Aww the horrors, I got my guitar and it had a tricky short in one of the pickups. Later I found out that the wonderful american who slaved over it to make it drilled a screw right into one of the wires. The evil Guitar Center "fixed it" about 8 months ago, but it seems its come back in full swing. I suspect the tone has been hurt by this crazyness. Ill get new pickups of some kind this summer. When it does work, its freaking great! plays like a dream. I love the tune-o-matic bridge. It just plays really really great. Good weight and feel. This guitar is way cooler than a strat. No joke. Be an individual and conform to the styles of this beauty because I told you to?
This guitar is build pretty solid, and should hold up very well when gigging. It sounds pretty good, and the action is perfect (for me), it's very low, but with little buzz. I'm not so hot on the pickups though (pun intended), the neck pickup dosn't give me enough bass. The neck pickup is also too cool for my liking, I wish it were hotter, so it could be farther away from the strings and give it a less bright sound. The finish is really nice, I have it in the dark metalic blue, which looks black unless you take it into the sun. The tone pot for the bridge is a little funky though, when I put it below about 4, my sound starts to get cooler, and by the time the tone pot is at 1, there is no sound left! The tone pots shouldn't work like volume knobs. Overall, this is a solid, pretty good sounding guitar that plays really well. I reccomend this as an alternative to those faded Gibsons.
This guitar appears to be a cheap cookie cutter replication of the original. I was sadly dissapointed in the quality of this guitar. It was bought as new but had scratches on the plastic covers, the finish was marred and the neck joint and neck were not much better (or worse) than cheap Korean guitars.
First of all, it's a Fender. Fender is the best there is. But this guitar has a unique design and great looks that look great on stage. An overall great guitar.
First off, this guitar looks awesome. Theres no denying that.I bought this guitar online knowing little about it. Simply becuase I have heard good things and because it was just that gorgeous. When I got it I was not dissappointed at all. I own 2 Ibanez's, so I'm used to insanely low action and the wizard necks. As far as fender goes, I normally find their guitars uncomfortable for my hands. This guitar's neck is somewhat thin and the action was low enough for my liking. That and it's light weight make it very comfortable to play. The fender pickups sound great! I play alot of ska and the bridge pickup really puts out a nice, bright, clean tone. The neck pickup delivers a very rich and warm tone as well. Sounds amazing. It sounds amazing hooked up to a boss overdrive as well.. though the guitar is a tad bit noisey. I believe this is the same guitar Fallout Boy often uses, so obviously its suitable for live shows. I've had no troubles with it and would feel completely comfortable taking it to a gig without a backup. My only complaint would be the noise. But even then, if this guitar was stolen I would buy another in a heart beat!!!!!!!!!
Title says it all. QC was nonexistent on this, but the stuff that's wrong -- and there was a lot -- is at least fixable. The pickup switch and neckplate were bad, the finish was covered with gobs of wax & goop, but the nut isn't even fitted - it's the worst nut I have seen in my life, just a blank with guide grooves. It's like for slide, unplayable otherwise.Neck & frets are OK, finish is OK after cleanup. After getting it repaired under warranty, it should be nice, but that's a bad start.
I love Fender, and what they did to this guitar is outta this world. The pickups they put on this guitar are really nice. The only complaint I have is that where you plug the cable in was loose and would fall out, but that was an easy fix. So, overall, this is a really awesome guitar. Good job Fender!
