In my opinion looks better than the picture. The frets are finished as well as anything ive played. It has a sculpted heel. This is not mentioned in the discription. A nice surprise. This guitar puts my Gibson SG to shame. The pickups are very versitile. Great beefy sound from the neck pickup. The bridge pup is a little thin, but I rarely use the B-pup for the heavy blues I play. If you play a more aggresive style of music, you will probably want to change it. The neck shape is similar to the 50's style telecaster neck, only a little thiner and a little wider. Very comfortable. The tone knob has plenty of range. It could use a coil tap. I am planning on adding one.
What can I say? I have wasted alot of money over the years on higher priced traditional guitars used for electric blues. Never again! As long as ESP is putting out this kind of quality and value I will never go back!

The Viper 100 is a great value, if your on a budget but looking for for serious crunch and looks that kill then this is the guitar. The only 2 problems I had was: (1) No Tremelo (2) The color isnt as vibrant as the picture. But I love my guitar to death and glad I made this purchase.

Comments about ESP LTD Viper-100FM Electric Guitar:

Great beginners/intermediate guitar! I've been playing for a few years and this was my second guitar. I have played many guitars and I still love playing this, it's a nice size if you like to move around on stage like me, not too heavy you've got the 24 extra jumbo frets you've always wanted! The pickups aren't too bad I've messed with my guitar a bit it's been thrown around all over, dropped, input jack's loose, smacked all over still plays fine. I adjusted the bridge n' stuff for dropped A tuning for my band and I sanded the back of my neck so it stays smooth. Has nice chug not too fatty yet not too trebbly. not all the sustain I need but for the price it's an amazing guitar stands right up to my 850$ Schecter and has proven sturdier than that Schecter. I love this guitar so much I just recently purchased the ESP (not LTD) Viper Standard and I'm selling my Schecter to keep my current Viper as a backup guitar I love this guitar and if you're looking for a reliable first or second guitar that's gonna last BUY IT it's worth the money. I personally play heavy music I have played lighter genres with this guitar and it has impressed me in every genre yet I do believe it's best suited for heavier genres however with the right settings you can get this thing to play anything I promise it's worth the money.

I have had this guitar for about a year now and i dont regret buying it at all. The neck is super smooth and the tone is pretty good too. The only flaw i had with it though is that the transparent black doesnt show like it does in the picture. It is a lot darker. Over-all great guitar. Buy it
