For the money, it's a very nice guitar. I replaced the tuners to Fender locking and the saddles but for what they were offering it as used, I couldn't pass it up. Just needs a set up and it's going to be perfect. I just sit there and look at it while it's on the stand. Absolutely beautiful guitar.
Can't complain for the price. Ash body, maple neck. Looks great. Good guitar as is. I just replaced a couple of parts per my personal preference.
Fender has really upped the quality on their Mexican guitars. Nice gloss finish and glossy neck. I've owned Mexi guitars in the past and this is by far the nicest.
I bought it "used" but it looked brand new. Not a scratch. Very happy with what I paid for it.

No a bad guitar but not special
It looks good and the neck is better after some shop work dressing the frets. It plays good but the tone is lacking. I does nothing to help me stay interested in playing and the standard strat always has my attention. so that's what I play and this one sets until I sell it. The weakness is with the PUP's
The PUPs are nothing special, but I did not buy a guitar just to then pickups separate to put on it. So this looker is sitting on the guitar stand.

Needed some set up with the intonation. No buzzing. Stock strings bend and whine just fine to start. Love the tone and sound. The stock humbuckers are better than I thought they would be. Playing thru a mic'd Blues Jr. Great range. It will get crunchy with a just little tweeking or sweetly lay it out with a run up the neck.

This is a fantastic sounding guitar with a phenomenal sustain. It can hold a not longer than my American made stratocaster. Not only does it sound good but it looks great. I highly reccomend this guitar for the money -- excellent value.

Pretty guitar, hangs on the wall for now. Does need a setup. I plan to throw some Dimarzio's in it along with brass sadles. By the time I am finished im thinking its going to cost me 400.00.

This is a great looking guitar. Love the transparent orange on ash body and the gold anadozied pickguard. Electrinics working well and pickups are very decent.
Major problem with the ends of every fret wire sticking out. Too sharp. Had to take to local tech to have them honed and polished so they wouldn't cut my finger when playing. Fender tech at dealership did this on warranty.
This seems to be the case on most all Non-American made Fender guitars I've owned, and there have been many.
If you'll have the sharp frets dressed in the winter time, when the wood contracts, this should take care of the problem for good.
Overall, a good price, look and function.

I had been looking into the Blacktop series for a backup guitar and I've gotten more than that out of it. I play technical/metal/post-hardcore kind of stuff, but I can't really think of a genre this guitar would be bad for. I use a Fender Deluxe amp and plugging this into that gets you exactly the tone you would want. Between the guitar and the amp I run a RAT and a Micro-Pog, which is getting me some amazing sustain. I have a '72 Thinline reissue as my main guitar, but the Blacktop is such a workhorse I'm considering swapping the two in their positions. It's a very straight forward, warm sounding guitar. I can't get enough of it, and for the price I'm very impressed.

You really can't get the color until you have it in your hands. Took the recommendation of one review and he was right, she's very pretty. This is pure Telecaster from the ground up; tone, sound, feel, feedback... best part is the dual Humbuckers that put real kick in to it. Playability is great, sounds awesome through tube or diigital; you'll be glad you got one.
