Great buy!

Features:

What a nice package - my kids and their teacher love the set, the extra features on the amp are worth the extra money you spend compared to lower (cheaper) models.  The guitar is also very good.

Quality:

Had trouble with tuning the strings using the built-in tuner.  Had to use a separate tuner.  The built-in tuner does not reconize the strings too well and you end up with wrong tuning unless you are a pro.

Value:

Without a doubt, this is a great deal for a starter package

Overall:

I highly recommend this package for a starter - the band features in the amp are really a great value and my kids are enjoying the various sounds, rhythms, tempos etc.

Excellent Buy

Features:

The amplifier sounds better than I expected.  It was worth the upgrade to get the loops and all of the settings.  Even at 15 watts is ideal for a small Church setting or just practicing in a music room.

Quality:

The Fender Squier Affinity guitar is a high quality, heavy duty guitar.  It is heavier than I thought it would be, but still very comfortable to play.  The metalic blue is different than it shows on line or on the box.  It is a beautiful deep blue metalic and almost a deep purple look in some lighting.

Value:

After much on line research, this appeared to be the best value.  After receiving my package, it is confirmed that it is worth the price.  Though the strap and slightly padded soft case will work just fine, I wouldn't mind upgrading those later on.

Overall:

The guitar looks and sounds great. The amplifier has so many options, and with or without "the band" that it will take some time to figure out the sounds that work the best in the setting that you have.  With that said, you always want to go back for more practice.

This was my first electric guitar. I had already been playing guitar for maybe a year or two, and I figured this would be a good choice (because it came with an amp, gig bag, etc). I later found out that such accessories as the gig bag and strap wouldn't last very long, but the guitar and amp were perfectly fine. I've had this guitar for a few years now, and all I can say is that the quality hasn't gone down at all. I might even go so far as to say it's gone up. It's not terribly heavy, no problems with the pickups, stays in tune (although I would recommend replacing the stock strings right away), and just doesn't diappoint. Don't let the 4 and 1/2 stars fool you, this is a quality instrument, but I would only recommend it to beginners or those looking for a first electric guitar.

GREAT FIRST GUITAR!

I got this package a little over a year ago and even thought I have gotten a new guitar since I still love everything about this bundle. The guitar for the most part works great and has an ok sound, the pick-ups are a little cheap though, I replaced them and now it sounds great. The only problem I have over all with the guitar is it does not stay in tune and the truss rod becomes loose which is very annoying. I still use the amp and event though I want to get an upgrade it has served me well over the past year, It has a variety of distortions and effects along with a fair amount of loops to play along with. My only problem is that it is hard to get a good clean sound out of it which is important. The other items are second rate at best and better versions will need to be purchased such as new cables. Still a great product.

Overall:
I owned this for about 3 months before pawning it off. The reason being that I moved, and had an addiction to the booze...and I had become jobless. The g-dec is fantastic for building rhythmic soundness...the sheer pleasure of having a decent backing band at your fingertips is incredible. People forget we live in awesome times. That is not to say this amp is perfect, the distortion can be quite a problem trying to dial in a smooth one, imho. But the value hear can not be denied. A damn down and out REAL musician could use this system if he hit hard times....it is a great package. The guitar is...GOOD! Not great, but I emphasize good because I was expecting much worse. Once I strung em high for an hour, they came back in tune and stayed there for the day. I never intonated it, bu it'd have played like a dream if I had. This pickups are brittle and takes some coaxing to find a good tone, I simply recommend you use the neck pickup and you'll be fine. I am sorry I let this package I go, but now, my life is back in order, relatively sober, and got a better setup. Recommended.
