The Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS is for guitarists who demand more from their electric guitar. The compound-radius fretboard encourages exhilaratingly effortless string bending anywhere along the neck. 2 new Fender N3 noiseless pickups supercharge your sound with improved Stratocaster tones while the DH-1 humbucking bridge pickup is right there when you need to take everything up to 11—all with no hum.
Reconfigured S-1 switching offers even more knockout tonal options. The all-new "passing lane" switch instantly routes your signal from any pickup position to the bridge position with the tone circuit bypassed, blasting overtones and volume straight into the Strat-osphere. Other American Deluxe features include staggered locking tuners, an LSR roller nut, 2-point synchronized American Deluxe tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and a beveled neck heel. Fender includes a molded Fender-exclusive SKB case with glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks, cable, and strap locks with the American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS.
Fender N3 Noiseless pickups
N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Stratocaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone, and Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. N3 pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. An Alnico 5 magnet is used in the bridge position, Alnico 2 in the middle position, and Alnico 3 for the neck position.

I've owned this guitar for 5 years, bought it new in black (gold pickguard) with a maple neck when they included the locking tremelo. The guitar when new was set up almost perfectly, like it came out of the custom shop. The range of tones available with the coil splitting is remarkable, and the neck pickup is hot. The ball bearing nut on the deluxe versions allow an almost endless sustain.Just recently I had a luthier here in austin tweak the neck a bit, adjust the pickup height, perform a little fretwork, and re-spring the tremelo. It now plays like air. Definitely my "go to" guitar.I suggest you try one of these out if you're looking for a strat. I am very happy with my purchase and plan on keeping mine for a looooong time.

I have many other Strats which I all love, but decided to take the next step up to the American Deluxe, mainly for the compound-radiused fingerboard, which I love.
Pros: Action and fretwork are the best I've ever played. The radius is subtle, yet noticeable aand extremely comfortable. Very solid joint. Definitely feels like it will last a lifetime, which is good because it's probably one of the very few guitars I will always keep. Locking tuners and pre-installed strap-locks are a nice touch. The case is also great, and I have no hesitations about shipping the guitar in it (it's already made the Transatlantic journey once). S-1 with the HSS gives many voices. But...
Cons: The pickups. Firstly, they were set up horribly. I understand that the humbuckers are going to have more output than the single coils, but the volume difference made switching pickups undoable. As for the sound, they've definitely got a more modern sound to them. It's actually quite a "perfect" sound, but to the point of being sterile and characterless. Unfortunately it sat in the case for most of the past year because, while it was incredibly great feeling to play, it sounded pretty boring to play. Of course, that's just my opinion and others may love the tones. I've ordered some new pups to stick in there to hopefully get some more life out of it. My second major gripe has to do with the body. I got the Olympic Pearl with maple, which is a beautiful finish, but even with the opaque finish you can clearly see, and even feel, the seam where the body blanks were glued together. It's a good 0.5mm raise. I would've been surprised to see this happen this badly to a Squier, but the fact that it passed QC to an AMERICAN DELUXE is absolutely unacceptable. Unfortunately, that's just one of the risks of buying blindly online. It's still not a bad guitar because of it, and sure it's just a cosmetic issue, but for that much money I would've expected a little better. Once I get new pickups in it, this will definitely be a great guitar.

Took a little time to re-tweak amp settings out.Dropped the strings a little,Tweaked pickup height.Guitar sings know.Thinking about putting a JB in the bridge,cause I love them in my other strats.Love the noiseless part of the N3's,I can make the tone work for me,I'm sure you can to.The S1 at first was a little weard,raised the highs & pres a little on amp,more useful know,backed of the tone a little on non S1 settings,know a whole new world.Very versatle guitar yo'll love it!

I've been waiting to get this guitar, so I wanted one with the bells and whistles. I was having a hard time deciding between the color I got and the metllic sunburst, but I like natural wood, and wnet with this one.
The most important part is to just play.
I got this strat ~3 weeks ago. I love it. it sounds fgtreat and is very playable. The S-1 switch doesn't do too much for me, but it doesn't hurt anything etiher. The only issues were 1) - a small pinhead sized bubble in the finish on the neck, and 2) - pretty bad fret buzz from having the action set too low. The fret buzz is easy to fix, but the bubble on the neck is there forever.
I got the 5-8 days shipping, ordered the guitar on Friday late and it got here on the next Wedensday.

This guitar is versatile and can give you and wide array of tones. Mine came to me flawless. Set up was awesome out of the box, action was low enough for my taste. Looks great also, I have the Tobacco Tri Burst with a dark fret board, my preference.
Evereything about the build quality is perfect. fender made a winner here!!!
I got mine for a sweet deal. Muscians Friend picked out one really great looking guitar!!!! They are amazing to work with, a pleasure in my opinion!!!!!

I've been eyeballing this guitar for a quite a while and saving up to pay for it. My wife surprised me with overnight shipping right before I went out of town and my new guitar got to make the road trip with me. I'm a church worship director and this guitar gives me so much more ability it's not even funny. The features of this guitar are amazing and it fills the room with great sound & tone. I wish I had the money to buy more products just like this one.

This guitar showed up like it came from the custom shop. Extremely versatile in tone, extremely fast action (once set up), great smooth neck (I got the maple). Sustain is enormous with the deluxe "nut".Too bad they don't offer the locking tremelo like they did when I bought this in 2005. It is a go-to guitar, you will not be dissatisfied with this purchase.

Just got this guitar. Was really excited when it was delivered. It is really nice looking and lightweight. Sunset metallic is stunning. Started to play it right out of the box after tuning it. about 15 minutes in, the S1 switch died. Then middle pickup was dead. No sound. I was really dissappointed. When it did play before it died, sounded OK. Humbucker really screamed. But I then compared to american standard strat that I have. I think I liked my standard better. Nicer looking and feeling neck. standard sounded better too. Anyways, I sent it back. Too bad. was really looking forward to keeping it.

owned this beast for 2 years now. nothin ever goes wrong. have to tune it like once a week tops. neck feels great. most versitle guitar i could think of. its likea mix between a strat and a SG. if you got 1500 bucks it is worth the money.
