I played the drums in the early 60's also (had) an orginal 62SG picked aroud on it Picked and played about 40 years off and on sat out about 15 years back in now bought some knock offs of Gibson and Fender. Really didn't think this could be the real deal at the price I got it for It was far more than I expected, beautiful' play's perfect the intonation was right on I put it through some hard riffs and bent the strings really high can't believe how it stays in tune and keeps on going. It's the real deal and more can't believe the price you get it all. THANKS FENDER
Have owned this guitar for about 1.5 wks. First off it is drop dead gorgeous. I mean the quilt maple top matches grain perfectly. The body cuts on it make it hang like a strat but still feel like a tele. The neck is superb on this thing. M-J frets that are as smooth a glass both on top and on the sides, read that as no hang ups running up and down the frets at all. This guitar as a ton of sustain too and for a bolt on neck that is a big plus. The Kluson tuners are excellant on it. This axe stays in tune and is easy to tune when it needs it. The machine heads allow for micro adjustments that you can only see on a electronic tuner they are that fine. The only draw back I find on this axe is the HH's. They are the Enforcer's which are Fenders most responsive. These things flat out put out sound. The tone and vol. nobs are super responsive too with excellant taper to them. So the response thing may not be such a bad thing as you can control it if you have half a brain. For the price I paid it was a steel. This axe will play anything you want to play and will play it with kick butt punch. This is definetly a pro players axe and I may not being do it justice with this review as I ain't a pro but I do like it. thanks
I love this guitar, the color, the sound, and the pickups. Got it on sale and it was worth it. Sounds great through my 100W tube 8X12 inch Carvin stack. Just wish it came with a 5 way switch. I would compare the quality to my 1976 telecaster. Fender still makes them right.
How can you go wrong? This Fender American series is priced more than half off! The versatility of this fine Tele is incredible. You can get that Tele sound along with the deeper tones that the dual Humbuckers provide. Don't ask me why they are clearing the shelves, but who wants to argue with value? Buy this Fender NOW!
Very unique guitar ... not many wish to acquire a tele with humbuckers and a quilted maple top. I was very skeptical about the pups but was pleasantly surprised. This guitar screams! For under seven hundred bucks it is a steal, and with a case! Sweet!
Overall a pretty cool guitar and a nice bargain as well. Can play pretty much any type of style on this guitar from blues to hard rock, so if you want a diverse guitar that does it all, looks, sounds and feels good, go ahead and get this beauty while they are still selling for a great price.
Just had to say this guitar is the most breathtaking in my collection. The maple top is not just a veneer but tis actualy a 1/4 inch slab that is carved. It gives a dark binding look that is rare. athe bodt has the same relief curves like a strat which makes it much more comfortable. Over all its a top notch american fender tele quality with better looks. Just bear in mind that its does not have the S-1 switching. But the pick-ups are very hot!!!
Fender hit this one perfect. As far as looks its a Masterpiece. I thought the humbuckers might not serve the purpose + cut the range down but I wanted the power of 2 humbuckers. I have been sold on the 3 singles for a long time+ took a chance with this set-up. It was not not a disapointment at all. I dont gig the guitar but it fits the bill for everything else. The humbuckers are in my opinion better than any other American I played, no matter what configuration. You can also feel the difference between this + every other American Fender that I have played. It was a great buy at a grand, I am not disapointed in any way at all.
This is a great guitar. The fit, finish, and playability are second to none. No adjustments were needed on mine, just tuned it and everything else was setup perfectly. The online specs dont show it but this is a Fender Special Run limited edition. It has Enforcer pickups and the Delta tone control. It also includes a strap, cable, polishing cloth, and adjustment tools. This is a great guitar and a great value.
