Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
The Strat has what they call a floating bridge. I had to take the back off to tighten the springs so that bridge would not hardly move at all, because it would simply not stay in tune. Before I tightened the springs I spent 3 days just trying to keep it in tune. Now it plays nice, and stays in tune. If anyone else has that problem, this is the fix. Very happy now. Musicians Friend shipped it to me in 3 days. Great Job.!!!

Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
This guitar is amazing. I own a 2008 Amer. Standard also, but this one is miles ahead. First off, both the strats I own are Olympic White with rosewood fretboard. The neck and and rolled edges on the 2012 are easily superior. The 2008 is nice as well, but this one plays like an old broken in relic, so smooth! The fretboard is much better quality, at least to me. On the 2008 the dark tint started coming off after a few weeks of playing. The 2012's neck is not as dark, but it seems a lot more durable. Also, the body color is incredible, especially the white with aged white plastic parts (tone/volume knobs, pup covers, etc), it just looks like a masterpiece. This one has the 2 point bridge/trem, which seems much better and stays in tune well, unlike my 2008.
More importantly, the Pups in this sucker alone make this guitar far superior, (custom shop 50's!!!) go try one out!! it has incredible, I mean insane clean sounds, so clear and bright, but can be very warm and jazzy as well on the neck. and guess what? has a very classy growl as well with some dirt. tone bypass feature works very well with volume on 10
Guys, this is by far the best deal Fender has put out in a very long time, no Gibson I've played has ever been better than this, and this is actually affordable for most people. this baby can do anything. (The SKB case is also awesome) if i were to have one guitar, this is it.

Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
I'm very happy with my 2012 American Standard. I was a bit leery ordering a guitar online without playing it first, but fortunately the condition of the guitar was excellent right out of the box and I have no complaints whatsoever. It plays great and sounds great and was just what I was hoping to receive for the money I paid. Overall, it's a sweet guitar!

Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
Every guitar is a little different, even if it comes from the same builders at the same factory. I had played some really nice 2012 Strats and at least one semi-dud. I loved the redesign and return to the original saddles and 50s pups. So, I had my fingers crossed when I mail-ordered a new one ... Oh, man. This guitar is a beauty -- gorgeous craftsmanship and super resonant. You can pluck a string, hold the guitar up by the neck, and feel the vibration down at body near the jack. The alder body is light and the sunburst is lustrous. The neck is luscious and smooth. The frets are perfectly polished. And the pickups are alive and full of character and tone. This is everything you could ever expect from a Strat. Wonderful!

Cons
- Frets needed polishing
- Neck was dry needed oil

Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
This is a very nice well built Fender Strat for a great price. I have always wanted a white Olympic Strat like Jimi's and this thing looks awesome in color.
No mint green pickguard, that is a plus and the aged plastic looks very nice and well done. It is like an Ivory creamy white very classy looking. The only problem I had at first was that the frets felt kinda rough and so I gave them a polish with 8000 grit emery cloth and now they feel smooth and creamy. Also the rosewood looked a bit dry so I conditioned that as well and put some Dunlop 10's on it and now it plays like a dream. Other than that it is a great guitar that will keep me happy for many years to come! I think that Fender has upped their quality recently. Plus it is made in the good ole USA. I play it through a Mesa Trans Atlantic and it totally gets that Fender clear bell tone and also some very nice distorted tones too without any nasty dissonent overtones...so I think the 50's pickups they put in this guitar was a very good choice. I checked under the "hood" and it is routed to also accept neck/bridge humbuckers if needed. I really like that option too, and is so easy to slap a new pickgaurd loaded with that configuration on to it. So it is also a very versatile and easily upgradeable instrument!! Bottom line is that it has a great neck and body that feel awesome to play and this is my 3rd strat all US made, and this is by far the best one of all.
Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
I've owned allot of guitars: a Fender (foreign) made terrible sound and action, a Gibson Les Paul Style impersonator (Cort good sound and play but excessively heavy), an Epiphone (fat boy good sound but lousy action), an old Kay well used good playing (couldn't keep it tuned due to humidity), one or two nameless. I own: a RIFF (semi hollow body electric acoustic neck is permanent) a great playing guitar thats big bodied but stays in tune and has great action (marketed by JC Penny sued by Gibson copyright violation) the large body wears me out quickly, a 1984 Kramer (semi hollow body electric acoustic pre-amp, too tenor sounding bolt on neck) stays in tune with good action, an ESP LTD E-200 (heavy metal or etc) great playing guitar and stays in tune but too heavy for me. Glad I bought this guitar, with a neck injury that put an end to playing gigs I really needed a light well made and great sounding guitar. And the contour body is awesome! Played it recently for 3 hours straight with no complaint.
This Fender has satisfied my craving for the best sound options sweet or raunchy tones I've only heard and relished. Tried it jacked into my old Marshall amp, as well as the Fender Frontman 212 amp bought along with this sweet and light Stratocaster. With such a wide range of pickup selection, layback and let the guitar play itself.
Very high quality workmanship and electronic technology! The finger board is smooth as silk all the way up and down and the action is the best Ive experienced. The tone controls are very responsive.
Vertually replaces two or more of my guitars having a rich bandwidth and the light contour body is easy to handle.
Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
If you every wanted a Strat but was on the fence. Go ahead buy this one the 2012 is a nice guitar it plays and sounds great. And great job Musician's Friend. I was worried It wouldnt be here for my Birthday Sunday with Memorial Day in there and all but ordered on Friday and received it Wed even with Express Shipping good job getting it out. Have nothing but good things to say about you guys. Thanks for being there....
Looks and plays great what more can I say. The Fat 50's are great upgrade.I ordered the Charcoal Frost and rosewood looks nice with the rosewood.
Nice job. Everything was perfect with one little exception one of the tone control nobs stick a little no big deal.
Cheap with other standard guitars made in USA almost 3 times as much. They could charge a couple hundred more and it would be worth it.
Comments about Fender 2012 American Standard Stratocaster Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard:
Best American strat in years.. Well worth the money.. Get it... The new greenish color looks nice.. I just wanted a white strat..
Purchased this guitar about a week ago. Olympic white.. When it showed up to my house I gave it a quick setup and away we went. I guess the big difference maker for me were the fat 50's pups.. Very nice upgrade! Should've been on there all along. Plays just as you know it can. Very well.. It's an American strat....
Once again the pups are what does it for me... Very very nice vintage strat sound. I play through a slew of amps.. I prefer playing this through a twin reverb.. No pedals... Just clean with a hint of spring verb...
Very good purchase and not as expensive as a deluxe. But the pups make it sound better than the deluxe.
Maybe fender should do something like this to their deluxe models. Just sayin.. Blows the noiseless s1 crap away....
It a fender... It's very nice.... Clean and no blemishes.. The pups pole are staggerd quite a bit so a setup is needed.. But once dialed in.. It's very tone full. Round, full, almost woody tone.
Great value for the tones you are getting...
