I got this guitar about a month ago. I've been playing on an inadequate guitar for awhile and I wanted to upgrade to suit my playing skills. I liked this guitar because it is unique. I've never heard of any famous guitar players who use this guitar and I wanted something different rather than a Gibson les paul(like I could afford it) or a strat. The guitar looks very good, although as other reviewers have said, it is very heavy. You somewhat get used to the heaviness. I got a new marshall combo amp to go along with it and I've experimented quite a bit. I've found that playing both pickups at once does not sound good. The neck pickup isn't all that great, but you could have it changed. I'm more of a one pickup guy and the bridge pickup is fine. It sounds fat and powerful with distortion. I am, however, going to have a gibson humbucker put in instead. I got mine in orange and it looks amazing. The one thing that surprised me was the neck. It's made me a much faster player. I have had to get used to the smaller frets compared to my last guitar. Sometimes when I play a chord my fingers have a hard time staying in the right position, a problem I didn't have on my last guitar. Overall, it's a good guitar if it suits how you play. Sounds okay on clean, sounds great distorted. If you don't play much rock type music, I wouldn't really recommend it. If you are into punk and want to be unique, go for it.

Great guitar

This guitar is awesome. I love it because of all the different variations with the two humbuckers. Has a nice body design like mustang and a sweet deal!!!

Ups & Downs All Around

I bought this guitar special ordered from a guitar store without trying it our first since they had none in store. That was a mistake. First it does look very cool, but man, its a heavy guitar. I use to call it " my tank ". When I first got it home I hated the way it sounded, in my opinion the neck pickup was way to deep and muddy sounding. The bridge pickup was fairly decent actually and I liked using this guitar for clean echo-y effects and with chorus because it sounded quite clear. Distortion wise.. I hate it. Its just an opinion but with my pedal presets the distortion sounded like ****, so I had to go and adjust them to try and sound better. The selector switch was also quite lose after only a short time of playing and there was a slight shortage problem with the pickups at some points. While the switch would be in the middle... the bridge pickups were selected, I had to lightly tap it for it to re-register the middle . The neck isnt very fast and that was disapointing. I just sold this guitar off and got a mexican tele instead, more of my thing because the cyclone just wasnt working out for me.

this is one awesome kick butt guitar with some killer pickups to get that ronchy sound. one downside to it is the bridge i would've gone with a full floyd rose or nothin at all.

Great guitar at an unbelievably low price !

I'd rank the quality of these guitars right up there with the Japanese made Mustang Reissues. There is great attention to detail. I bought the Daphne Blue and it is incredibly beautiful and plays great. I'd recommend it to anyone without hesitation!!

Great Guitar

I own several guitars (Strats, SG, Les Paul) and even though I don't play the Cyclone as much as I do the other guitars, it is the nicest "playing" guitar of them all - the most "comfortable" guitar I have ever played. An amazing value for the money.

the 10 ton monster

By dorfman

from Undisclosed

I've owned this guitar for a little over 4 months. This is certianitly the best gutiar i own. I have a Fender Strat, and a Fender Jag-Stang. It has a nice warm thick tone, its clear tone also not muddy at all. My friend has a 72' tele deluxe reissue and honestly they sound almost exactly a like. The neck is a little square, and you can feel the frets when you slide your hands down it on the sides of it. The jumbo frets are easy to get used to if you have a guitar with small frets. The only thing i can complain about its that it is a very heavy guitar. I would compare it too the Les Paul's, otherwise this guitar is a monster. I gave it a 9 on features because its heavy. Quality is perfect its a perfect guitar, i feel like i can drop it and it will be fine. Value is also a 10 because i thought i ripped off fender with the price, its such a sweet guitar. If you are looking for a guitar that has a great tone, and don't mind the heaviness I suggest this guitar, however Fender did, discontinue them so get yours fast.

Great guitar!

By SamSim

from Rochester, NY

I recently purchased this guitar about a month ago and I am more pleased with it every day. I finally decided to get myself a quality guitar after owning several epiphones, a squire, and a samick. The first thing that drew me to the cyclone was its awesome look. It just caught my eye. Not to many people play cyclones anymore, and I like being unique.First off, this guitar has an awsome neck. I usually play an SG (which are known for thier slim necks) and this neck is comfortable to play, especially for me, being a girl with small hands. Secondly, this guitar puts out a nice beefy sound. I am in a punk band, an I use my distortion pedals a lot. The double humbuckers really beef up the sound while still giving it that nice fender tone. Only downside that I've noticed is it's weight. This is one heavy guitar, and I would recommend strap locks. Once you get a feel for the guitar though, the weight issue is easy overlooked. Guitar has good quality tuning machines and hardware. I did notice that when i removed the tremolo bar, the spring inside the insertion hole came unguled easily and fell out. This wasn't a problem though since I do not usually use the tremolo, i just put both the bar and spring in a plastic bag. Over all, good guitar for a very reasonable price.
