Comments about EVH Wolfgang Special Electric Guitar:

Setup out of the box was awful. This is common though, you always need to set it up the way you like it. Once I tweaked it and setup the D-tuna properly and brought the action back down to factory specs it simply was fantastic! Has a good mixture of growl vs scream! pickups clean up nicely when dialing back the tone. Jumbo Frets are fantastic! (not stainless like the previous Wolfangs, but much bigger than vintage style frets) Love this guitar!

Comments about EVH Wolfgang Special Electric Guitar:

I have been watching for this model for a long time. Currently they are hard to find new. I took a chance on a blemished model from Musician's Friend. It essentially was mint. The bridge pickup through a Marshall JVM 410h is amazing. The neck pickup is a bit cold/sterile. Both pickups together actually sound better than the neck position. The build quality is amazing. The out of the box setup was not the best, but it is not a hard guitar to set up. The neck is nice..

Comments about EVH Wolfgang Special Electric Guitar:

This is a very fine instrument, better made than its Japanese model. Wood, materials, over all feel, everything except the paint job in the head stock is far better.

Definitely a keeper an to use as main guitar. I bought the vintage white model and its beautiful.

I am a rosewood guy, if EVH decided to make them with this option, I bet they will sell a lot more.

      Really like it so far...

Comments about EVH Wolfgang Special Electric Guitar:

Had this about a week and really like it. Floyd Rose is not floating, so it only dives. Prevents intonation issues when double bending, etc.

The D-Tuna is great. I play a lot of drop D and the thing works perfectly.

The action was a little high for my taste and the manual states that 1.5 mm from 12th fret is "as designed". I've lowered it to my liking by using the included allen wrench and no fret buzz.

Great looking maple top and finish. No flaws that I have found yet with the construction.

One weird note is that the docs say the switch is wired "backwards" like EVH likes it. Up is bridge and down is neck pickup. I found the switch to be wired the other way. Don't know if they changed this on purpose or if this was a mistake.

It doesn't come with a case, and unfortunately the odd shape didn't fit into any of my other guitar cases. I had to use a soft case.

The Floyd rose is double locking, so string changes are going to be a pain, but the thing DOES NOT come out of tune after slacking the strings completely multiple times.

I haven't spent enormous time dialing in the tone, but I was able to get all of the sounds I wanted out of it on the fly while jamming.
