I bought this guitar thinking that it might be better than a MIM, but just maybe. I thought that I really wanted an American Standard, but was too tight to spring for the extra dough. What I got was a lot more than I bargained for. This guitar sounded great right outa the box and it plays with the machismo character that you don't find with most strats. The oversized frets are great for my oversized hands and makes note bending a breeze. Those single coil PUPS are phenomenal. Some people don't like the "C" neck but it fits my hand like a glove. This is beauty of a guitar that sounds as good as it looks and allows my blues playing to approach the "doesn't suck" category of playing. When you can't put the thing down, you can't help but improve. There are few things in this life that I'd buy again, but this Highway One is one of them. My desire for an American Standard Strat is gone forever. Now, if you'll excuse me, I gotta go play the thing.
Outstanding guitar. Unique look that does not come across in picture. Love the combination of Humbucker and traditional strat pickups. This guitar scream when pushed. Cannot beat price Love Telecasters but this strat is a must
I got this for Christmas this year from my girlfriend, lets just say after I played it I dedcided she was a keeper (the guitar too!). The guitar plays so smooth and it's sharp glassy tone will send chills down your spine and put goosebumps on your arms. It also has to be the sexiest looking guitar I have seen, I would recommend this guitar to any expierianced musician, regardless of style.
First of all, I've been waiting for Fender to come up w/an all black cosmetic look. I love it. I like to think of it as the 'stealth' strat. The FSR Highway One is a great value too, compared with the standard american model considering price and appointments. The pickups sound great and the humbucker in bridge position is a plus. A very versatile strat! This is wired a little different from the mexi Hss, as the #2 position of the pickup switch is a "combo" of the bridge and middle pups, rather than an auto tap of front coil of bridge pup, giving it a "thicker" tone. I actually like the larger headstock too..(usually don't)..as it's painted. This is another unique item from Fender. Don't pass on it! Get one!
I've been waiting for Fender to come out w/this combo of cosmetics... everything is black except for bridge/tuning machines--Hoorah! Cool as you can get, and not "common". The FSR Highway One Strat is a "must have". The pickups are Killer I think (single coils are hotter than Texas Specials), and the bucker in brige pos. just tops it off. This guitar is a real contender for becoming a "favorite". The pickguard is one ply-(minor detail but essential to the "look"). Just got one of these--changed strings, lowered action a bit and I was good to go.Great Strat-Great price...GET ONE NOW.
this guitar is absoutely amazing, it has a smooth easy playable neck that you can just fly on. and incredible humbuckers classic sound and quality IF YOU WANT A STRATOCASTOR THIS IS THE ONE 4 U!
