I purchased this for my daughter who is left handed...so that makes it hard to try guitars out in stores. I wanted her to have something playable that would not frustrate her too much for a first guitar. I was really upset when I saw the made in china emblem inside the guitar...THEY DEFINITELY should tell you country of origin in the descriptions. But do not let that dissuade you from giving this one a try. I am simply shocked at the tonal quality of this guitar...its warm and its loud...the electronics reproduce very accurately the acoustic tone of this guitar. I keep thinking they put the wrong one in the box...this guitar is easily worth $700 in sound quality/playability alone. Action is soft and setup was not too much of a hassle. Fit and finish is good for a production line guitar. The tuners are mediocre and thats my only gripe so far...they work ok but they have slack right out of the box...I do not expect them to last. The guitar does keep its tuning fairly well despite the tuners (think a lot of blues playing here). We have not had it long enough to comment on reliability but I can see no issues except maybe tuners in the future. I have been playing for over 20 years and now I want a right handed version of one of these. I basically think it was a steal and if the rest of them are 75% as good as this one you cant go wrong. Fantastic acoustic on a budget.
This guitar sounded great right out of the box. Beautiful crisp tone. Sounds excellent plugged in as well. You will not find a better acoustic in this price range.
The best you can buy for under $300 period! I've had more guitars than the local music store, and this is my favorite. A nice low action, small neck, and famous Fender deep tones.
I picked this beauty up a little while ago from the local shop and I am indeed impressed. Nice action all across the fretboard, deep tones in acoustic or electric and a very easy to look at design. The cutaway body allows for easy access to the upper frets, and it holds its tune exquisitely. The only imperfections I could find are more minor gripes; I wish there was a strap pin at the upper portion of the body to allow for easy strapping and de-strapping. Also, I think it would be cool to offer this model in a variety of colors such as black and sunburst. I am perfectly happy with the natural finish; I just would have liked to have the choice. With out a doubt this is a beautiful guitar both in sound and in looks, and you cannot go wrong with the price. If you're looking for a quality acoustic electric guitar for playing gigs or just rocking out at home, don't hesitate to give the Fender CD100CE a close look.
This is trully a great guitar. For an entry-level price, this guitar gives you great sound, and durability. My friend has a Taylor, and my guitar is just as loud as his is, plugged in. My only complaints are that it did not come with a second peg for the strap, and the pegs holding in the strings were junk. After some new pegs, though, it is a wonderful deal. I would highly recomend it.
I've had this one for over a year. It's a smart buy and I'm happy with the tone. Out of the box, the guitar had a few quality issues. The battery box screw was stripped and the output jack was loose. Once I fixed that, changed the strings and adjusted the truss, I love it. I think it sounds great considering the low price. Even with the minor quality issues I think this was a smart buy.
I've been playing in many different bands for a number of years now and tried out different axes in the past .... but for a lower budget guitar you are definately getting an awesome deal ... the action on this guitar is incredible and the sound quality with and without an amplifier is just awesome ... definately one of my more favorite guitars
I bought this guitar with less then high expectations, but right as I started playing it I knew it was one of the best guitars out there for the money. It sounds great like some of the higher priced gibsons or taks, only being a fraction of the cost. The only thing I would recommend is replacing the stock strings right as you get it because they arent that good. Other then that a great buy I would recommend to all either beginner or expert!
