The first 60th Anniversary Strat I received had a faulty bridge pickup. The next one I got had a scratch on the finish, but since the guitar was going to be discontinued I just kept it. Great guitar, BUT it is NOT wired like the Jimmie Vaughan guitar. The bridge pickup's tone cannot be controlled (without rewiring) and it is VERY trebily.
I was going to buy an epiphone les paul but when I went into the store to buy it, I saw this beautiful guitar hanging on the wall. I knew right then and there I needed to own it. I bought it and I've never been happier with any guitar I've ever owned.
I was looking for several months for a better electric. I didnt have the money to drop on an american strat or a nice les paul. I wasnt even sure what I wanted. I ruled out les pauls in my price range, and the american strat sounded and felt so right but it was way to expensive. I played one and didnt care for the way it felt. I picked this up and instantly fell in love. It has amazing feel to it and tone to it, very close to an american and the price is amazing for what it sounds and feels like. And to boot, a nice finish on it.
After reading the reviews and writeup of this guitar I had to try, and boy amd I glad I did! Inmy home studio I need an axe that can give me many colors from the tonal palate. This guitardoes just that. What I didn't realize is how versatile this baby is! All 5 toggle positions sound great for rhythm or lead depending on yourstyle of music. Having never owned a guitar witha "maple" neck I was impressed how well this played. The "C" neck and action were set up perfectly and were comfortable to play. The Tex-Mex pickups sound crystal clear, perfect basis for any style of music. Also, you humbucker lovers out there shouldn't be scared away from the single-coil bridge pickup, sounds "fat" and "crunchy" for even punk and metal as well as blues. Oh yeah, the finish is as stellar in person as in the pic! This guitar is a wise investment for beginner or pro!
This is a great guitar. Period. Believe it or not it even has a vibe just sitting there. The sound is great with the overwound pickups. The neck is smooth as can be with large frets. One of the best guitars I've ever played. Well done Fender.
This Guitar is really cool. The Playability is amazing. but you do have to kind of watch out for it a little. first off the picture is misleading. luckily i saw this guitar in stores before i bought it on line. the guitar is much more white than it is in the picture. also make sure you read the specs... which i didn't do. it says it has 3 tex mex pickups in it which are great if you are looking for that clean sound. don't buy this guitar thinking you can play anything you want. because these pickups are not very good for heavy distortion or fuzz.. but besides that this guitar is seriously amazing. i personally love it.
I got this guitar yesterday and now it's discontinued. I'm really happy with it! I hesitated on it for a long time and am so happy I got it while it was still around. If you can find somewhere to get this guitar GET IT. For the price and just in general, you can't beat it.
Amazing blend of everything there is to love about a Fender Strat in one guitar. The neck is the best part; I don't know if it has something to do with the radius of the neck and how it was cut, you got to try it!
I bought this guitar in January and I love it. It's C shaped neck glides so easily and the polished fretboard is so easy to play on its scary. I'm a big Gibson fan and this was my first Fender. It is now one of my primary guitars. Although when I tried to change the strings for the first time it came out of tune VERY easily. I would invest into some locking tuners.
For the money, it is one of the best Strats that I own. Hot, Tex-Mex pickups and a beautiful Artic Pearl finish (mine is a maple neck fretboard), it plays and sounds as good as the more expensive Strats. To me, it's the best looking of all the Anniversary models.
