I bought one of these guitars almost two years ago when Fender was having it's 50th Aniversery $100 off program. For the $750 I spent, you CANNOT buy better. S- 1 gives you any tone you want (except for the violent explosion the Jaguar gives). This is a good example of why NOT to buy a Gibson. If you want anything similar to the S-1 on a Gibson expect to look at the Custom Shop's $3000+ models. This was my first guitar, I've been playing it almost non- stop for two years straight. Not one problem yet, except my mom slammed the case on the top of the guitar when she was cleaning, putting a ding in the top, but that's not the guitar's fault. I'd run into a burning building to get it out. It is so choice. If you have the means, good man, please do pick one up.

I played my friends american made fat strat and loved it. So I bought the american HH hardtail with S-1 switching. None of the local stores had one so I bought it online without playing it first. Big mistake!!The first strum was all it took for me to know this was not what I wanted. The guitar is twangy and weak. A few years ago this guitar came with Semour Duncans and had a strong sound. These fender pickups are limp.I played it only a few minutes and listed it for sale on the internet. Only lost a few hundred bucks. I have since bought a Schecter guitar with through body neck and seymour duncans. It feels great and it rocks!! No more bolt on necks for me.

This guitar sounds great and can produce a wide variety of tones. The coil tapping allows for that single coil classic strat sound or humbucker for a more meaty distorted sound. I am very pleased with everything about this guitar. Note to BluesMan, the twangy sound is either your cheap amp, your cheap playing or both. Learn how to play guitar before you go out and buy a quality guitar. You might want to consider a few distortion pedals to make your bad playing less obvious. The fact that you played it for a few hours and put it up for sale says it all.
I've been searching for a new guitar for a while and heres what I got out of it Gibson-good sound and looks overpriced Ibanez-very cheap, cool looks, not versatile, cheap pickups Epiphone-extremely cheap, look and sound great, versitle, closest thing to gibson Fender-great sound and price, very versitle, plays perfect As you can tell, I went for and I am more than happy. I love it!
This is a great guitar. The dual Humbuckers really cook. Everything else is vintage Strat.
This guitar is probably one of the most innovative guitars out there. With its coil splitting capabilities it's like having 2 guitars in one. The action is great and the sound is incredible. As far as cost goes they are every bit, if not better than many guitars costing nearly twice as much. I think fender hit the nail right on the head with this guitar.
I love this guitar's sound.
This guitar will do anything you are able to do. If smooth is what you want, then that is what you get. Then, if hard classic rock is your pleasure. This guitar will kick butt.
I cover a large variety of styles and this guitar is versatile enough to cover the entire spectrum. My only complaint was that the factory setup did not do the instrument justice. Too much neck relief, Very High Action, and the tremolo was configured with three springs, making it difficult to stay in tune. Once adjusted to my likings, I have really grown to love this instrument. The chrome red finish and black pick guard make it quite notceable as well.I own a variety of other Fenders, Gibsons, and vairous other electrics, but this is now my main guitar. Amazing Tone coming out of this guitar.. particularly when playing lead through the neck pickup. I would recommend this to anyone considering a more expensive instrument.
I had to wait about 3 months for this thing to come in....but it's worth a 9 month wait! This guitar feels and plays like a dream.
I just picked this bad boy up a couple weeks ago and I LOVE IT! The pickups withe the S-1 switching is amazing. I suggest you restring it though. I prefer Super Bullets 3250M Medium Electric Guitar Strings. It gives this strat unbelivable tone!!! GO GET THIS STRAT TODAY
I've played many guitars and all have a specific signiture of their own. The Strat HH has a unique signiture that it gets from the Sidewinder and Black Cobra Humbuckers placed in it. Coupled with the new S1 switching this guitar screams with Twang, Mellow and bell like sounds that only this configuration can achieve. Playability, action and smoothness are its key. Nothing even comes close. Play one and you will own it. Fender has done it again. Customise this beauty and you will have a One OF A Kind instrument. Don't take my word for it, play one and see for yourself. Mine is a permanent resident of my Fender collections. Good hunting.
