Comments about Fender James Burton Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

If you don't mind a thick neck, this might be your Tele. Other vintage features include the Kluson style tuners and the 6 saddle bridge. Some have said that the bridge rattles, but I haven't found that to be a problem. String this up with .010's, and you'll be ready to play nearly any style (If you can't play it on a Tele, I'm not interested). The Mexican built quality is very good, and if James Burton played one, well...

        James Burton Standard Telecaster

Comments about Fender James Burton Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Bought mine in 1998. A nice guitar but had a paint job that was interesting. I traded the store for a re-tube job on my "64" Deluxe Reverb as opposed to sending the guitar back. Do yourself a solid if you get this guitar. Swap all the chrome hardware for gold, tuners, bridge (Gotoh), control plate , knobs and replace the pickguard with a pearloid one. Put a Bill Lawrence (gold) pickup in the neck position, change the strings to Fender 3150TR Nickel Wound Bullets and you will have a stunning guitar that sounds great and looks great and a true tribute to the man whose name is on the headstock. And at this current price it should come out of Mexico looking like this!!!
