This is the best guitar I have ever played. It just feels like it is made for me to play. The balance is amazing. It contours to the body, it has a comfortable neck. It almost plays itself in some ways. It rings when I play it.
I really like the compound neck. It makes a huge difference; when I'm playing low on the neck, it doesn't fret out. The notes ring out more clearly than with any other guitar I own.
I love that it stays in tune. I have gone 3 days without tuning it.
Once everything settled in and the guitar is used to being played, it is just a great guitar to play. I can pick her up and play her without having to continually retune and worry about how it sounds.
I don't feel worthy when I am playing her.
There is NOT a non-usable tone in this guitar.
After playing Mexican strats, this guitar is SOLID!
I think it's a little high-priced, but it didn't stop me from buying it.

Like other reviewers, I found the pickups on the deluxe model thin, with no distinctive tone, no matter the witch position and the S-1 switching. For $1500.00 one would think that fender would provide great sounding pickups. Although the guitars is beautifully finished, I for one do not care for the compound radius neck, because it makes barre chords more difficult, going way down the fretboard. further, I never heard anyone complain about note bending on a American Standard Strat, with its 9.5" neck radius. To me the American Standard is what the Strat is all about. Save yourself $500.00 and get one instead.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
The compound radius neck is great, and notes bent beyond the 14th fret have great sustain with no buzzing or dead spots. The locking tuners keep this guitar in tune even after aggressive playing and tremolo bar action. The tone is great, and after I dialed in my pick-up height, it sounds as good as my other Strat that has 57/62 pick-ups, but without the hum. The only gripe I have is that the middle pick-up died after about 3 years, and the warranty didn't cover it. Other, than that, I have found this guitar to be well worth the money!

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
When you play a strat with a decent tube amp, ( I use a Fender Blues Jr. and a small Bugera) you won't have any excuses to not sound good. It's all up to you to play well. I've owned 4 other strats in the past including a 25th anniversary and I enjoyed all of them but this strat has the best action (I've been able to adjust it low), and it looks so sharp with it's amber ash color and white pearloid pickguard. I get compliments often. While I also love playing an Epiphone ES 175 for it's distinctive tone and classic look, this strat is easy on my fingers through 3 or 4 sets and has that wide selection of tones using the different pickup combinations. I had a Squire Tele which is a great guitar for that price but I still felt like I missed having a strat. I got mine used in a store and when I tried it, my knees went weak.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
Perfect guitar. N3 pickups have great sound and versatility. Finish on guitar is amazing. Musicians friend was easy to deal and the guitar shipped on time. I am very happy with this guitar. I was looking at Gibson SG, Les Paul's and PRS and feel I made the right choice. I can't imagine someone not being satisfied with this guitar.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
Having a small recording studio requires several guitars for different sounds. All of them are American made, such as Gibson, PRS, & other Fender Strats and Teles. To give you an example of how much I love this Stratocaster. My PRS is more than twice the value, but I would part with it before I would the American Deluxe Stratocaster. The S-1 switching gives a whole new meaning to using an array of pickup settings. The neck and frets are made so well, it gives a whole new meaning to the ease of playing. Mine is Tangerine Orange, which is no longer made. The finish is a work of art, and it is a pleasure to play. This is a guitar that could be used for any style of music you play. When using it with my Marshall JVM410 half stack, it is sick. If I plug it into my Fender Twin Reverb, smooth country, blues, or jazz sounds great. The American Deluxe is far superior to the American Standard, and worth the difference in price. They go up in price every year, so do yourself a favor and order one now.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I love the guitar ... I did change the .009 strings to .010. By doing that, there was minor adjustments for the truss rod, bridge height, nut (I filed a bit to accomodate larger diameters and to bring the strings down just a hair), and of course, intonation.
I DO have to bring the volume up on the amp a bit because the noiseless pickups (at prescribed height) have less output than normal. Listeners have told me, though, that the guitar cuts through the band's sound nicely. AND, the pickups are noiseless ... when I have a distortion pedal on ... QUIET! Unheard of with a Strat!!!
Very easy to play, beautiful finish, and I'd say the nicest Fender guitar I have ever owned.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
I have the 2011 American Delux Strat., and I must say it is the best guitar I have ever owned or played. I have owned a lot of Guitars and Basses. I am a Bass Player, but I write a lot on Guitar. This axe is perfect for the professional. A little pricey for the hobbyist or beginner, but a great investment in something that will only gain in value. Kudos to Fender !

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
The guitar is just a wonderful thing to play. I did replace the .009 strings with the .010 strings and did some minor set-up. I do have to get used to the snap-in (socket) tremelo bar. The thing comes with strap locks and actually a decent strap, not forgetting to mention the case.
I own a bunch of Fender instrumets (guitars and basses) and this one is at the top of the heap!

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
Excellent fit & finish with subtle improvements over my 1990 maple neck American Strat. Some minimal loss of that strat sparkle in Position #2 & #4, more so in #2 (due to the N3 noiseless pickups and/or the rosewood fingerboard), but the quiet between songs at club stage volumes more than makes up for any of the sonic compromise described. Further, the extra tones afforded with the S1 switching just might allow the Tele and PRS CE22 to stay home when playing out with the cover band. Worth the premium over the American Standard if you can spring for it.
Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
It would have been 10 out 10 all round but as there was a paint chip/crack on the guitar body and rough wood patch on neck, I think it would have been better in the "Gently Used" catogory not "Mint" as this would have saved me around $100.
That being said I really appreciate the quick reliable service and especially the free frieght.
I would certainly buy from here again and recommend them. I think I might have just been a little unlucky that mine did not quite match it's description.
It is still a wonderful guitar and I'm proud to own a piece of classic Americana.
Excellent pick ups and S1 control gives huge selection of tones. Beautiful feel and look to guitar.
A couple of flaws in the paint and wood work let it down but plays beautifully and feels wonderfull.
Certainly the N3 pickups are great for noise reduction.
Maybe a little over priced if it is a seconds guitar, would have been better in the "Gently Used" catogory.
Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster Electric Guitar:
Guitar has so many versitle tones with the N1 Switching. The Fender sound is all over it.
What can you say, a Fender is a Fender. A beautiful guitar. Has American quality all over it. Set up was perfect right out of the case. The finish perfect. Sound quality, it's a Fender. The N3 noiseless pick-ups work very well, they accomplished what they were intended to do.
What you would expect from an American made Fender. Excellent.
You get what you pay for. Guitar is priced just right for the quality you get and the Name behind it.
