I like everything about this guitar except the "Duncan Designed" pickups. They sound a little weak. Definately recomend swapping them for something hotter. The HHS pickup configuration is a unique feature I've yet to see on any other guitar. This was a deciding factor when I purchased this guitar. As for the looks, Its beauty is awe inspiring. The see-thru green is gorgeous(what first caught my eye). Then upon seeing the neck-thru, string-thru features, I was sold.
I've owned the ltd version of this guitar since 2002 and it's still going strong, after almost 5 full years of touring/recording. Although it came with cheap duncan design pickups, I upgraded the bridge pickup to a Dimebucker (SH-13) and my tone is spectacular. If metal/hardcore is your thing, then get this guitar right now.
Pricey but worth every penny. Deffinetly gets that shred sound if you're into that kind of thing. Out of 8 gutars this is the one that is most enjoyable to play. I also own the LTD version of this which sadly is discontinued. If you have the money this guitar gives you everything you want. Easy for tremelo picking with the low action and the ebony fretboard makes it a real easy smooth play. The alder body gives it great sustain. Pick one up if you're near it cause I thin it's out of production now!!!
I've had the orginal ltd version (didn't have 2k+ to spend) for over 4 years now and is one of the most comfortable and beautiful guitars i've ever played. You don't see many of these around. The pickups I think are awesome. Nice treble and awesome bottom end. Sustain is incredible. Came set up perfectly and I rarely have to tune it after changing the strings.
The feel of this guitar is supurb. I'm purchasing one very soon myself, but I have played on one countless times. Truly a beauty. And since it is Stef Carpenter's signature guitar, it can't get better.
Deftones are the best. Stephen also has another band also that is a lot harder rock/metal. Either way, awsome.
