OVERVIEW

Fender's Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster tears the place down with extra-scorching Strat sound and style. Its three Texas Special single-coil pickups are wired for supercharged tonal versatility, with a special V6 rotary switch (disguised as the middle tone knob) that delivers six distinct onboard preamp tone settings from wiry single-coil to searing lead. The S-1 switch built into the volume knob bypasses the preamp completely for pure Strat tone.

Other features include a tinted maple neck with "modern C" profile and large '70s-style headstock, 9.5"-radius maple or rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets, five-way pickup switch, four-ply aged white pearloid pickguard, three aged white control knobs (master volume/S-1, V6, master tone), and vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge.

Includes gig bag.

I own 4 strats of all kinds , I have to say this one sounds and plays better than all of them, including my American strat, playing thru Line 6 equipment I don't think you could get a better sound for recording, I play a gig the other night using my Marshall and with the pre amp on I got amazing sounds playing SRV and Clapton music. This guitar was set up perfect for me right out of the box I had to do nothing but plug it in. I love fender products and this one gets an A+ 5 * from me. If you had second thoughts about buying this fender then don't give it another , you won't be disappointed . Don't let Mexico fool you !!!

This is the first Strat I ever ever used with a high quality tube amp. The range of tones I could get out of it was fantastic. Overall, I would have given it a 4 because lately, I prefer the extra bite you can get out of a Tele. The on board boost was great. The pickups were great. I did return it though because the pickup selector kept shorting out on me. That is what knocked it down to a 3. If I was totally in love with it, I would have re soldered the pickup selector. I returned it in exchange for a Baja Tele. If the electronics on the Tele need work, I will probably fix them myself. The instrument work on the Mexican Fenders is good and I can do any electrical mod I need to do, Fender makes a good product and I do not mind the extra price for the name... they invented solid bodies...

Comments about Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Like I said this is for sure the best cost benefit on Fender's line , you'll get a thousand money guitar sound. This guitar is very well made, very good feel , the neck is much like a american made Fender (I had one american standard wich I sold to stay with this one) . First of all it's 22 frets, very rare for a mexican guitar, 70's headstock wich I didn't like at first but I got use to it and now I prefer over the small one, it seems to ressonate a little bit more. The pickups are the best , Texas Specials ! I love the sound of it, they are hot warm , well balanced , good response, nice amount of gain and sparkle when it has to be. And of course has that twang that a good strat need. The S-1 switch and the V-6 Tone is a plus, there is not a bad sound from it. One really nice thing you all should try is to turn the preamp and plug the guitar directly on the soundboard, it will sound better than any other guitar that you do it. NIce sound indeed. I had over 12 guitars , Gibsons , Fenders, PRS, but this guitar is a very pleasent surprise, the price is right , and everything else is as well as you expect from a Fender. I have two amps an Orange Rockerverb 50 and a Hiwatt Hi-Gain 100, and I play calssic rock and blues. My pedalboard Dunlop JH-1 wah, MXR Dynacomp, Fulltone OCD, Boss BD-2, Blackstar HT modulation and MXR Carbon Copy.

Ok I took months to finally decide to buy this guitar. Don't you make that same mistake! It's got the classic Texas Special sound you hear from all your fav blues players. It can rock and get country twangy too thanks to the S1 rotary knob. You can go to youtube and search this model to see and hear reviews. When you get it you notice right off it sounds soooo much better in person! This is a great instrument plays very well lo Is awesome and is priced right. Oh and if customer service is important to you, you can't ever go wrong with MF customer service! My CSR was Natosha she made sure my buying experience was A+++

Comments about Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

The 4 stars really should be 3 1/2...but there is no 3 1/2, and it doesn't deserve a 3 (if that makes sence).
The 3 1/2 would be, because I feel there has been too much hype on this guitar and pickup's; I'm just not getting when compared to a Standard Strat that is a hundred bones cheaper.

Also, one thing that is not written in the product description on this site, nor anywhere in the packaging is; the pre-amp 9volt battery is activated by plugging the guitar chord into the jack NOT by activating/deactivating the "bypass switch" built into the volume knob. So if you tend to leave your guitar plugged in when you set it down (like me) you will run through expensive batteries.
I learned of this on Fender's own Forums.

Otherwise; there's no doubt this thing is gorgeous (mine's Aged White), and the feel is fantastic as is all 9.5 radius maple fretboard's are to me.
The Texas Specials don't have as much 'meat' to them as I hoped...but do the job. And the six settings definitely have distinctive tonal differences, but I have found (my play style and preference) I would be happy with the three highest tones...the other three tend to sound a little muddy to me through a tube amp.

I am not disappointed that I bought this axe, but not super excited either. To me; just the awesome paint job, 70's headstock, and pick gaurd is worth the extra coin over a Standard...not overly impressed with the pickup "upgrade" to Texas Specials.

I WOULD recommend this axe to anyone who wants to add 'variety' to an existing collection, but if you're buying your first guitar (or upgrading from a cheapy no-name), save the hundred and grab a MIM Standard Strat.

Comments about Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I had been wanting this Strat for about 6 months. THEN out of nowhere the price went up 100!! That was a bummer. I went searching for the best price and once again Musicians Friend came through!! When looking for quality and price you cant go wrong with an "Open Box" product. I have had several from MF with no issues at all. This 3 color sunburst Strat looks AWESOME and best of all SOUNDS OUTSTANDING just like a Strat should. You are gonna love the S-1 and 6 position rotary pre amp settings - this thing smokes from the classic wirey single coil Strat to the beefy p-90 sound. Im thoroughly enjoying this guitar - you will too.

Comments about Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Great Fender tone from the Texas special pickups and nice solid modern tuners. The custom colors are beautiful for this guitar. I have the Sonic Blue. Just like the Kurt Cobain model. The S-1 switching is very useable and provides those glorious Fender clean tones and nice blues to hard rock as well. Sadly, the rotary switch sounds aren't very pleasing to the ear so you're better off just hitting the S-1 to bypass it altogether. Fender should make the next years example of this guitar without the rotary switch to make it more affordable while getting rid of those useless and weak tones. The fit and finish of this guitar is really nice EXCEPT for the fret wire edges on the fretboard. They are so rough they are almost SHARP. After taping off the sides and filing them down, you will have a very nice guitar. It's a shame they couldn't something that simple at the factory. In fact, they should have put the money and labor into quality fret finish and abandon the rotary switch. This will give the buyer a BETTER and more useable guitar for the money without the cheap feel.

Have gigged & jammed over last 50 years but play mostly at home. This is a different Strat from the many I've owned - a different voice but classis look & feel. Plays, feels, & looks like a Strat costing twice as much. Very resonant, very solid. Classic Strat tones & more. I can't say I've ever got more guitar for my money. I knew from the get go it was a keeper.

Comments about Fender Deluxe Roadhouse Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

plug it in, fire up the tubes, and skin it back. if anyone don't like this one, they need to buy a flute or something. if you like getting on some nasty screaming blues, then get this Mexican badboy.
