I bought one of these guitars almost two years ago when Fender was having it's 50th Aniversery $100 off program. For the $750 I spent, you CANNOT buy better. S- 1 gives you any tone you want (except for the violent explosion the Jaguar gives). This is a good example of why NOT to buy a Gibson. If you want anything similar to the S-1 on a Gibson expect to look at the Custom Shop's $3000+ models. This was my first guitar, I've been playing it almost non- stop for two years straight. Not one problem yet, except my mom slammed the case on the top of the guitar when she was cleaning, putting a ding in the top, but that's not the guitar's fault. I'd run into a burning building to get it out. It is so choice. If you have the means, good man, please do pick one up.

I played my friends american made fat strat and loved it. So I bought the american HH hardtail with S-1 switching. None of the local stores had one so I bought it online without playing it first. Big mistake!!The first strum was all it took for me to know this was not what I wanted. The guitar is twangy and weak. A few years ago this guitar came with Semour Duncans and had a strong sound. These fender pickups are limp.I played it only a few minutes and listed it for sale on the internet. Only lost a few hundred bucks. I have since bought a Schecter guitar with through body neck and seymour duncans. It feels great and it rocks!! No more bolt on necks for me.

Note To BluesMan

By JeekersCripe

This guitar sounds great and can produce a wide variety of tones. The coil tapping allows for that single coil classic strat sound or humbucker for a more meaty distorted sound. I am very pleased with everything about this guitar. Note to BluesMan, the twangy sound is either your cheap amp, your cheap playing or both. Learn how to play guitar before you go out and buy a quality guitar. You might want to consider a few distortion pedals to make your bad playing less obvious. The fact that you played it for a few hours and put it up for sale says it all.

This is a great guitar. The dual Humbuckers really cook. Everything else is vintage Strat.

Fender hit it right on the head with this guitar

By bigleech

from edgewood, KY

This guitar is probably one of the most innovative guitars out there. With its coil splitting capabilities it's like having 2 guitars in one. The action is great and the sound is incredible. As far as cost goes they are every bit, if not better than many guitars costing nearly twice as much. I think fender hit the nail right on the head with this guitar.

This guitar will do anything you are able to do. If smooth is what you want, then that is what you get. Then, if hard classic rock is your pleasure. This guitar will kick butt.

One Great Guitar

By Mike - Locked IN Guitarist

from Hazlet, NJ

I cover a large variety of styles and this guitar is versatile enough to cover the entire spectrum. My only complaint was that the factory setup did not do the instrument justice. Too much neck relief, Very High Action, and the tremolo was configured with three springs, making it difficult to stay in tune. Once adjusted to my likings, I have really grown to love this instrument. The chrome red finish and black pick guard make it quite notceable as well.I own a variety of other Fenders, Gibsons, and vairous other electrics, but this is now my main guitar. Amazing Tone coming out of this guitar.. particularly when playing lead through the neck pickup. I would recommend this to anyone considering a more expensive instrument.

I just picked this bad boy up a couple weeks ago and I LOVE IT! The pickups withe the S-1 switching is amazing. I suggest you restring it though. I prefer Super Bullets 3250M Medium Electric Guitar Strings. It gives this strat unbelivable tone!!! GO GET THIS STRAT TODAY

Fender Out Does Itself

By Ice+Man

from Pelham NH

I've played many guitars and all have a specific signiture of their own. The Strat HH has a unique signiture that it gets from the Sidewinder and Black Cobra Humbuckers placed in it. Coupled with the new S1 switching this guitar screams with Twang, Mellow and bell like sounds that only this configuration can achieve. Playability, action and smoothness are its key. Nothing even comes close. Play one and you will own it. Fender has done it again. Customise this beauty and you will have a One OF A Kind instrument. Don't take my word for it, play one and see for yourself. Mine is a permanent resident of my Fender collections. Good hunting.

A supierior musical example of fender expertise. The dual humbucker configuration allows the user more tonal range. Add on the S-1 switch and you've got one of the most versatile instruments on the market.

This guitar is AWESOME!

By Anonymous

I bought this guitar a few years back, and never got a chance to right a review. I must say this is an Amazing guitar. I've been using it for concerts with my band and its just perfect. The fretboard has a smooth feel to it, and the humbuckers are fantastic. This guitar is one of the best I've ever played or seen.

Unbelievable!

By Brenda

from Dadeville, AL

I've been playing for 15 years, and this the sweetest of any electric guitar I ever had my hands on. Playing it is almost effortless...very silky, while the the S-1 switching gives me any sound I want. I love my Gibson ES-135, but the HH Strat offers more control and superior playablity. If I had to give up all my guitars except one, I would keep my Strat!Get one of these, and you'll be very happy!

I may have got a lemon?

By Philbert68

I've had my American Strat HH for about 2 years. The first year was great. Since then it won't stay in tune and the pickups don't work in 4 positions. I've had it setup & checked out by an authorized repair center and it is no better. I wish I could trade it for another and start over!!

Stratocaster HH Electric Plays Everything

By jammin_jared

from Minot, ND

I have been interested in this guitar for a long time and I finally decided to buy it. The S-1 switch along with the normal switching gives you a lot of control. The pickups are amazing. It does everything for a crisp clean to a heavy chug and for the pirce and quality of a fender you can't go wrong.

Ask me a question

I have had the Fender HH almost a year. This guitar is the only guitar you will ever need. If you want smooth, warm blues, jazz, classic rock, even medal, this guitar can do it. The multiple pick up settings will give you any sound you need. It will take you some time to figure out how each pick up setting sounds. The guitar is built well and it is a Fender all the way. I see no reason to spend more money on anything else. If your not happy with this product, I'm not sure any guitar would make you happy.

This guitar is awesome!!!

By Strat_Man222

from Waunakee, WI

I have had this guitar for 10 months, and it is freakin' sweet! It works very well live, while recording, and when just jamming. There are also endless options with the S-1 switching, and the two humbuckers. This is a fabulous guitar!

versatile and delicious

By Anonymous

from Undisclosed

This is by far my favorite guitar I have ever played/owned. You can get single coil and double coil out of it, its pretty, and feels ridiculously smooth. The only reason I don't give it a 5 for features is because there are only two completely single coil variations (not counting two single coils in series) to get out of it. It only lacks a middle single coil. Double coil variations offer the full package. the sound quality itself is beautiful. I give it a 4 for quality because the spring that goes around the screw that keeps my neck pickup I'm place gets twisted and warped, making it slightly lopsided until I adjust it. Nothing that effects performance, really. definitely a 5 for the "what you get/ what you pay for" ratio.

Love this guitar

By DFatStrat

from Universal City, TX

I love this guitar. I've looked at buying other guitars but I always come back to my strat. I can play anything from blues to metal on this guitar. I'll spend my money on a better amp instead of a new guitar. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.
