Well first off this was my first electric guitar and I still use it to this day. The Affinity Strat is made by Squire, but don't let the name fool you, It has great tone and playability. If you like it clean or distorted it delivers, but I'm mostly impressed by how comfortable it is to hold and play. I've played guitars that are 5x the price and don't feel this good. The ONLY thing that I've had wrong with it is after 4yrs the neck bent out of shape and gave me some buzzing around the 12th fret, but I'm sure if I had taken better care of it that would have never happened,(easy fix). The 15G amp is weak and will need to be replaced, but it is good for practicing when you don't want to shake the house. Over all I would say "great" guitar but the amp isn't the best. I recomend it to any beginner musician.

Final words of wisdom?
Advanced players WILL be upset, but for beginners, great!
If you're going to get a good start to your guitar playing this would be it. It was my first Strat (probably going to be my only one, as I am more of a Les Paul guy.) Basic Strat features - 1 volume, 2 tone, tremolo (which shall not be used - goes out of tune really easily) 3 single coils, nice neck. I gave it a seven because of the tremolo and the quality of the pickups. BEFORE you go thinking you can tour with this thing, I'll tell you straight out the amp is horrible - not what I expected from a Fender. I have a great Marshall stack and it totally blows the Fender away - so save up some dough for a new amp.
The quality of the amp is TERRIBLE, don't use it. Only good for practice. The guitar is great for starters. As I said, the tremolo isn't good, so don't expect Van Halen type music. The pickups and tuners should be switched. Otherwise, GREAT!
Everything you need to start out at a low price. What more can I say?

Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
I truly wish I had something like this when I started. With a good setup from my local music store, this guitar sounds, plays and feels like a much more expensive Stratocaster! I have the blue one and the pictures don't do it justice- a deep transparent color that looks really nice under stage lights.
The amp gets some unwarranted bad publicity but it does it's job very well! IT IS NOT a MARSHALL STACK or a 5150. But, since you ain't Clapton or EVH (yet), who cares? It's a good practice amp, it has really decent tone and lots of versatility. 15W will not melt the paint off the walls- it's not supposed to. It's perfect for honing your chops without pissing off everyone within 150 yards. And it sounds surprisingly good when I try recording - microphone thru my laptop soundforge software.
All-In-All a great value and it could take you places you never imagined!!

Cons
- Bad Tone On Amp
- Doesnt Stay In Tune

Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
I got this package almost 4 years ago for my birthday and have played it since. It was my first electric guitar and I had never been more excited for a gift.
The Guitar: The guitar is good for what you pay, it feels great and like any strat. The worst part of the guitar shows when you plug it in, the pickups are teriible. The only good pickup on the guitar is the bridge pickup, the middle and neck pickups just sounds plain bad. The tone when played with the amp is good and is the reason I rarely play with the amp.
3.5/ 5
The Amp: I dislike the Fender Frontman 15g. The tone just sounds bad an ugly. It also distorts the louder you turn it up. Over drive sounds bad and so does the clean tone. The nobs on the amp dont change much. The amp is only 15 watts so its impossible to overpower a drummer, led alone an entire band. You might be thinking that its the guitar but it doesnt sound good with good guitars either. 1.5/5
The Headphones. They sounds really good but the cord is really long which could be good or bad. 4/5
The Cord: Umm its good? 5/5
Tuner: COMPLETE GARBAGE barely even worked 1/5
The strap: its not very padded so if its not that great for playing while standing. 2.5/5
Gig Bag: pretty good quality lasted about 3 years before starting to be cut up on the headstock. It provides no padding so if you drop it it wont protect the guitar much.
Overall this package is good for anyone who want to get everything you need to practice and play for friends. Its not good enough to gig so dont think that out of the box you can join a band. If you want to start a band you could probably do it with the guitar but it will require a nicer amp, I reccomend the Fender Mustang II
Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
I bought the blue one for my high school daughter who is just learning to play (got a copy of Rocksmith for the PS3 as well) and she is already jamming just a couple of weeks into it--got some pink picks to go with it and she's having a blast. Love the guitar and it has amazing sound. Fender delivers.
I've played for 30 years and was truly suprised at the quality. I own a Vintage Fender Telecaster, a Martin Eric Clapton Signature Acoustic Guitar, and a Gibson Les Paul. While the Squier doesn't compete with these, it is amazingly good considering the price.
I haven't tried the Amp yet as we run everything, including the PS3, through a 600 watt power amp. The headphones are kind of cool. It comes already with strings and a few picks. What's not to like?
Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
My brother give his old set to me. It is probably from 1998. The amp is different, it was a Squire Champ 15, but I'm sure that this one is better. Even if not, people need to realize that if you pay 300 dollars for a pack, you're not getting a Gibson and a Marshall Half Stack.
Very good tone. Sound going to amp may cut off during practice, just tighten the input jack on the guitar.
I know that it isn't a fender, but this is still a great buy.
Great sound, better price.

first off i was very pleased with how quick the delivery was from musiciansfriend, on to the guitar combo this guitar has an incredible sound, i am very pleased with the guitar. If their is one thing that u may want to consider upgrading after u get this is the small 15g amp but if u r a starter or are getting this for a kid then the 15g amp will be fine but to really liven the sound up def upgrade to a more aggressive amplifierGreat deal though on all the accessories that come in this combo, def worth the money u have to put in on it, just get ready to upgrade amps, other than that no complaints other than i wish there was more time in a day for me to play this guitar
Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
This is the first guitar package I ever bought, and will probabaly be the only one, too. The Affinity Series Strat (which is made by Squier)is not bad.I love the 70's style headstock. In my first Praise Band practice,I noticed my guitar sounded richer&warmer than my Pastor's Squier Bullet, but he bought that on ebay so I don't know that those are stock pickups in his guitar. The Frontman 15G Amp is not a bad amp,but I upgraded to a peavey vypyr anyways due to the 15G's lack of effects. Good combo for high-gain music. It sounds good clean, too. I'm glad I bought this.
Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
When I used this guitar, I was in fact surprised. The amp was pretty good, way better than a cheap ibanez 15w amp I have (from the ibanez ijx121 pack) and the guitar was okay. When I used it, it was out of tune, but I tuned it quickly. The guitar was pretty good, except I hate the fact it only has 21 frets. But I CAN get some sort of metal-like tone to it. To me, that was surprising for a strat. But all in all, it's pretty good. Don't listen to all those reviews who think this guitar is crap. It is NOT, it is way above what I thought this guitar was going to be.
Comments about Fender Affinity Special Strat and Frontman 15G Amp Value Pack:
I have learned the hard way that you don't want to buy squier products. I was looking for a cheap practice guitar, because I didn't want to bring my nicer Ibanez places. Within a week, the string broke, and the tone is horrible. The amp's feedback is disgraceful the fender name, and the gig bag tore in a month. I have had the same experience with squier acoustics, and I urge you not to buy squier. For only 50 dollars more, you could just go over to Ibanez and buy the metal jumpstart package (the guitar is not really just for metal, it sounds great clean too.)
