A classical that plays easier with a slightly narrower neck.
The CDN240SCE guitar is quite an interesting instrument; a hybrid nylon-string that actually isn't a classical guitar, strictly speaking, because it has a soft cutaway and a slightly thinner neck profile that's easier on the fretting hand. Other features include a solid cedar top, rosewood back and sides and built-in electronics.

i love this thing. best in its price range! period! Fender really has some good stuff, even if it's cheap. I was very skeptical upon arrival because of the factory strings. Once I got some newer savarez classicals on there it was gorgeous.

I read a lot of reviews on different electric classical guitars before I chose the Fender. What won me over was that this Fender has a thinner neck but not a thin body like most classical hybrids. I have small hands and a messed up finger so the Fender's comfort is nice. Unfortunately it's thin sounding. No beef acoustically. So for recording purposes, it's weak. Very weak. However, plugged in, for live shows, it's a nice guitar to have. The tuning pegs need improvement. I'm working on a bone saddle right now to swap out the synthetic one. I'm hoping that will help the strings sing to the solid top louder because right now solid top is just a sales perk and doesn't live up to that sweet sound often spoken of with solid tops. It's a live, tote around guitar that is very comfortable. It's not much of studio guitar or "unplugged" porch pal.

A nice neck,I found it easy to play, it diddn't have the projection and sounded thin . The biggest problem was the keys, they seemed flopppyloose and wouldn't hold tunning.Why in the world would someone buy a new guitar and have to put new keys on it to play out? Fix the keys and sell more guitars.

For adults w/small hands this is a great deal vs other big brand factory-produced options at a low price. Scale length is 643mm vs 650 found in Cordoba, Taylor, Yamaha, Alvarez, Lucero, La Patrie, Gibson, Guild, Rodriguez, Ibanez, Alvarez, etc.Width at Nut is 46mm. Most (not all) are 50. Others under 50 are usually thin-bodied guitars.Neck joins body at 12th fret. Top of nut to middle of waist is 520mm, on my Martin 000-28, it's 527. I can reach the 1st fret easier on the Fender.Top is solid Cedar. Most pro and custom classicals are also. Do not buy a laminated top guitar. Fender has laminated back and sides. Most people can't tell the difference between laminated vs solid. Solid will age/sound better, but is more expensive.Things to change: lower the action, put on Savarez 500CR Cristal Corums.Shame there aren?t better options for small hands. With a lot more money, best option is to contact a luthier for a custom job. For the $ this looks great, has electronics a cutaway and fits.
