Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups
It's no secret that pickup designers have been striving to develop the ultimate noise-free single-coil replacement pickup. In pursuit of as little 60-cycle hum and extraneous noise as possible and the classic bell-like tones and fidelity of the original Fender designs, Fender has poured their energy into discovering a new world-class pickup for the ages. With open minds and a willingness to seemingly question everything, Fender partnered with legendary pickup designer Bill Lawrence. The pickup that was birthed from this extraordinary partnership is the Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickup. It has no hum, no microphonics, close to zero magnetic interruption of the string path, and the widest sonic parameters possible--from Fender classic single coils to tones not yet imagined. Truly a revolutionary design in guitar pickups.

I have a lot of guitars, that includes, a Les Paul, Ibanez RG, Jackson Dinky... etc, and the playability if this strat far surpasses all of them. Very well crafted instrument, with great attention to details. I love the softer edge of the neck joint on the deluxe, it makes access to higher frets a lot easier for me. The different tonalities that this guitar can produce is just great, specially with how they wire those noiseless pickups. I have the maple neck, and I am sure that I will get the rosewood model at one point, I am just hoping they come up with another color, so that both guitars wont look alike. N.B. I only gave it 4.5 in the value category, just because I wish everything is slightly cheaper for musicians.
I own three Left Handed American Deluxe Strats. One has the alnico 5 Noiseless pickups while the other two (one with maple neck and the other with rosewood neck) have the S-1 switching system. Each guitar sounds different because of the above-listed differences, and each on sounds great in its own right! I have played many other guitars and have always found the Stratocaster to have wonderful clean tone and great versatility. My wish list to Fender: build a left handed American Deluxe Strat with a humbucking pickup at the bridge and build a left-handed Fender Showmaster guitar for us lefties.Great guitar--Highly recommended. Great fun to play.
