OVERVIEW

A celebration of popular features and commemorative details.

In 2014, Fender celebrates the diamond jubilee of arguably the world's greatest electric guitar with the limited-edition 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster. This special guitar honors the Stratocaster's very first model year as an exciting new instrument with a tone as new and different as tomorrow, and is reverently crafted with a rich selection of features, appointments and accessories.

The two-piece ash body features a sideseam and a flash-coat lacquer finish in the guitar's original two-color Sunburst. The one-piece maple neck has a comfortable 1954 profile and date stamp just below the truss rod adjustment nut, topped by a 7.25"-radius fingerboard with rolled edges and 21 vintage frets. Three modern 1954 single-coil Stratocaster pickups deliver a singing original-era voice, with five-way switching complemented by an included optional three-way switch for original wiring. The guitar also features a single-ply white pickguard and white polystyrene control knobs, bone nut and round string tree, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge with six special saddles, vintage tuners and nickel-chrome hardware.

Special extras and accessories include a vintage-design single-stitch center-pocket tweed case; replica polishing cloth, cable, black leather strap and bridge cover; extra tremolo springs (two), and reproduction 1954 paperwork.

Available in a limited edition of 1,954 guitars, each of which comes with a special 1954 Anniversary Strat Certificate.

Comments about Fender 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Hey it feels great, plays excellent, makes me want to play it even more and longer.
Great tones, classic strat sounds, plays as well as some of my CS. Strats. Was it extravagant, on my part probly. Hey once in a while, you deserves a guitar like this.
Hey, I would say buy one, but limited run of 1954. So snooze and you loose.

Comments about Fender 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This one is for the us thick neck lovers. It is said to have a two-tone burst but it is actually a one-tone burst. In '54 and '55, Fender used only a dark brown paint on the edges of the guitar and let it fade to the natural ash wood. In '56 they started adding a light amber colored paint in the center of the guitar - I suspect to cover the fact that they were no longer using the nice ash wood with it's distinctive grain. these 60th Anniversary '54's have that nice ash grain, the patent pending saddles, and the round string tree. Included with the guitar is a special center pocket case with the fun case candy replicating the 1954 buying experience. Another great thing about these guitars is that the back of the head-stock and heal of the neck have no printing such as a custom shop logo or serial number. This lack of printing is period correct. The sound of the '54 60th Anniversary is excellent on all pickups. I immediately switched out the 5-position switch for the included 3-position switch to give it the more authentic original set up (I'm not big on the 2nd and 4th position sounds). I've had the guitar for a couple of years now and play it often. Highly recommended!!

Comments about Fender 60th Anniversary American Vintage 1954 Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Well it plays great didn't plug it in, feels good. It was the last one they had. No more available from the store I was in. 1954 being made that is it. Pricey, but hey it is a limited run. Big question is, play or put away. I plan playing it somewhat, won't be my main guitar. I also have a 50th anniversary, this will compliment that as a set. I have 9 strats already. My opinion would be buy it,
