A legendary Fender model just as it was in 1959.
Out of all of the Fender Telecaster family instruments, the Esquire is one of the most desired by knowledgable players. Its unique circuitry and biting bridge pickup gave it merciless tonal edge that made it the choice of such greats as Jeff Beck, Bruce Springsteen, and many others. It has gone on to re-emerge again and again in the hands of great guitar players. The Custom Shop has painstakingly researched original instruments in order to re-create this exact replica of the 1959 Esquire including its rare "top-load" bridge. The result is one of the most responsive and resonant guitars Fender has ever built! And as a Closet Classic it has the aged look of a well-worn warrior.

If money is no object, then buy this. If you'll second guess yourself later on, then buy the excellent made MIM Esquire and buy yourself a Fender Hard Shell case for the little extra dough in a color of your own choice and you'll save alot of money and still have an admirable set-up, less a a Custom shop Logo and Certificate and a few case goodies...
I bought this guitar two years ago, and am still very very pleased with it. The sound is comparable to a Epiphone Casino, but with more bite and a solidbody twang. The neck is such a joy, it is smooth and playable, but yet it still has an old vintage feel to it. The guitar is always in tune and I have had no problems with the setup. The Vintage Blonde colour is fantastic, it is very very appealing. And lastly, if you ever think about buying this guitar, do it, it will last you for a lifetime.
If you can't play this is not the guitar for you!! I knew when fender custom shop announced this guitar I would own one. But when you get it in your hands to see and hear the quality you wonder how you ever got by without it. The Esquire has an amazing acoustic ring to it and it rips when plugged in. The neck is very comfortable but the best that you can only understand if you play it is the top load bridge. It gives a faster feel and not so stiff like a reg. 52 style tele. I do wish it was NOS and not closet classic but thats just cosmetic. Sometimes you have to decide is it worth it for the $$ and hands down it is. This is the best guitar I have ever owned and currently it's the only one!!! Great job Fender Custom Shop!!!
