This is a great guitar. Tight, low action, and it came intonated correctly. Amazing. The bridge pickup needed replacing (I needed a heavier sound), the tuners don't need replacement, but I did anyway. Custom work on this guitar wasn't even too hard, it's well put together. It's easy to play, it's light enough, it's really a great guitar (that's how an 8, 8, and 9 average out to a 10).The two things that are any trouble are pretty minor. Strings are hard to change, and they come out of tune - it's the price you pay for a Bigsby. Second thing is specific to me - it's hard to get wire between the two halves of the guitar - I had to pass wire right under the pickup (and shield the heck out of it).
ESP guitar Co. is amazing! They continue to make guitars that just knock out the compatition. First it was the afordable LTD 1000 deluxe line, now the X-tone Paramount PC's. Like the 1000 deluxes, its upgraded with the best aftermarket/custom pick-ups, nut, bridge and vibrato. Along with beutiful full binding and and inlays. Its light, plays like a dream, and looks beyond cool. I think the key to the sound is the Seymour Duncan JB/Jazz pick-up combo. I think the SD Jeff Beck is the best sounding pick-up hands down. The JB is so versitle, it response to clean and distorted sound like no other pick-up. Plus it has the most tonefull distortion I've ever heard. The SD Jazz is a great compliment to the JB(also Seymour himselves favorite pick-up combonation.) A lot of guitar makers are throwing this pickup combo in thier guitars to make their inferiour product sound good. In the case of this X-tone PC its a marridge that compliments each other. The neck is smooth as buttah, for thoose fast chords and riffs and the feedback is minimal for a semi-hollow. And thats important to me since I play off a Mesa Single Rectifier 50 watt solo head on top of a Mesa Rectifier series 2x12 cab. Which I was able to aford by not buying a Gibson Custom shop 58 Les Paul Junior double cut reissue. And buying a LTD deluxe 1000 sunburst w/Duncans. But the next guitar I buy will this X-tone after playing my freinds. The only reason I didn't give it a ten on quality is the tone knob didn't work, It was miswired so I just wired it right and its ready to punk and roll. ESP's are not just for metal anymore!
This thing will hold its own when compared with anything in its price range. Sounds nice, plays smooth, and looks classy.
Sounds as good as a Les Paul to me, and never fails to elicit an "oh ah" from someone who has never seen this type of body shape. I have the super looking sunburst which is not listed now, my only complaint would be that the Bigsby logo is not stamped metal like the old ones (say Keith Richards black 335). I had the nut changed to real bone, but to be honest can't hear any difference. Really great guitar for the money, and great that Ron Wood play's his ESP model on stage with the Stones.
Awesome sound. Great Quality. Sweet Features.
I got this guitar actually from a dealer who ordered the PC-2V by mistake, he meant to get the cheaper model so he gave me a deal on it. Anyway, it has a feel like a Johnny-A , for the money, it is a steal, sounds like an LP, i have the transparent red finish and looks killer with the bigsby bridge, don't waste money on a gibson special or anything like that, just buy this and be glad you got a real guitar with sweet sounds...very versatile...very warm
