Cutaway dreadnought design, super comfortable neck, and ESP electronics at an irresistible price.

The DC-5E is a great starter acoustic-electric guitar, combining ESP’s attention to detail with a price that will allow nearly any musician to get into playing acoustic guitar. Even at its very affordable price, the DC-5E is a classic dreadnought that offers a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and rosewood fingerboard like guitars that cost many times more.

    Easy to play
What sets this guitar apart from other dreadnoughts is how easy it is to play. The thin U neck contour feels perfect and stays comfortable during long practice sessions or performances. The DC-5E also features extra jumbo frets that are more often found on electric guitars, and which make fingering notes faster and easier.

    Tone
The DC-5E dreadnought won't disapoint in the tone department. The body design and tone woods of this ESP guitar deliver plenty of volume and balanced sound, perfect for performing solo or jamming with others.

    Plugged in performance
The DC-5E is ready to connect to any amp or sound system. The onboard ESP preamp has a 2-band sliding EQ and volume control to help you find your sound on stage. There's also a low battery indicater.

With advantages in both playabilty and sound, the DC-5E is a smart choice for beginners. It's also an attractive option for experienced electric players looking to cross over into the acoustic-electric realm.

          A Really Good Guitar

Comments about ESP Xtone DC-5E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is more than just a starter guitar. Most guitars in this price range do not have a real mahogany body which is part of the reason this sounds so good. Wonderful spruce top. Balanced, bright tone with excellent harmonics. Good pickup with quiet electronics and usable tone controls. Nice battery compartment. This guitar would be worth the price without the pickup. Yes, the action is a bit high but you would have to typically pay twice as much or more to get an instrument that sounds this good and it would not be a cutaway. Most cutaways in this price range have poorer tone than a full body but ESP obviously did their homework on this one.

          Nice sounding and playable guitar.

Comments about ESP Xtone DC-5E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Overall I would buy another one if I had a need to. The special price was for the tobacco sunburst type finish. It isn't ugly, but I think the black or natural top look much nicer in the pictures. If you had to pay the regular price on these, I would expect one with no flaws, but on the around a hundred buck discount price, I got a fine deal.
It has built in pickup which has nice tone with tone adjustments. Uses battery power. Has a adjustable neck rod. Large deep body for some decent bass tones. One of the best China made acoustic guitars I have tried out.
Nice high gloss finish, but has some small flaws in it, a few tiny specks of dirt or something hard in it , has a couple small marks and bubbles, and some buffing marks in it. Looks and feels solidly built, but only time will tell that. I get a tiny bit of buzz on the 1st (and mainly) on the 2nd string, on the 2-4th frets, the strings are fairly low, so it could be a small turn on the neck rod. I will leave it alone for a while and see if playing it might change it some. This is with the factory supplied strings, but possibly even a string change could cure this. Stays in tune, and nice tuning keys. I did notice that when you try to slide a A chord up one fret, it more or less dies off fast, where on a Martin or other high quality guitar, it will carry the sound smoothly. Might be larger frets causing this dulling of the sound. Not a major flaw though.
For the money (on the special offer low price I paid for this), I expected some flaws and was right, but overall I am very happy with the purchase. I have seen many China made guitars which were low in quality as compared to this model and make. Some have necks that would make it hard for a student to learn on, and tone that a shoe box with stings on it would equal. Not these though. These are a great beginners or even an intermediate players guitar. Much like the Yamaha guitars were back in the 1970s, which everyone had one to tinker with in their cars, and you could take them anywhere, as compared to the high end guitars like Martins and Gibsons which you left home.

Comments about ESP Xtone DC-5E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Excellent guitar for the money. Dark to light brown color tone looks better than typical sunburst tops. I didn't know about ESP acoustics before, though ESP electrics are well known. I like everything about the guitar.
Built-in electronics with simple controls provide very natural sound.
For the money, the guitar looks beautiful, sounds great and plays well. Well made, and just the right weight. Excellent attention to detail.
Great value for the money. Definitely beats similarly priced acoustics like Fender and Ibanez.

Great Value guitar - better than a starter

Comments about ESP Xtone DC-5E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

You'll want to pick it up and keep playing, Feels and sounds great.
OK - I got very lucky as I grabbed this as a Stupid Deal. I was not in the market for a guitar as my collection exceeds 50. I thought this would be a fun one to keep out and have no worries if anything happened to it.

Once I unboxed it an tuned it up I was smiling from ear to ear and in disbelief as to the quality of the guitar. First of all it feels good, a very solid guitar with excellent weight distribution. It plays well all the way up the neck to the accessible 20'th fret. The guitar is loud and clear and stays in tune. I like to fingerpick and it sounds so good when played in this manner but also pumps out the barre chords. I have yet to plug it in so I can not as of yet comment on pickups or amplified sound. Until thsn let me say this is a solid reccomendation!
I did get this at a reduced STUPID DEAL price but even at full price I thing the guitar is a sold value.

          Absolutely worth every Penny.

Comments about ESP Xtone DC-5E Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Will Never Bad Mouth a Guitar because it's not Made In the USA again. I'll just have to buy what I feel will give me the most pleasure for the money.
Great Pickup on this guitar with plenty of attenuation to adjust the sound to get the exact sound you want.
This is the first guitar that I've bought in a long time where it didn't take me a full day to set it up to where I was happy with the action. Perfectly straight neck and no buzz anywhere.
Even though I got it much less than the asking price I would have paid the full price for this high quality guitar Made In China! I've bought several AMERICAN made guitars and spent 10 times the money for a poorly made piece of @#$$! Would rather smash my gibson than play it compared to playing this guitar.
