This guitar was described as a solid body guitar however when I picked it up it was very light. The DiMarzio pickups are powerful and the coil split function is a nice touch. I like the clean tones I get with the neck pickup in split mode.
When I play it in Rock/Metal mode the tone seems hollow and airy not what I was expecting. Overall I think it a descent guitar for more of a jazz or blues template.

Through out the years I have had many different guitars and this one has it's place but just not where I thought it would have fit.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I've had mine a little over a year, now....mine is the same as these but features spalted maple instead of the gold top, and SD Pearly Gates instead of the DiMarzio p/u's on these. Mine has a push/pull coil cut on the tone knob, as well. The description above claims these have a 'mid boost'--I don't know why, with HBs.
The main thing about this guitar is that it's a mutant: everything you've come to expect from Teles is absent from this axe (or just plain different). Weird thing, though: it still *does* twang out when called upon. First off, not only is it NOT a bolt-on neck; the neck and stock appear to be the same piece of mahogany as the body! Like a Firebird, but the ~whole body~ is the 'neck-thru'--there doesn't appear to be body-sides glued on. WAY COOL! The body is also super-thin; even thinner than an SG (think early-60s Epi Sheraton). This is, in fact, the lightest solid-body I've ever held...yet it's not even neck-heavy. Sweet. Great big abalone dot inlays...not only is abalone almost unheard-of on Teles, but these are huge; 1/2 the size of block inlays! I imagine that's the 'upside' of "Indonesia Custom Shop" (don't laugh!). Gold h-stock logo, bound neck and body, graphite nut.
Despite being cut in the shape of a Tele, this is a rock and roll stage-axe as far as I can tell. I don't play my Les Paul gold top any more because of this guitar. The totally unexpected thing about mine is that, on single-coil, it really *is* Tele-tone (go figure; the DiMarzios can't be that far different than the Seymour Pearly Gates on mine. I would suggest that anyone with this guitar install a coil shunt/tap/cut, since this one claims to feature a 'mid-boost'--why you'd want that with HBs anyway--instead). The neck is thin, flat, and fast; the bridge HB makes it squeal when you tickle it; it's lighter than many hollow-bodied guitars; it has the traditional Telecaster pallette along with all the 'PAF' sound (well, mine does; I'm not familiar with the DiMarzios in this iteration).
Bottom line: this 'Anti-Tele' is striking in every way, versatile (w/ coil-cuts, anyway), and has replaced my Carvin DC400A(!) and gold top Les Paul as "#1 Stage Guitar"...and it costs about 1/3 what either of those did! Best all-around guitar I've ever bought from MF. One last note about this guitar (and why I'm reviewing this when mine came with different pickups): Mine said it came with a 'Fender Black Canyon HB' in the neck, and a 'Fender Atomic II' in the bridge--in the catalog *and* on the description/price tag that hung from one tuner. Well, it didn't; it had these SD Pearly Gates instead (they're the 'Billy Gibbons rendition of JBs', so to speak), and I'm glad it had the ones it did instead of the ones that were advertized....weird, huh? So you might get the DiMarzios, or Atomic Canyon Whatevers, or--if you're lucky, I guess--Pearly Gates w/ a coil cut instead of a 'mid-boost' lol. You're going to love this guitar, even if you're used to shorter-scale necks.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I never had fret buzz issues like the person stated below. I picked this guitar up 2 weeks ago and love the thinner set neck. Allows me to shred up and down the fretboard smoothly. Setup out the box was decent, all I did was swap to some DR blues Nickels and wow. Sustain is huge. The finish is beautiful, and it feels about the same weight as my strat. I dont think I will be putting this one down for a while. Everyone who sees it asks me about it. Unique and something you dont see everywhere.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

This is a set neck, mahogany body/neck, maple top guitar. Its basically a Les Paul in the shape of a Tele...except its thin like an SG. Made in Indonesia. Good value for the price, I got this as a backup/beater.

Mine has Dimarzio pickups and the tone pot has a coil tap. Its a wide neck, like a 15" radius? Setup out of the box was just so so, no relief in the neck, and the action was meh. The biggest knock on this guitar is the bridge - the saddles have sharp corners that are annoying for palm muting. I ordered a Gotoh replacement bridge with rounded saddles.

All and all a sweet axe for the price, like a gold top shaped like a Tele. I bought it to leave at my drummers house, but I am having fun with it.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

Like I said-the jury is still out on this guitar. I have only had it a couple of days and I'm trying to work out the fret buzz and intonation kinks.
While I prefer a thicker neck I still find it easy to play and the look is a nice departure from your everyday tele. I'll probably end up replaced the bridge pickup with a duncan JB model if i keep it. the neck pickup is fine for that position.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

This guitar does it all at a great value. I picked it up for a song but don't feel bad if you paid full price because you still got a great deal. Now keep in mind I returned 2 guitars back to MF because of a defective neck and a stripped out truss rod. So quality control is suspect. But the third guitar is a real winner. The neck is wider and and flatter than your average fender which is great for fast playing and deep bends and access to upper frets is better than other fenders because it has a set neck. Very classy. The pick ups scream. They are very balanced and pick up on a lot of nuances and harmonic over tones. Pups are focused on mid range so they are very crunchy and smooth. With plenty of bite so your lead playing cuts through. The coil spilt gives even more options. What a beautiful guitar. Nice and light too. There is some fret buzz issues but right from the factory it of course needs a set up. If you're looking for a classic tele skip it. If you want a shredders dream with all the bells and whistles buy it. You will love it. Thanks to musicians friend for standing behind their product. Cheers.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

I bought this guitar used in mint cond. for half the cost a new. I usually buy high end Gibson or Fenders. The DiMarzio pick ups are versatile especially for rock which is why I bought it. There's no pick up buzz till you use split coil, which is typical. Fret buzz can be taken care of with trying different strings or a mild set up.If you don't know how to do so I recommend spending the money for a professional to do so. At some point I will replace all pots and switch to better quality hardware and hand wire such things. But over all I would recommend this to be a really good guitar from a starter to advance player. With a little time and money to make it your own, you'll be extremely pleased that you bought this guitar.

Comments about Fender FSR Custom Telecaster HH Electric Guitar with DiMarzio Pickups:

This is a great guitar and a winning combo. I have played the FSR Tele with the EMG's but i prefer PUP that do not rely on batteries. Both Guitars are Hybrid Teles that have great set necks and both pup up systems are an improvement over fender humbucker PUP. I play it more than my highwayone tele which I do not care for. I will put on some seymmor duncans
I bought mine used with the extended warrantee. It was a ggod deal used and the gold looks fantastic compared to the black.
