OVERVIEW

Among the American Standard Stratocaster guitars, the HSS Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fingerboard model is the hot rod of the bunch, with more output and warmth from its Custom Shop Fat '50s Single-Coil pickups and Diamondback humbucking pickup. The S-1 switch is removed to keep it simple, but don't worry - Fender kept key features such as the hand-rolled fingerboard edges and staggered tuning machines, and they added several new features, including an improved bridge with bent-steel saddles and a copper-infused high-mass block for increased resonance and sustain. Other features include tinted neck, rosewood fingerboard, satin-finished neck back, thinner finish undercoat that lets the body breathe and improves resonance, and Fender Tolex case.

Incredible tonal versatility on a distinctly American axe.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fretboard:

This Fender American Fat Strat Sunburst/ Rosewood guitar is perfect in every way, no flaws or defects noticed so far, & I am pretty picky. In my opinion it is not a metal guitar but is a great all around rock / blues axe. A special thanks to Fender & the Fender craftsmen who made this guitar possible, it was also very well boxed to protect it during shipping, I am very pleased with this guitar & won't part with it.

You cannot beat a Fender American Standard Strat. Great workmanship and tone. Also, I have been dealing with Musicians Friend for fifteen years, and you cannot beat their prices or incredible customer service. Thanks again MF.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fretboard:

I have owned this guitar for a year and a half and it is my go to guitar. The setup was fine when I received it but I did take it for professional setup from the guy who services the Berkley School of Music and it is over the top great action now. I have gone back and forth between decking the bridge and playing with it floating. It is currently decked but it did stays intune well with it floating. But decked I tune it once per long playing secession.

If you buy one guitar this is it. No review can give justice to the experience of playing this guitar, if you can get out and try one for your self.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fretboard:

Great Guitar , feels good , great tone , I'm very pleased with the guitar. I have several other guitars, LP's & Tele's & Strats , and this one is just what you would expect. I played it out live two nights as soon as I got it! I've really become a strat fan in the last 10yrs. I really like Fender's approach to Value in their equipment, and the working Musician. And Musicians Friend is great to work with too !

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fretboard:

I've played Gibsons since the 70's and thought I'd try a strat. It obviously is a completely different guitar than what I was used to. I'm really happy with it. The finish is excellent and the sound is very good. I had some weird issues with it when it arrived. The case had some cuts in it, the instructions were all in Spanish and there was no tremolo bar. I also found the strings were not bullets, which are what are supposed to be in it from the factory. I don't know if this was a return or what. Musicians Friend offered to send me another guitar, but I declined since it seems fine. I did get a bar from Fender directly. I have also decked the bridge with 5 springs and I'm real happy with it.

Comments about Fender American Standard Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar with Rosewood Fretboard:

I did not buy this guitar here on MF, but from a local music/online retailer I happen to know. I noticed there were no reviews, so I decided to write one.

When I opened my up my box and case, and first laid eyes on my baby, a huge smile, and child like eagerness to plug her in and play her immediately was overwhelming. Knowing what I do about guitars and owning quite a few (Gibs LP's, 62'81'96'Strats)I knew after picking her up for the first time that she would need some adjustments. This is common in any new guitar. I have never come across a guitar that has been "ready to play" out of the box.

I got the Triple Sunburst and the paint job is perfect. The guitar comes with strings that should be used as cheese slicers. So, you will need to change them. (I use .11's by Elixir.) You will need to open the back and adjust the bridge and intonate her. You may even have to adjust the truss rod (it is rare that it is off from a new purchase, but it can happen due to fast temperature changes where it was stored, than shipped) If you do not know how to do this, and you are not mechanically inclined, I recommend contacting your local music/guitar stores luthier (guitar tech), who will be more than happy to help you for a small fee. If you are so inclined to advance in your efforts, you can go on youtube and there are videos on how to do so. (Just make sure you are willing to pay in tears, and out of pocket if you break something. Also, have the right tools.) After the tweaks and elbow grease, Leonora (I name all of my guitars) plays like a charm and the bad B that she is. She has great tone, sound, and the pickups are great. I have had friends flip out the tex mex PUPS and wind up putting them back becuase of their tone. It is all preference. The Diamond PUP screams and the tone changes are pronounced, and immediate with the tone knobs, and PUP selector. I play her through a 65' Twin Reverb and she loves getting plugged in. How do I know? She tells me every time I turn her on. What is a bonus when buying this guitar is that it comes with a solid, hardshell case.

I highly recommend this HSS Strat! You will not be disappointed.
